Dolls owned by my mother and we’re lovingly played with. Crazing over both dolls. Painted eyes on dr needs updated as paint has come off. The nurse’s eyes open and shut but not well. The arm of dr is out of socket and the nurse’s head and legs are also out of socket. Both have shoes and socks on. Here today is an adorable, 8 inch, hard plastic BKW, all original, tagged “Wendy Kins Nurse” doll #460, marked on her back ALEX, made by Madame Alexander in 1963. This little hard to find cutie is just about as perfect as can be without being considered mint. Other than that and just a slight trace of light dust she is perfect. Her darling tagged nurses outfit is crisp and clean in excellent condition with no holes, no tears, no stains, no discoloration and no fading. The blue and white striped dress is tagged Wendy-Kins closing in the back with the original intact square snaps. The white pinafore closes in the back with a self tie sash that feeds through white painted grommets. Wendy is wearing her original white organdy panties with lace around the leg openings. Her sweet little white nurses cap is rolled back as it should be but there is only one stick pin in the back. Wendy is wearing her original white anklet socks and her off white shoes with off white satin ribbons with fuzzy bottoms. Her sweet little baby doll is made of hard hard plastic with tiny little eyes that move side to side and open and close. I believe she is articulated at the legs and arms. Baby still has the original pink wire around her neck that is attached to Wendy’s wrist. She is wearing her original little white eyelet dress, bonnet and white diapers. I don’t find any issues with Wendy, her face paint is gorgeous with nicely blushed cheeks, vivid painted lower lashes and brows, and tiny red painted lips. Her big crystal clear blue eyes flutter and open and close as they should. Wendy’s flip style brunette wig is perfect, it has never been combed. Wendy is a walker with bend knees, there are no joint issues, she can stand and hold poses without any assistance. Precious hard to find Wendy Kins Nurse and her adorable baby are in excellent excellent condition that would make a wonderful addition to a Madame Alexander doll collection. Dafoe And The Nurse (Who Took Care Of The Dionne Quintuplets). The dolls have very nice composition with some light crazing. Dafoe has painted eyes and the nurse has working eyes, not crackled. The height of the doctor is 14″ and the nurse is 13″. The doctor and the nurse dolls are not marked and their clothes are not marked. The blush color is on the knees, elbows, and top of their hands. The shoes, socks, and nurses hat (all original) were not taken off by me. The nurse has a one piece outfit with skirt, and the doctor has a one piece with a top. The dolls have stringing that has stretched over the years. She told me when she was 4 years old. She was sick with scarlet fever. She received the dolls and was not allowed to play with them. Small crack on inside upper arm. Small paint rub on back of left leg and left rear. Nose of glasses looks bent but, I believe that was the way they were made. Slight crazing on face. Light stains on hat. Small black spots on back of skirt. Tiny stain on front of skirt. Light stain on back collar and left sleeve. Right eye lid has missing paint. They come from a smoke free home. RARE Composition Madame Alexander Dr. Dafoe and Nurse Yvonne Leroux. Dafoe doll is 14 and represents the famed doctor of the Dionne Quintuplets. He was made by Madame Alexander in 1935 and unmarked, although his uniform is tagged. Nurse Leroux is 13 and also unmarked. Each have swivel heads, and jointed arms/legs with painted eyes (except Nurse with sleep eyes). The doctor has grey mohair wig and highly characterize smiling kindly expression. The nurse has a sweet disposition and blond wig. Condition of each is good to very good for age. Some usual wear with composition dolls, outfits a bit yellowed, socks may be original on each but shoes look to have been replaced. Some minor crazing or nicks may be in some places, joints a little floppy or loose on each, but poseable. The stand is included with the Nurse. This is a vintage Madame Alexander Wendy-Kins (or Alexanderkins) 8 Nurse doll, still in her original box. The brochure that is included does not use zip codes, so this dates it to pre-1963. The doll is a hard plastic, bent-knee walker. She has a blonde wig and dark blue sleep eyes. Her nurses uniform consists of a white cotton, short-sleeved dress with a white cotton pinafore on top that ties in the back. The Madame Alexander Alexander-kins tag is sewn on the inside of the dress. Also included is a nurse’s hat that has navy trim sewn to the brim. She has beige fuzzy tie shoes and white socks. She has a plastic baby. Dressed in a lace gown and cap, tied to her wrist. I did not undress the doll for pictures, because it appears that the clothes have never been removed. The ties on the pinafore and the shoes look original. Clothes have original crispness. A Madame Alexander brochure of other dolls available is included. There is also a white cloth that looks like a doll bed sheet that was folded in the bottom of the box. It has a tag that says Utica. I don’t think this came with the doll, but I will leave it in the box. There is also some white tissue paper inside the box. Doll is in excellent condition and may have been stored in the box all these years. One curl on the wig wants to come loose, but other than that, I don’t see any flaws. Doll is very clean. The box is in fair condition. Sides are dented in and there are tears in the box lid edge. For those who care, items are stored in a non-smoking environment. Mint in Box.
