When do you ever see an ORIGINAL Madame Alexander Joanie Nurse Playpal Size Doll IN THE BOX with all the packing materials tissue, and hang tag? This is a super rare doll, and was made only in 1959 (She is dated on her neck). Comes from an old estate collection. We like to disclose everything so that nobody is disappointed. The first two issues are with the dress. (See last three pics) There is one tiny spot on the front circled in the pic. Not sure what it is… Looks almost tan in color up close. The second dress issue is on the back right side. The material in that section of the dress has discolored over time. It does not look like a stain, more like that section or panel of material was from a different lot, and aged differently than the other parts of the dress. That section just has a slightly less white tone to it. That section does not show when she is displayed in her box. The third issue is that the glue around the soul of her left shoe has darkened a bit with age, and it looks like a line around the joint of the soul to the upper shoe as can be seen in the picture. Again it is not terribly ugly, we just want to mention everything we have noticed to be honest and fair. We have handled her very little, so as not to disturb her. She even still has the packing tissue inside her hat! She really is AMAZING!!!! A complete set of 1930′s unmarked composition Dionne Quintuplets baby dolls, approximately 6-1/2 long (when undressed). Madame Alexander acquired the rights to make dolls representing the quintuplets, but many other doll/toy companies in the mid and late 1930′s made unlicensed versions of the quints, including American companies. This set is unmarked (most of Effanbee Dionne sets were). They used the Tinyette baby as the model for their Quint babies and then made the colorful pastel matching gown and bonnet for each doll. Each baby has a solid dome composition socket head with jointed arms and jointed bowed infant legs, brown/black painted hair, adorable faces with side glancing brown eyes, painted lashes and rosebud mouths. They are all wearing their original factory clothing that consists of pretty cotton dresses with attached slips, wonderful quality made matching bonnets with wide lace-trimmed brims, pinned diapers and slouchy socks/booties. Their costumes are all in very good condition having no holes or tears. Dress fasteners are brass pins. Each baby has their own color coordinated initial bracelet and a bunny toy (bunnies were added). They come in a shared wood crib (with pad and pillow). They are all tightly strung. The compo condition is generally very good on all of them. There is crazing, however, here and there on all of the baby dolls (please see my pictures) but it is expected and not visible at all when the dolls are displayed dressed… AND the crazing and any other imperfections have been treated and stabilized with a liquid “preservative”. The treatment makes these dolls now very sound, without any future. In person this is a very pleasing little set of Quints. Included in my offer a very cute 13 composition full jointed Nurse doll and. The pin is a collectible I had and thought it would look good pinned on her. This Nurse doll is “unmarked” and I believe may be an early Effanbee from the thirties or forties. (she is not original to the set but I have included her and the pin as a token of my appreciation). The Nurse doll is dressed in complete uniform (hand fashioned). She has a braided styled mohair wig and a lovely face that almost matches the quintuplets. A very sweet, unique set 80+ years old that should please any collector. I just found (5) little “paper” name tags and I will include these as well. If you have any questions I’ll be happy to answer. Nurse Joanie is in very good condition. She has her original dress, cap, shoes and watch pin. She has a tiny hairline crack at her left butt cheek. She has some fading and slight loss of lip paint. The strap to one of her shoes is broken but could probably be stitched back in place. There is a gap in the ribbon trim of her cap and slight tearing to the fabric of her left sleeve cuff. I do not smoke. We have a smoke free, pet free home. Here for your consideration is a wonderful composition doll by Madame Alexander. This is the very RARE RED HEAD Nurse for the Dionne Quintuplets. She is full body composition. I measure her at 13 inches tall and that is what the book says, as well. She has the “Betty” face. She is all original and will come to you in her original Box! She has beautiful sleep eyes. She is missing lashes from her left eye. She is all original and in beautiful condition. I do not see a tag, but that is not unusual with dolls of this age. It is very obvious she is in her original outfit. She is also wearing her original shoes and socks. Please note she even still has her Nurse’s Cap! She is in beautiful condition and I see nothing wrong with her. Her face paint, eyebrows, lower lashes and lips are absolutely beautiful. I just realized that there is a tiny hole in the back of her top (I just checked and it is visible in the picture) and the little safety pin that is supposed to fasten the back of her skirt is missing. That is an easy fix. Please view the pictures carefully, as they are part of the description. I could miss something that is important to you. I have a smoke free, pet free home. Set of Madame Alexander Dionne quintuplets complete with nurse and furniture. Identifying mark – raised lettering that reads: Alexander. Complete with painted white furniture. Crib, playpen, highchair, low potty-chair, and a scooter. 13 Composition nurse with no identifying to labels or marking. Has very sparse light blonde human hair wig, glued to head. Head has very light crazing and has three relatively large cracks and one small crack around eyeholes. Green sleep eyes (tin), with one eye opening with sparse lash, the other good. Body in relatively good condition with some crazing, thumb paint chipped and feet with damaged toe areas. Appears to be wearing cotton nurse outfit and hat. (#1) Quintuplet – Composition bent limb baby, with molded painted hair. One eye has paint loss and head has very light crazing overall. Body is good but needs restrung. Wearing original cotton taffeta short dress, bib that reads embroidered in pink Emelie. Complete with slip and original diaper, missing bonnet. (#2) Quintuplet – body in good condition, except face has major crack through center. Wearing original dress, slip, diaper, booties, and bonnet. (#3) Quintuplet- in overall good condition except right arm, shoulder has small crack through paint. Wearing original bonnet, dress (no slip), diaper, booties, bonnet, and bib embroidered Annette. (#4) Quintuplet – Composition in good condition except for toe rub. Wearing original dress, slip, diaper, bonnet, booties, and embroidered bib with Cecilia. (#5) Quintuplet – Composition bent limb baby in relatively good condition, except for small crack under nose and two cracks extending through center of lips. Also, cheek area with paint loss. Gorgeous, hard-to-find Madame Alexander Nurse Joanie from 1959. She is a 35 playpal companion doll, dressed in a quality-made reproduction outfit. Overall, she is in very good condition for her age, but she is not perfect, please see all photos. Hair is lovely, thick and full with no missing plugs. Clear blue flirty eyes that open and close as they should, long lashes intact. Lip and eyebrow paint looks good, no rubs. Her joints are firm and hold pose, and her walker works well. Back of her neck is marked Alexander 1959. She has quite a bit of fading and discoloration in several spots on torso and legs. Red discoloration looks like dye bleed from a prior outfit, and the fading looks like it was done when someone tried to clean it. She also has what looks like a prior repair on her left foot and heel – see photos. It does not interfere with her standing or walking. Most of her flaws are covered by her clothing. Her outfit is a custom-made reproduction that includes blue and white striped dress, embroidered apron, hat, can-can, and bloomers. There is a tiny light yellowish spot on the back of the dress collar see photos. It might come out with cleaning, but I did not attempt to clean her outfit; it is otherwise in excellent condition and I did not want to risk damaging it. Her socks and shoes are children’s wear in fair used condition. Shoes are a little bit too big for her, but she can still walk in them. Overall, a lovely display doll to add to your collection!
