Vintage 1940s Madame Alexander Scarlett O’Hara Doll 18 Composition Doll. This old vintage doll is in very good overall condition. She features a wig of long black hair and green sleepy eyes. She has real lashes but she is missing a few on her left eye. Her eyes are clear and not cracked. They open and close as they should. She has single stroke painted brows and a closed bow mouth. Her composition is in very good condition but not perfect. There is a crack to her right foot, a scuff to her back and some light crazing to her body. Luckily her face is virtually free from visible crazing or cracking. Her stringing is good. She can stand and balance independently and hold a pose. She has all of her fingers and toes. She is wearing a vintage homemade green antebellum dress with crocheted trim and intricately made undergarments. Her green dress is very well made but somewhat faded from the sun. The rest of her outfit consists of matching green pantaloons, a custom 2 layer petticoat with detachable bustle, a straw sun bonnet and black leatherette shoes with bows. This very lovely Wendy Ann-face Scarlett OHara Doll was made between 1939 and 1946. She is all original, wearing a beautiful and rare gown and matching bonnet. Her coal black mohair wig is in its original shiny set! All her lashes are intact and she has clear green eyes. There are no holes, stains, or faded areas on the dress or bonnet. She has thigh-high socks and one has a very small hole above the knee. Her black shoes look brand/new, but one is missing a heel. Scarlett has two barely visible creases in her face and one that runs the length of the outside of the right leg. The original paint appears to be undisturbed and has not cracked or crazed. Vintage 1939 Madame Alexander 14in “Scarlett O’Hara”. Scarlett is a 14 inch, composition, fully jointed straight leg walker, with a vibrantly colored face. She has black hair in the original set and working blue sleep eyes. She is wearing a green silk full length double button coat and matching bonnet with light green ties. She wears a pink flowered/ green leaf print dress and a ruffle-trimmed half slip. Double ruffled trimmed pantelets, nylon socks and black snap shoes adorned with black bows complete her outfit. Please look over pixs to observe the following described flaws from aging that Scarlet has. Miss O’Hara does have a few small hairline cracks in the face that are not very visible except when looking up close, the tie on the right side of her silk bonnet is worn away some, the 2nd button down on her overcoat is faded and she is missing a bow on her left shoe. Her bonnet also has some wear in the material in areas that can seen in the pictures provided. She can be found on page 54 of Patricia R. Smith’s “Madame Alexander Collector’s Dolls” and is pictured on page 19 of Majorie Victoria Sturges UHL “Madame Alexander’s Made With Love”. She comes with a doll stand and is from a smoke-free home. Vintage Madame Alexander 18 Scarlett O’Hara Doll, Original Gown & Dress Tag. A very pretty 18 vintage jointed composition Madame Alexander Scarlett O’Hara doll. Original dotted Swiss gown with sewn in hoop petticoat, shirred bodice, black velvet ribbon accents. Sleep eyes, all lashes present. I believe the Lace trimmed bloomers are replaced. Side snap shoes & socks look original. Retains Madame Alexander dress tag “Scarlett O’Hara”. Composition is smooth throughout, some paint wear at joints, knee blush is intact. Gown shows fading, mostly in back, some in front and sleeves – please enlarge photos to see fading, needs minor mending at neckline. Face is very smooth, but pale, could use some blush – hair is in original set with barrettes, dry & could use some conditioning. She holds a pose but is a little loose. Right shoe missing heel. She is all composition and is jointed at the neck, shoulders and hips. She has clear blue sleep eyes with thick brush lashes, grey eye shadow, single stroke eyebrows, painted lower lashes, bright cheek blush and closed pouty mouth. She is a “Wendy face” Alexander doll with. Original blushing on her hands and knees. Her thick raven human hair wig is styled. In curls pulled away from her face and is in the original set.
