A rare hard plastic walker doll in a harder to find tagged blue color gown rather than the more common pink gown. Even triple if mint condition. Margaret face hard plastic that has no unwanted odors. Blue sleep eyes that have a hint of brown on one side of each eye ball, has all her lashes. There is a faded rub at the bridge of the nose, cheeks are rosy and lips are red, all with no rubs. Auburn red hair that looks to be in the original set. Front of hair can be picked back to life as it was pushed back by someone sticking a hair pin there, perhaps to hold down the hat. Madame Alexander New York hat box with good elastic and 2 hair curlers inside. Tagged gown has a faded gold spot, a bit bigger than a pin head size, on right side, as pictured. Violet color sash has a few small faded spots in back that are hardly noticeable, as pictured. Hoop half slip has a snap at waist, hoop is bent, though can be gently put back to shape with time. Slip has no stains or holes. Cotton, lace trimmed underwear with snap at waist, nylon stockings and black, velvet textured center snap shoes. All in good condition. Straw hat could use a little work as the crown is mostly separated from the rim and a few small triangle cuts on the back edge rim. Sits on top of the head without showing the split. Still retains the original flower appliques and netted ties. Sewn in tag reads “Madame Alexander”. As far as I can tell her dress has not been washed—the fabric appears to have original patina and texture and fits well but not tight—this fabric will shrink with washing as it is 100% cotton. This is a beautiful Vintage Princess Elizabeth Madame Alexander Composition Doll with Original Clothes & Tiara. The doll has her original Tiara on her head – socks & silver shoes with buckles on her feet – her under garment is a slip with attached panty (on the back of the panty is a couple of tiny holes) & a sweet pink dress embellished with 3 pink roses with green leaves & 2 buttons on back with the label that reads Princess Elizabeth – Madame Alexander – N. The doll measures 17 tall. The face has very faint crazing – one eye is foggy & she probably needs to be restrung (the arms, legs & head are loose). She has an open mouth with four upper teeth. Her clothes were only taken off for the first time just for the photo. From a clean smoke free home. Please take a good look at all photos. This listing is for a vintage. 1950s Madame Alexander LITTLE WOMEN AMY doll loop curls original fabric tag on back of dress at the neck. The doll is approx 14 tall. I think it may say “alex” on the back of her head? The Amy doll is in very good vintage condition with the light wear and patina you would expect in an item of this vintage. There is a slight bit of discoloration on her petticoat – see photo # 4 at the bottom of the petticoat to the right of center. I’ve also read that some of these dolls can be rather loosely strung – I don’t know if that is the case with this doll or not – her head stays upright when you hold her still but if you move her around (I don’t have a doll stand) it has a tendency to drop forward a little bit. I don’t have a lot of experience with dolls so please let me know if you have any questions. Please see all 12 photos several of which are taken on a 1 ruler grid for relative size purposes. Please look at the pictures I have included to judge the condition for yourself and let me know if you have any questions. Please note also , that the flash and close-up function of my camera shows all of the dust, etc. Which is not visible to the naked eye. Vintage 1940s Margaret OBrien 18 HP Doll By Madame Alexander, Orig. This hard plastic doll is in excellent condition. She has soft brown hair in bundled braids with bangs. She has green glass sleepy eyes, painted lower lashes, single stroke brows, rosy cheeks and a closed rosebud mouth. She has a full set of real lashes and her eyes open and close as they should. She is dressed in her original untagged dress. It is a blue cotton short sleeved dress with a sheer white organza pinafore. Underneath she is wearing a netted tutu type petticoat, white eyelet trimmed panties, white socks and black shoes. Origin of the hat and shoes is uncertain if original. She is marked ALEXANDER on her head. She has all of her fingers on both hands. She has no visible marks, cracks or blemishes. Her finish is super. She can stand and balance independently. We are pleased to present… “Queen Elizabeth” II, British Coronation doll. E II R Absolutely beautiful, hard plastic, (and vinyl over-sleeve arms) 21 inch tall , Cissy, “Queen Elizabeth”, coronation portrait doll , circa 1950s, (#2281) by Madame Alexander is getting quite difficult to find. She has beautiful, light brown hair in the original set with thick curls and has lovely blue, clear sleep eyes, perfect eyelashes, closed mouth and pierced ears. Her hard plastic body has the vinyl over-sleeve arms with joints at the elbows, shoulders, hips and knees as well as high-heel shaped feet and pink touches to knees. She wears her tagged: Cissy/Madame Alexander, long gold brocade , taffeta, tulle lined, Court gown with bustle train back, attached, “Order of the Garter” long blue sash with rhinestones, studded stones and pearls as well as her original lace trimmed taffeta panties, seamed long nylon stockings , gold satin high-heeled shoes, long gloves and three original, stone studded bracelets. And she wears her original, gold gem stone encrusted crown. Shown on page 53, Mme. Alexander Dolls 3rd edition-Mandeville. Her gown is crisp and clean without stains or fading. The Jacqueline face was first designed in 1961—which is the date inscribed on the nape of the necks of all Jacqueline Portrait dolls. THE JACQUELINE FACE was created by Madame A. To be “JACKIE” honoring THE FIRST LADY of the same name. But permission was not received from the First Lady so Madame had to only make “JACKIE” DOLLS for one year—1961. However being a brilliant business woman, she chose to save the JACQUELINE DOLL FACE and make subtle changes and re-release it in the 1965 PORTRAIT DOLLS! IT IS SUCH A BEAUTIFUL DOLL FACE! My best guess is the EARLY TAGS did not identify the outfits because Madame may have thought she would only make 18 Portrait Dolls: limited to 6 DESIGNS PER YEAR for the FIRST FIVE YEARS. But when the Portrait Dolls were so successful, she continued the line with 25 additional designs over the next 8 years! ALL RETIRED & RARE TO FIND IN THEIR COMPLETE ORIGINAL ENSEMBLES. Complete with HATS & HOSE & SHOES & PETTICOATS! THIS BEAUTIFUL GODEY DOLL IS SECURELY STRUNG WITH BENT KNEES that “lock” into place when straightened. Her torso & legs are hard plastic, and her slender single piece arms are hard vinyl as is her beautiful head.
