This is a 1959 Blue Mandarin Jacket and Ribbon Skirt Set for the vintage Madame Alexander Cissy doll. The skirt is made from thick satin with ribbons of color and woven gold threads. The jacket is blue and is lined in organdy and features a unique mandarin collar. The jacket is trimmed at the wrists and center front bodice with embroidered ribbon. The jacket color is bright blue and the ribbon skirt appears to be slightly faded in front but brighter in back. The skirt has a couple of small stain spots that I tried to show in the photos. They are small and hard to see unless you know where to look. These things are reflected in the listing price. The skirt is tagged Cissy in center back seam. I have shown large photos so please look at all of them since they are considered part of the description. I usually respond within a short time. Here’s a stunning outfit for the vintage Cissy doll and similar size 20-21 inch fashion dolls. The skirt is rather festive with red, green and gold colors. It’s made of a heavy brushed cotton. Closes in the back with 1 snap. The matching ivory sweater is very pretty with gold snap buttons. The lovely matching fascinator hat is made of a brown burlap material and decorated with pretty feathers and a beautiful pearl brooch. Stretchy chin strap is attached and it comes with a pearl hatpin. Only the skirt, sweater and hat are included in this listing. Items are in excellent condition. Recently, I acquired a Cissy trunk set that contained numerous Cissy outfits, including this hard to find 2pc outfit from 1957. The outfit was a boxed extra and includes a navy, polka dotted, pleated skirt made of polished cotton and accented with flowers at the waist and a sheer nylon blouse accented with lace. Both pieces are tagged. NOTE: I had a really hard time deciding whether or not to sell these 2 pieces together as the condition of each is different. I finally made the decision to sell them together but it’s very important that it be understood that the blouse is NOT in as nice of condition as the skirt. SKIRT CONDITION: the skirt looks wonderful, even after all these decades! Flowers at waist do have a bit of wear from storage. BLOUSE CONDITION: I consider the blouse to be TLC, at least to some degree. Both cuffs need to be mended where the lace meets the nylon material with the right cuff having more areas in need of mending than the left (an example of the issue can be seen in the last pic); there are a few dropped or loose stitches along one of the shoulder seams (see 8th pic); buttons have some wear to the finish; the blouse has just a bit of general soil and the edging that finishes the bottom of the blouse has unraveled a bit on the front edges. This is a lovely example of a Madame Alexander CISSY Doll in the Walking the Dog outfit from 1956. She is missing the blue necklace and the dog, but has the wonderful pink shoes which were exclusive to this outfit. The black velvet skirt is flawless with a perfect magenta pink velvet waistband with metal flowers. Many times the velvet is shredded. Stocking and bloomers are fine. As for this doll no problems, no cracks or splits and wonderful hair. Looking above her left eyebrow there is some black lines, don’t know what they are, but they are there. Netting kind of hides them though. I know I just tore this doll apart but she really is a fantastic looking doll. Her stringing is good and tight. No international orders please. This girl has a beautiful face! She is a painted Cissy with brunette casual hair and bright blue eyes. She has a tiny tub on the end of her nose and she is missing some lashes on her right eye. She has no splits or cracks. Cissy wears a tagged Alexander skirt that is absolutely pristine mint. With the skirt she wears a replica black knit top with a snowflake pin. She has original hose (with some holes) and vintage black shoes with red insoles. The shoe elastic is slightly stretched, but they do stay on. She is missing her slip but has vintage panties. Her hat is artist-made for this outfit. This outfit was a boxed extra from 1958 and is shown on page 106 of Shaws The Cissy Files.
