Yellow ostrich feather trimmed skating outfit is overall dingy/dusty from age. There are stains on the back of the dress. Attached net underskirt with yellow panties. Bright gold skates have wear with broken/missing blades. The skates have molded to her feet-could not remove without damaging them The compo is discolored under the shoes. Jointed at the neck, arms and hips. She is in near perfect condition with no cracks, crazing, or visible marks on her body. Alexander Sonja Henie Ice Skater Doll. She is in excellent. She has all hair and eyelashes. Eyes open and close as they should. Her composition is very clean and shiny and she has. Her clothes have no stains but I think. The yellow color may be faded a bit. Of the dress in the front is becoming separated. From the inside layer at the seam at the neckline. About an inch long. The waist of her panties is just a. Little bit stretched out. The top layer of her dress from. The waist up has several places where the material is separating. In the front and back so the dress needs to be handled. One or two of the circle shiny embellishments on. The dress have fallen off. I have collected one of. Them and will send with her. She has two tiny cracks. On the front of each thigh (see photos below). Has crystallized but her right has not. She still has her. Original hang tag but has several creases and a piece of. Her dress is tagged and her back is marked. We are a smoke free home. This beautiful rare vintage 1939 Sonja Henie Ice Skating doll by Madame Alexander is just wonderful. She is very desirable and for the serious Madame Alexander collector. She is in very good condition. She measures 15 inches tall. Her facial coloring is nice and bright with rosy cheeks and free of any crazing (seldom if ever found on these very old Madame Alexander dolls, thus making her very desirable among series collectors). Her body is also in very good condition with blushed knees that show that she has been wonderfully preserved. Her body is also tightly strung perfect for posing. She is marked on the back of her head with Madame Alexander and what looks like “Sonja”. I have provided photos for you to see. Also her skates are marked Sonja Henie. Her mohair wig is beautiful and still in its original set. She has open and close sleep eyes that are in perfect working condition, with pretty lashes. Her eyes are also nice and clear. She is wearing her original Dress, skates and panties that are in good condition. I was unable to find the tag to the dress, but this is not unusual as some of the early Madame Alexander dolls did not have their clothes tagged. I f you are looking for something extra special to add to your doll collection this would be the doll for you! She is from a non smoking home.
