For your consideration I present to you. 12 Lissy Southern Belle, made in 1963 #1255. It is a very beautiful hard plastic Straight Leg doll. She wears a blue taffeta dress, with three rows of lace from the hemline up. Her dress has a white ribbon sash that ties in the back to form a bow. She wears crinoline and pantaloons with matching lace. Her dress is tagged Madame Alexander as can be seen in one of the pictures. She wears shoes with a snap on the side and socks. Her hand tag read Southern Belle. The value price as listed in the catalogue (last picture) is listed at 1,200.00. This perfect oval-eyed straight-leg walker from 1954 is beautiful in a Little Southern Girl outfit. She comes straight from her original owner. I added the outfit, from another doll. The slip is relatively new. The dress is untagged, and the woman I bought it (and the hat) from had no info about it– she had inherited the doll. I used to think that this outfit had been recently reproduced by the Alexander Company, but now I’m not sure about that– I can’t find any recent ones. This dress looks exactly like the ones from 1953, and if the dress has NOT been reproduced by the Alexander Company, then the only conclusion I can draw is that this one is an original, from 1953. A collector has pointed this out to me, and another has noted that the hat even has a small white feather as part of the decoration– and that is consistent with the photo of the outfit in Patricia Smith’s World of Alexander-kins. It’s the first outfit pictured, on page 13. Additionally: This is a gorgeous doll. Ip paint is perfect– not inside or outside the lips as is often the case, or chipped within the lines. Her cheek color is deep and rich, her eyebrows and lower lashes are perfectly painted and unfaded. Her hair is gorgeous. This doll does not appear to have been played with. I won’t be lowering the price on her–she is well worth what I’m asking. And the more I learn about the dress and hat, the more the value increases. For your consideration, a lovely 1956 Southern Belle’. She is a Bend Knee Walker and tagged Alexander-Kin. She wears an adorable pink taffeta one piece gown. She wears under slip and pantaloons. Her outfit is in excellent condition for its age. No rips tears, discolorations. However, there is a small stain, which I missed due to the many folds of the fabric. With purple veil over her eyes and veil extends around the back of the hat. Her body is in excellent condition no cracks or splits. Walk as it should eyes open and close as they should as well. Double strand white crystal necklace. She has a blonde flip hairdo with curls under the hat. Magenta shoes with fuzzy soles. I also provide you with 2 pages from the “Madame Alexander World of Kins” so that you can see that this doll is an original as madame meant it to be. This is a beautiful doll with a perfectly styled hair do that is unique to only this outfit. Her hair is shiny and still in crisp perfect curls that frame her face. She has beautiful all original coloring and has a lovely matte finish. Her skin tone is nice and even and she has no stains or cracks to her plastic. Her dress is in excellent condition and is very crisp. It has no stains, holes or odors. Under the dress she wears the correct slip and bloomers. The organdy has darkend from age but the elastic is still nice and tight on both the slip and bloomers. Her black fuzzy bottom side snap shoes and socks are in nice condition and show no wear. However I did notice that some of the sueding has come off from age. She wears a beautiful black hat with flower and fruit adornment. The hat is just excellent and has a wonderful shine to it and the flowers/fruit are all in excellent condition as well. Lastly she wears a pair of beautiful rhinestone earrings that are in excellent condition with lots of shine. She comes in her original box labeled 635 which I believe to be the correct number. The box shows lots of wear but it has kept her safe all these years and is original to her. All together this is an excellent example of this doll that will be a great addition to your collection. We are offering this adorable fancy Alexander-kins Wendy from our long time collection. She is a SLW straight leg walker, sleepy eye, She is marked Alex on her back. Original factory, Auburn hair color, with bangs and flip hair style. Her wig is original, T RIPLE. STITCHED, never restyled, clean andThick. Wendy has visible eyebrows and her pretty eyes flicker open and close with ease pretty and clear. No scrapes or scuffs, No redoing, she is all original. Her walking mechanism works when you move her head her legs move back and forth and her arms are strung well and hold a pose. Her dress is white organdy with lots of lace, nice and stiff. The arms of the dress are a tule fabric. She has on her original slip, the elastic in not as tight as it once was at the waist. Under her dress and slip she is wearing long pantaloons, waist is snug. The dress closes in the back with the original snaps, So cute and so fancy. On her head is her original bonnet with stiff straw lace, tiny pink fuzzy flowers are attached to the inside and outside of the hat. Her bonnet closes with the original pink satin ribbons. Wendy Ann’s outfit has never been removed from her, no shelf dust detected, as she has been packed away and still in nice condition for being 61 years old. (See all photos below). This beauty is one of the 1956 “Southern Belles” as sown on p. Smith’s “World of Alexander-kins”. I don’t believe this doll has ever been undressed as the purse is securely tied to her hand and looks to have never been removed. The doll herself is a BKW that has original light blush and a gorgeous blonde triple stitch wig. There are no cracks or stains in her body from me peeking beneath her clothes, but not undressing her. The outfit is glorious. It is complete with the pink taffeta fancy dress in great condition, magenta fuzzy bottom shoes, magenta purse securely tied to her wrist, cotton pantaloons, matching slip, double strand necklace that is silver (I think the white wore off) and fantastic hat. The purple hat is adorned with flowers and net trim. I did not find any holes in the netting. The pantaloons and slip have very relaxed elastic, but they stay up under the dress well enough to display. All in all a true beauty to add to your collection!
