Madame Alexander Dolls

I believe her to be a Kathy doll but I can not be 100% sure as her box is not marked with her name and her outfit is very unique. Her box and dress retain the original store tags from the department store Stix, Baer & Fuller and I think she could have been a store special for them. Stix, Baer & Fuller was only found in St. Louis Missouri and was in operation from 1892 to 1984. This doll and box both have their fashion award medals which means she was produced sometime around 1950. I can not say enough about how beautiful this doll is. Her hair and facial coloring is absolutely pristine! Her hair is a beautiful strawberry blonde color and there is not a single hair out of place. Her hair has a silky shine and her braids are perfect with the most beautiful pink bows at their ends. Her facial coloring is bright and beautiful and she has the most outstanding brown eyes. Her brown eyes are clear and her lashes are nice and full. Her dress and pinafore are also in excellent condition with no holes, stains, tears or odors. The dress is pink with white polka dots and the sleeves and collar are trimmed in organdy. The dress has the remnants of a tag which was located under the collar and appears to be a Madame Alexander tag as you can still see a bit of the dark blue writing. The white organdy pinafore is trimmed with a pink ribbon that exactly matches the bows in her hair. The organdy of the pinafore has aged and is not as white as it once was as seen in the pictures. Under the dress she wears a white slip with attached bloomers. The slip and bloomers close with a square snap and are in excellent condition. The socks and shoes are also excellent with no issues to report. The doll came to us in her original box which has kept her safe all these years but is in terrible condition. It is truly falling apart and when I was picturing the box what was left of the lid broke in half and the rest is being held together with a lot of tape. All that being said it does lend to her originality and shows where the doll came from. This is such a fantastic doll with rare brown eyes and a beautiful dress and she will be a stand out in any collection. Please take a look at all my other Vintage doll offerings this week.
