Welcome to my auctions! She is 20 tall, hard plastic, jointed body with soft vinyl arms. She has lovely blonde hair with original set. Her dress is bright yellow dotted swiss fabric with val lace trim on neckline and added rhinestone trim. Underneath the dress is a white nylon taffeta half slip with tulle double ruffles and matching undies. Her nylons are new and have a tight fit. Also Cissy strap shoes, white nylon straw hat with yellow flowers and bag to match. She also has her white Cissy gloves. Her face is lovely with full lashes, peach eyelids, one stroke brows, blush and red mouth. This outfit was made by a talented seamstress and the hat and bag are by Richard. 1958 Cissy Doll Pink Swiss Dot Shirtwaist Dress Val Lace Flocked Slip Madame Alexander. Okay, I would love to tell you about this absolute beauty. The band in her head connecting her to her body has weakened from age so her head is detached. Her hair appears to be in very original condition but is also detached which is perfect for washing her hair before attaching to head. Nothing stands out to my sniffer, but I’m sure there are reasonable age/storage smells. Her hat is stunning but needs a little coaxing simply from storage. It is in beautiful condition and a confection of Italian straw, tulle and flowers. I removed her dress which is pink swiss dot, semi-sheer with lovely rows of Val lace and rhinestone buttons and earrings. There is some patina to the metal of rhinestones. Her slip is stunning and flocked with an elaborate design that you can see through the dress in a peak a boo fashion. Her body appears to be darn near perfect. Honestly, nothing for me to say but it looks great! Her eyes open and close as they should and appear bright and beautiful! Her stockings are good. Her panties are good. Slip is in great condition. The dress pulled apart in the fold of hem (about 6 inches) which I’ve seen before (a professional seamstress used fusible web and did an amazing job) – web is less than 1/4 width, there is a tear in the hem underneath of hem which has been left as is and really doesn’t pose a problem because the edges are apart of the hem which is stitched down as it was originally. Dress may have slight age discoloration but nothing stands out. I know lace can yellow with age and as I have nothing to compare it to, I can only assume this has happened. Her face is stunning. I see an itty bitty dot which I know will come out with Dawn or something similar but I’m not going to attempt this, it’s not my field. Anything else I believe is glue related to her hair and will be covered by her hair yet again when reattached. I apologize but I don’t know the exact number of this doll/dress. However, after staring at Cissy’s face and her beautiful clothing, I certainly understand the fascination and love for these beauties. I read the following online. When restoring these 75 year old + dolls, great care is taken in having them look like they did when they were mint & new. Color is vibrant, Finish is satiny, features are complete and great effort has been taken to replicate the originality from the factory. Adorable JEANNIE She has her Clear brown sleep eyes. She wears a nice strawberry MOHAIR wig. Her outfit is a factory made Blue Swiss Dot sheer fabric. It has a matching tam, and is in great shape. There are a cotton underslip and panties, Good vintage leather shoes. More beauties listed, so please take a look. Please look at all the pictures. There are good & clear close-ups. The item has been photographed well. The pictures are part of the description & support both the description and condition of the item. You have the option to use the magnification feature as well. Sometimes these 50-80 year old dolls just dont survive the test of time very well. Finding a skilled restorationist is as hard to find as the rare doll itself. This is a ART. A labor of love & mostly a lot of sanding. With these collectible pieces, I have done my best to keep the doll looking as original as possible when the doll was factory made (not what a 80 year old faded doll looks like). With that being said, These are still Vintage & Antique dolls. Composition especially has a lot of factory nuances that other materials do not have. Their imperfections are part of the charm of composition. This doll has been repaired if needed, and eyes will be clear and a appropriate color. There will be no missing fingers or toes. I use paints which are very similar to the ones used by the factory. The overhaul process includes stripping, filling, sanding, priming, airbrush painting, hand painted features & sealing. I pay special attention to the faces and they are completely smooth. I line the head socket with suede. I have been a skilled Artist all my life. 1930′s Madame Alexander Swiss Girl & Boy in Original Boxes and Tagged Clothing. Adorable little dolls in near perfect condition! Each are 9 tall wearing their original clothing in original boxes.
