Hard to find early hard plastic 14 Marme by Madame Alexander in tagged original costume complete including lace stole closed with original bar pin. Auburn looped curls pulled back into remnants of hair net/snood, ribbon finish. Full hair type eyelashes on top lid, painted lashes below, eye sockets appear incised. Tagged gold taffeta gown trimmed with black tiny loop braid at hem and sleeves, black velvet bodice. Attached petticoat and matching lace trimmed pantaloons. Rayon socks, original side snap shoes with bows on toes. Gown has some age spots and a 1/2 tear near the bottom which hides well in the folds of the dress (see photos). The sleeves are becoming detached from the bodice but can easily be re-attached. A snood or hair net is still with the doll and is included. The doll stand is not included. This is a vintage doll. I have tried to fully describe the condition of the doll and clothing after thorough examination. Pictures should be considered part of the description. 1951 Madame Alexander Little Women MARMIE with original J. Hudson box, Detroit, Michigan with receipt and price tag. I’ve been told doll was shown in the FAO Schwartz catalog and the Alexander Doll Company Catalog, also told that department stores repackaged items in their own boxes back in the day, hence the J. Hudson box and receipt (see photos). Doll is in excellent condition, face coloring is excellent, looks like it has never been out of the box, with the exception of one of the black bows on one of her shoes is missing. Doll has original gold wristband that says, FASHION ACADEMY AWARD on one side and FASHION ACADEMY AWARD, MME. RARE Madame Alexander Kins VINTAGE 8 Little Women 1955 Original SLW JO Doll. This beautiful little women Madame Alexander Kin doll is wearing her original dress. The tag is missing. This listing is for a vintage. 1950s Madame Alexander LITTLE WOMEN AMY doll loop curls original fabric tag on back of dress at the neck. The doll is approx 14 tall. I think it may say “alex” on the back of her head? The Amy doll is in very good vintage condition with the light wear and patina you would expect in an item of this vintage. There is a slight bit of discoloration on her petticoat – see photo # 4 at the bottom of the petticoat to the right of center. I’ve also read that some of these dolls can be rather loosely strung – I don’t know if that is the case with this doll or not – her head stays upright when you hold her still but if you move her around (I don’t have a doll stand) it has a tendency to drop forward a little bit. I don’t have a lot of experience with dolls so please let me know if you have any questions. Please see all 12 photos several of which are taken on a 1 ruler grid for relative size purposes. Please look at the pictures I have included to judge the condition for yourself and let me know if you have any questions. Please note also , that the flash and close-up function of my camera shows all of the dust, etc. Which is not visible to the naked eye.
