Madame Alexander Dolls

From our family’s lifelong collection of lovely dolls, we have for your consideration a beautiful 1955 Cissy doll by Madame Alexander. Standing 20 inches in height this doll has a hard plastic body with vinyl arms. The pliable vinyl arms have a very firm “base” from the shoulder to the wrist. The hands are hollow. Cissy is jointed at the neck, shoulders, elbows, hips, and knees. Her medium blonde vinyl hair is in the original set, and her pretty blue sleep eyes work perfectly. All brush lashes are intact. She has a beautiful clear facial complexion and lovely facial coloring. Her hands and knees have the same rosy glow as her cheeks, and her hands and fingers are quite detailed. On the nape of her neck… The clothes on this Cissy doll have never been removed. She is wearing a navy blue taffeta dropped-waist dress with matching bolero jacket. The dress has a sweetheart neckline and short puff sleeves of navy blue tulle. The jacket has three-quarter length sleeves. A black boucle trim accents the jacket edge and the neckline and waist of the dress. A white grosgrain ribbon bow snaps to close the neckline of the jacket. The dress closes in the back with five small snaps. Under her dress Cissy is wearing a white taffeta half slip with elastic waist. Two rows of crinoline are sewn to the bottom of the slip… One to the top side and one to the under side. The crinoline is trimmed with white ric rac. Cissy is wearing nude-colored seamed stockings and white taffeta panties trimmed with a narrow white lace. In the photos you will see what appears to be a faint small brown mark on the back of her left leg. This is just a thread inside her stocking. A price tag is stapled to the crinoline. D91 U5 508 2081 16.95. The tag on the dress reads… “Cissy” by MADAME ALEXANDER. Cissy’s wrist tag is attached to her left wrist with a white string. On the inside of the wrist tag our sweet “collector” wrote the date 12-25-55 in blue fountain pen ink. Completing Cissy’s ensemble… Black strappy high heels, and a lovely wide-brimmed straw hat trimmed in blue with blue netting and white flowers and red berries. Doll stand is not included.
