Madame Alexander Dolls

Very pretty vintage Madame Alexander Cissy doll. From the top of her head to the tips of her toes, she measures approximately 20 inches. She is outfitted in a beautiful yellow satin gown, accessorized with a pair of earrings and a necklace. Underneath there is a matching yellow half slip and stockings. She is carrying a nosegay with tulle surrounding the flowers. She has red hair and blue eyes, which open and close easily. Sometimes her eyes look green, depending on the light! Cissy has been stored in a sealed display case case for the past few decades. She was tacked down to the backing board with stitches through her clothing in several places. I pulled the backing off of the case but did not remove the stitches, in case the new owner wants to display her that way. To the extent I was able to examine her without removing clothing, she appears to be in nice condition. I was able to read the word ALEXANDER on the back of her head. The necklace was held down to her neck with a spot of glue, which has darkened. Her arms were slightly pulled out of their sockets (no doubt due to the position they were in for so many years) but I was able to easily fit them back in. Custom made case measures approximately 26 1/2″ high, 20 1/2″ wide, and 4 deep, and has a hanging wire on the back. There is damage to portions of the trim on the bottom edges of case. Circa 1950′s Madame Alexander 20 Cissy Doll with the original trunk and 15 pieces of clothing if you include her panties. The Black Velvet Ball Gown with sequined bodice is tagged as shown in the photo. The adorable red romper also retains the original tag (please enlarge my photos to view). The rest of the lovely clothing has been lovingly and beautifully made in the 1950′s for this doll. The carrying trunk is clean inside and the latches work perfectly. No dents or damage to the case (it is very sturdy). Cissy has her original wig hair and her arms and legs are jointed. No splits or damage to her skin. Her strawberry blonde hair is soft (the previous owner had it in a pony tail). Her beautiful eyes open and close (she has lost a few eyelashes over the years but still has some). WOW this is one gorgeous Cissy. This doll came to me in the box but her outfit had somehow acquired black stains and could not be saved leaving me with an unplayed with Cissy that is simply stunning. Her coloring is perfection. Her all original highly blushed cheeks are even prettier in person. She has all of her eyelashes and her body is free of cracks or stains. However, there is a red mark on the inside of her crotch area towards the back of it (sorry to be indelicate). Of course this would never been seen, and doesn’t detract in any way, but I felt I needed to mention it. Her beautiful blonde hair is in the original set up top but the bottom portion had to be retied as it had come undone from age. This is a really beautiful Cissy that is going to look fantastic in anything you put on her. Please check out all my listings this week. From a recent estate sale here in the Dallas area, here’s a lovely Cissy in its original box by Madame Alexander. The box has seen better days (please see pictures), but it does have the original label which says Cissy on the left hand side. She has beautiful skin tone. The doll appears to never have been played with. She has brunette hair which is in excellent condition. She has a pink bow in her hair. Her skirt and blouse/jacket are done in a matching pink knit. The blouse has white buttons, but the blouse or jacket actually snaps. The knit skirt is lined in a white fabric. The skirt has several hooks. The knit clothing pieces are not tagged. She is wearing her original stockings and has her original black strap shoes. Underneath she is wearing a lace bodice or teddy. She has her original ring and necklace. The necklace is broken and has some corrosion which has gotten on the dolls neck. This Cissy measures about 20 inches tall. He box is marked. The doll is in excellent condition with no damage or discoloration to the skin tone. Small spots on the neck from the necklace. Appears all original and in unplayed with condition. This special item has been safely resting in acid-free tissue in my cedar closet. A similar item was in the 1962 FAO Schwarz Christmas Catalogue. I do not see these trunk sets very often. I believe this doll is from 1961 or 1962. The trunk is red with cream trim. It is in excellent condition for its age. There are some dents which may be seen in the photos. Jackie is about 20-21 high with her tag. She is in overall, excellent condition. She does have a bit of paleness on her lips. Her hair is a bit flat from living in her trunk. The trunk is 24 high with 2 drawers inside. The items are vintage and therefore, may not be in perfect condition. It is my wish that the new owner enjoy this item as much as I have. I think that this gown was created at a later date for Jackie. Jackie is wearing her classic blue pink-lined suit with matching pink short-sleeved top. She is wearing her pearls, sapphire ring, panties, slip, stockings, black shoes, hat and handbag. I love that the suit has real pockets! The trunk includes a beautiful nightgown with lace robe, 2 two expansive satin netted crinolins for her 2 gowns, a beautiful classic Madame Alexander swing pink coat and hat with a blue velvet bow. It has a Cissy tag. A white satin gown with cape and silver shoes with the Jacqueline Kennedy MA tag, a lovely blue gown with netting, flowers, and a scarf to match, a yellow extra top, and one of my favorites, a beige faux leather jacket with a Jacqueline Kennedy tag. In the 2 drawers are: an extra pair of stockings, 2 pairs of panties, a bra/pantie set, an extra strand of pearls, a beaded bag for her evening wear, 1 glove, brush/mirror set, sun glass frames which are missing the green lens, and a pink-netted summer hat. This doll is in good condition for its age. Madame Alexander Vintage Cissy Doll. 20 Madame Alexander hard plastic Cissy doll. Wigged brown hair; open and close blue-green eyes. Hard plastic head, jointed vinyl arms, hard plastic body and jointed legs. Tagged black taffeta dress. Pink petticoat, edging loose on small part. Extra green Cissy skirt. Some of the clothing has small spots that are torn. No unpleasant odors, from a smoke free home. No missing hair or eyelashes. Head is detached, with a spot on forehead, otherwise nice.
