This is a vintage 1950′s Madame Alexander Cissy Doll. She was played with and was well loved by my mother’s friend when she was a child. She comes from a non-smoking home. This doll has both eyes missing some eyelashes and her head is a bit wobbly. Her gown is tagged with a label that says “Cissy” by Madame Alexander. It has some staining and small bit of something sticky on the right side near the waist I did not want to wash the dress and prehaps ruin it – should be professionally cleaned. She also has a matching pink velvet stole, eyelet half slip and yellow panties. She has pierced ears (no earrings). Her hair is a bit messy and there is some glue showing on either side of her head. Despite all of that she is one of the prettiest dolls I have seen. Shoes and doll stand are not included. This is a rare set of all 5 Dionne Quintuplets made by Madame Alexander in the 1930′s. They are made of composition and have the bent baby legs which I believe were the original dolls made. There are some cracks and chips to the composition and some tears to the fabric. They are the 7 inch size. Please look at both sets of pictures as I tried to take as many as possible. This beautiful very rare vintage 1948 Jane Withers doll by Madame Alexander is just wonderful. She is very desirable and for the serious Madame Alexander collector. She is in very good condition. She measures 17 inches tall. Her beautiful facial coloring is nice and bright with rosy cheeks. Her mohair wig is beautiful and still in its original set. She has open and close sleep eyes that are in perfect working condition, with pretty lashes. Her eyes are also nice and clear. She is wearing what I believe to be her original Dress, hat and panties that are in good condition. I was unable to find the tag to the dress, but this is not unusual as some of the early Madame Alexander dolls did not have their clothes tagged. What makes this doll even more special is that she comes with her 2nd Place Winner Ribbon that she had won at UFDC Contest. The UFDC (United Federation of Doll Clubs) contest is one of the most prestigious doll contests where only the best dolls from all over the world are entered. If you are a serious collector you will know how special this ribbon and doll are. The ribbon is included with he doll as well.
