HER FACIAL COLORING IS VERY GOOD. SHE IS JOINTED AT NECK, SHOULDER, ELBOW, HIP AND KNEE. THE STRINGING IS A BIT LOOSE BUT SHE CAN STILL HOLD A POSE. THERE ARE NO CRACKS OR SPLIT SEAMS AND ALL OF HER FINGERS AND TOES ARE INTACT. SHE WEARS HER ORIGINAL YELLOW SLIPPER SATIN GOWN, A YELLOW NYLON HOOP PETTICOAT WITH ATTACHED UNDERSHORTS, STOCKINGS AND HEELS. THE DRESS HAS SEVERAL SMALL LIGHT STAINS AND IS MISSING ITS TAG, THE WAIST BAND OF THE PETTICOAT IS STRETCHED AND THE RIGHT LEG OF UNDERSHORTS HAS A SMALL TEAR. This is Madame Alexander’s Little Colonel, 1935. Because Madame Alexander did not have the rights to Shirley Temple, they made the BETTY face doll and called it Little Colonel, from the stories and movie. Very Hard to Find and only for a short period of time. I have included the article from Jan Foutz’s book on Hard to Find Madame Alexander’s Dolls. She is marked on her head Alexander. She is 14, all composition closed mouth with no crazing except the split at her eye as so many Compos do and vivid color. Her innocent smile is demure and loving. Her Red mohair wig is in it’s original set, beautiful and shiny. Her outfit is Tagged yellow organdy with red felt flowers attached. Very clean and strong with no deterioration. She has the attached bloomers to her slip, original shoes and socks. Her yellow bonnet is strong condition except for the ribbon. It was twisted around her neck hook and has some pulls and snags. She is strung tight and will hold a pose. The only negative to her is that her eye lens have crystallized. She is such a great doll, it didn’t bother me. She is a lovely doll and a treasure, for sure. Please view the photos as this is apart of the description. She is one of M. S dolls that are very hard to come by and would be a wonderful addition to the Mme Alexander collection. I do not return unless a major oversight has occurred. Thanks for viewing and good luck. Beautiful, early, strung, 8. The doll is in excellent condition The outfit has been laundered (except hat), and may be a bit faded. The slip’s original elastic has been changed It has replaced shoes. This beauty is one of the 1956 “Southern Belles” as sown on p. Smith’s “World of Alexander-kins”. I don’t believe this doll has ever been undressed as the purse is securely tied to her hand and looks to have never been removed. The doll herself is a BKW that has original light blush and a gorgeous blonde triple stitch wig. There are no cracks or stains in her body from me peeking beneath her clothes, but not undressing her. The outfit is glorious. It is complete with the pink taffeta fancy dress in great condition, magenta fuzzy bottom shoes, magenta purse securely tied to her wrist, cotton pantaloons, matching slip, double strand necklace that is silver (I think the white wore off) and fantastic hat. The purple hat is adorned with flowers and net trim. I did not find any holes in the netting. The pantaloons and slip have very relaxed elastic, but they stay up under the dress well enough to display. All in all a true beauty to add to your collection! This listing is for a 1950′s Cissy doll with two outfits, the 1956 Theatre Set and the 1959 Bridal Outfit. This is a TLC lot, meaning that while all the pieces are usable they need some beautifying. The Cissy doll is in good condition, has all her eyelashes and original wig in original set. There is one split on the upper hip on the right leg as pictured for you. It will never show when she is dressed, and it seems stable. Cissy needs blush and lip color to bring out her beauty. The bridal outfit has no stains or tears in the netting. It is complete with the correct necklace, veil, bouquet and slip. It all could use a washing and the sleeves of the dress need elastic as they have relaxed. I think it would be beautiful done up. The Theatre Set had been professionally dry cleaned, and while bright the taffeta seems too flat. The white coat has some light black smudges on the hemline area that didn’t come out. I still think it would be pretty on a doll. So while not perfect, this lot has tons of potential! Please take a look at all my other listings this week. I bought her in November of 2011 when Mrs. She turns her head from side to side as she walks. She has Tosca (Sandy Blonde) hair & Black pupil-less eyes. Her dress, slip & panties are crisp & have never been washed – you can tell by the crispiness of the dress tag. Pretty sure her hat is not original & I believe her shoes should be cream colored, not black. No Box – No Wrist Tag.
