Madame Alexander Dolls

This is a fabulous set of Madame Alexander Little Women. They are the 15 hard plastic walkers from the late 40′s–early 50′s. All of the dolls except Beth came from the same collection. Marme is a bending knee walker! Left to right: Beth, Marme, Amy, Jo, and Meg. Beth is the only one whose clothing has been washed. Hair ribbon replaced with vintage. The heels are missing from her shoes. Eyes open and close nicely. Marme is missing heels off her shoes, and eyes don’t quite close all the way, but they close easily. Amy is missing heels from shoes, eyes work nicely, otherwise mint. Jo is also missing heels from shoes, eyes stick slightly—clothing is mint. Meg has heels on shoes—was missing a black bow from one shoe in the photo, but I found it and re-attached it. Her clothing is mint. Marme and Meg still have hairnets. Marme and Jo have the metal bars across their hair. This is an exceptional collection of dolls. Your chance to get the whole set at once and not have to piece it together! No bad hard plastic odors! Madame Alexander Dionne Quintuplet dolls. Rare with their original swing which has the original tarp. Even more rare is that their outfits match to the swing’s tarp. All dolls are composition with painted faces. All dolls are marked Alexander. The swing is wood with cloth canopy. From the estate of a dollhouse museum / children’s charity founder. All has wear from age and being displayed. Stringing is good on all of them. Notice how they all have a little split right around their nose upper lip region, from the material and manufacture. They will clean up nicely. Tarp needs a little cleaning. One of the swing’s joints has come separated, not broken or anything like that, looks like it is because of the way it was built. Approximate measurements: all five dolls 7″: swing 17.5″ length X 12.25″ height X 8.5″ depth. Items paid for on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday will not be mailed until at least Monday. “Courtyard” #38840 is from 2004 and was l imited to 1000 pieces, so is quite rare. She is dressed in a lovely dress in silvery pastels of aqua and pink with gold embroidery and corset style bodice of brocade. She has blue eyes and her rooted hair is ivory blonde and is styled in a profusion of curls, complemented with several finely crafted bread dough flowers and topped with a sheer pink ribbon bow. The underskirt and petticoats are a silvered pink, and her complimentary satin slippers match her dress and a re complete with gold buckles and cream bows. She is mint with original wrist tag and documentation, although I do not believe she was released with a certificate of authenticity, even though she is limited in production She is in the original box, and as she appears to have never been removed, I chose not to remove for photos. Her hair and head still have the protective netting. Original box is in excellent condition with some very minor shelf wear. I will be including a doll stand if you decide to display. I found her thrown on the bottom of a shelf in a store. She looked like a princess that had fallen on hard times. She’s 20 tall and has jointed arms and legs. She needs a bath and she has some marks on her arms and one on her left knee and thigh. Her hairdo has fallen out but her hair seems to be all there. She’s missing one rhinestone earring but has her ring. She has underwear and the elastic is fine, but the elastic in her slip has dry rotted. Her peach shirt waist dress still has all its rhinestone buttons and the snap, but it has a small tear in the front, one at the shoulder seam and some small stains on the back of the sleeves and in the front. The lace on her slip has separated in a few spots. Her eyelashes seem to all be there. Her face needs washing but it’s beautiful. Nice coloring on her cheeks and her lips look good. Her eyes are a pretty green and they open and close well. Please ask any questions and I’ll do my best to answer them or send more pictures. Thank you for looking at the damsel in distress!
