Vintage Madame Alexander Cissy doll in lavender tagged dress, panties, and stockings. Doll has no breaks she is soft vinyl and hard plastic. Marked on back of head “Alexander”. Her right eye lashes are partially missing. There are some black marks on her neck at seam with her head. Dress is not torn or stained, it needs pressing for wrinkles, missing small flower at neckline. Dress is 2 pieces dress & shrug. Included are her stockings which are good no holes or runs, and her panties which are also in good condition with no rips , elastic seems to have loosened I don’t know if they are the original ones. I consider myself a lucky person to have owned such a rare & stunning example of Madame Alexander’s dolls. This beauty was nicknamed “Waltz Doll, ” perhaps because when looking at her it’s easy to imagine her twirling around the dance floor, this luxurious blue satin gown flowing around & behind her. What a beautiful vision! Cissy’s tagged blue slipper satin gown is in very good condition for its age. The are no holes, rips or tears. It’s not mint; there is some faint staining & scuffing here & there, although you can see from her photographs how beautifully it displays. I mention these things because they can be seen with heaving spotlighting, but on normal display these imperfections seem to melt away with the folds & beauty of the satin. It’s not perfect, but breathtaking none-the-less. The beautiful front decorative braiding is studded with both clear & blue rhinestones (all are present) and metallic silver thread. Closure is at the back with five square snaps. Underneath Cissy wears the original taffeta panties and original slip elastic at the waist has relaxed on both, and was re-tightened with elastic thread; there is some light age spotting. The slip has an extra-wide bottom flounce trimmed with the blue satin which matches the gown. Cissy has vintage hosiery and her original silver strappy sandals. This Cissy didn’t have pierced ears, but has small half rhinestones on each lobe. She wears her vintage “diamond” ring, and a silver & rhinestone bracelet made in the likeness of the original. Both her spectacular vintage floral bandeau & white feather fan with pewter fleur-de-lis were reconstructed with complete respect to the original design. I’m perhaps prejudiced, but I do believe this is one of the most beautiful Cissys Madame Alexander created. She is completely original and has only been re-matted to protect her gorgeous color & features. Several items given this doll were never again used on any other Cissy – the most prominent being her stunning thick light brown wig, with both longer bangs & longer curls tied at the back. Underneath her dress, her 3 layers of net tulle kind of sticks together and I dont want to pull the layers apart, as shes 71 years old. This doll is in un-handled condition, which is why she is still in mint condition. Gently lifting her net tulle from underneath, I see no major rips or tears, or anything remotely like that. Shiny, pink taffeta bloomers embellished with scalloped, Belgium Val Lace! Super shiny, red, mohair wig with braiding across the crown of her head and coiling at the sides! Her silk ballerina shoes are excellent. Vibrant feathered eyebrows, and lower painted lashes! Thick, upper sable lashes! Vibrant matte, cheek color and dark, Smokey eyes shadow! Also, beautiful palm and knee color. Composition is awesome due to the southern CA dry climate! I dont see any crazing which is very unusual. Please forgive light reflections showing as white spots. 1939 17 Alexander SCARLETT O’HARA Gone with the Wind composition doll. She has fine crazing all over but no chips or breaks or lifting. Marked alexander on the back of her neck. Whites of eyes have darkened with age, they do “sleep”, she has nice upper real lashes and painted lower lashes. Some paint loss on lower lip (see pic). She is wearing her original tagged outfit which is in very nice condition. Includes dress, slip, pantaloons, socks, shoes and hat. Her hat does have cracks (see pics), but to me it doesnt take away from her beauty. Her shoes do have paint loss (see pic). Very nice displayed condition, please check all the pictures carefully. Some have never been removed from box, some have been displayed and then placed back in the box and others were displayed and I don’t have the box. They all are in amazing condition! Clean and odor free.
