Madame Alexander Dolls

I consider myself a lucky person to have owned such a rare & stunning example of Madame Alexander’s dolls. This beauty was nicknamed “Waltz Doll, ” perhaps because when looking at her it’s easy to imagine her twirling around the dance floor, this luxurious blue satin gown flowing around & behind her. What a beautiful vision! Cissy’s tagged blue slipper satin gown is in very good condition for its age. The are no holes, rips or tears. It’s not mint; there is some faint staining & scuffing here & there, although you can see from her photographs how beautifully it displays. I mention these things because they can be seen with heaving spotlighting, but on normal display these imperfections seem to melt away with the folds & beauty of the satin. It’s not perfect, but breathtaking none-the-less. The beautiful front decorative braiding is studded with both clear & blue rhinestones (all are present) and metallic silver thread. Closure is at the back with five square snaps. Underneath Cissy wears the original taffeta panties and original slip elastic at the waist has relaxed on both, and was re-tightened with elastic thread; there is some light age spotting. The slip has an extra-wide bottom flounce trimmed with the blue satin which matches the gown. Cissy has vintage hosiery and her original silver strappy sandals. This Cissy didn’t have pierced ears, but has small half rhinestones on each lobe. She wears her vintage “diamond” ring, and a silver & rhinestone bracelet made in the likeness of the original. Both her spectacular floral bandeau & white feather fan with fleur-de-lis were reconstructed with complete respect to the original design. I’m perhaps prejudiced, but I do believe this is one of the most beautiful Cissys Madame Alexander created. She is completely original and has only been re-matted to protect her gorgeous features. Several items this doll has were never again used on any other Cissy – the most prominent being her stunning thick light brown wig, with both longer bangs & longer curls tied at the back. This doll is 20 and has a blonde wig-I believe her to be Madame Alexander Cissy Doll-I could find no markings on her body her hair is styled pretty but is real stiff like lots of hair spray, I’ve been told she is marked on her neck but hair covers it and hair doesn’t move, I didn’t want to mess up her wig-I believe she has been standing in heels and this suit since she was much younger. Her lashes has some hair missing in middle please see photos-her blue/green eyes open and close well-her arms and legs bend well. She still has clean body with rosy tone on her knees-arms are a vinyl and they have yellowed compared to hard body. Please note: I’m not a doll collector so didn’t try to clean her, just undressed and took photos-I have more photos and can take more to show something of interest. I do not see any cracks or splits in the hard plastic in the legs or lower torso seam. I took close up of face, her lips have color and it looks a light smear of color from lips that might clean off but I didn’t try. Other than the lashes being missing-there is a small discoloration below her breast beside navel , I did take closeup. See last 3 photos. Her clothes are included and all shown in photos. She comes with panties-elastic is stretched in waist. Hose with seam up back. Shoes elastic has stretched in tops of them. Taffeta, I think, petticoat. Pink evening gown tag has faded but it says Ft Worth-I think it says hand made original from Ft Worth but tag is faded.
