Vintage 1957-58 Madame Alexander Cissette doll. Golden blonde hair, triple stitched part. Wearing tagged red and white polka dot dress. Matching panties, red molded plastic. Red straw cloche hat with veil and red velvet flowers. Presented here is a fabulous 1950′s Madame Alexander Cissette doll. She has golden blonde hair with a stitched part wig, still in most of the original lovely curls, the hair is longer length in back, she has bangs and there is stitching at the bangs. The eyes open and close freely, hard upper lashes, painted under lashes, single stroke brows, coral mouth, nice coloring. She has pierced ears with double pearl drop earrings. The doll is hard plastic, bent knee, good strings, holds a pose well, marked on the back; MME Alexander, no splits. She is wearing the original tagged white dress with red polka dots, red rick rack trim on the bodice. She has matching panties and red molded plastic high heels with bows on the toes. Her hat is adorable, red straw, cloche style with white veil draped to the back and red velvet flowers. The clothing is all in excellent vintage condition. More commonly seen in aqua with different detail at neck. Please look over the photos carefully and READ the complete description. I strive for accuracy and do not use photo-shop in my listings. I will be listing various Cissy and Elise dolls as well as clothing and accessories. This doll is a phenomenal example of an early Cissy doll. It is so difficult to find them in this condition. She has the loveliest complexion with rosy beige undertones and velvety patina. DOLL: 1956 painted doll. Her body has a good heavy balanced weight and she hold a pose well. She was able to balance on her own for this photo shoot! CLOTHING: VHTF variation Dress is mint. It is made of a vibrant marine blue lightweight taffeta. Dress has not been washed or ironed. Sash is also mint with original flower. The coat has some yellowing, especially on the coin trim. The ivory satin also shows some foxxing. It should soak well in oxi, leaving up to new owner to decide. Coat may have been ironed. Replaced elastic in shoes. Can pose and balance unaided. No splits or cracks. FACE: What can I say??? I LOVE a factory finish on an early doll. The velvet finish is so warm snd inviting. Some photograph like a dream and she is one of those. She has been lightly wiped down to remove any dust. Her right cheek is original, left cheek very slightly airbrushed to match, sealed. Lips have had a satin overcoat. EYES: BLUE, yep, her eyes are still BLUE. Her eyes are clear… Not a drop of yellowing… All original eyebrows and painted underlashes. Her eyelashes are full. Replaced brush lashes on right eye, filled on left eye. WIG: blonde up-do with most of the original hair ties and pins, has not been combed out etc. Good shine, wig curl is factory set and tight. REFERENCE PAGES FROM CISSY! BOOK: pg 78-79, 216-217. NOTES: My home is pet free and smoke free. As the dolls are 60 plus years old I cannot verify their previous conditions. You can rest assured that dolls I sell are odor free unless otherwise stated. This is the Pink Wallpaper dress from 1956. Dress of cotton wallpaper print with ribbons and roses pattern. Puffed sleeves trimmed with Val lace. Natural waist with shorter length of 7 on skirt. Hem is narrower, 1 1/2. Sewn horizontal pleat in back bodice. There is light fading on the bodice. Otherwise very pretty and hard to find dress. All snaps are present. Not perfect but a very beautiful hard to find dress. Slip and stand are not included. My dolls are all around 50-80 years old. I consider them TLC and some are in better condition than others. She does not come with her box. After Moving her box and her dog, hat and necklace, etc were not found again. I gave her another necklace which has a magnetic fastener. She was not played with only displayed. Her dress, nylons and shoes have always been on her and even the tissue under her dress is still there. In my opinion she is in very good condition. She is from a non smoking, no cats or shedding dogs and no direct sunlight in the room. Again, consider as is. She will come in a box and well padded BUT NOT HER ORIGINAL AND NOT MADAME ALEX BOX. Vintage Madame Alexander Margaret Ballerina Hard Plastic Doll 14. Near mint for this early example. Plastic is clean and bright. The mohair wig is perfect.
