Lovely, red head Cissy wearing only her earrings. Made by Madame Alexander in the 1950s. She is 20 inches tall with sleep eyes, full lashes and a fully jointed hard plastic body; all joints work well. Her wig with great red hair is in the original style and good condition. The doll is in excellent, original condition with no damage, splits or cracks. She could use light cleaning to remove a couple marks at her waist and a rub mark at the neck socket. Cissy is dressing for an evening out. She is wearing a very nice bra, girdle, and garter set in excellent condition. I believe the undergarments were made by Premier, but there are no tags. The elastic in the girdle is in wonderful condition for its age, with no stretching or relaxing to the elastic. The items are clean and have no signs of play or display wear. There is also a second bra that came with this set. It has a little different pattern to it, but the same style. I have added a new pair of nylons. Cissy herself is very clean and has no odors, cracks, stains or chews. She has had a small repair done to a 1/4 split in the crotch seam. It is very thin, but I was able to get some bonding material inside the split. She has some small scratches on her back and a couple on her buttocks. She has a couple of faint smudge type stains on her upper arms. She is newly restrung to head and arms. Her arms are a nice match and have no rips or tears in the socket area. She has earring holes. She has had new blush and matte sealer applied. Her lips and brows are repainted. Her eyes have full lashes and they have been reset. Her hair is clean and retains it’s original curls. She is absolutely Stunning! Madame Alexander Composition Bride with the Wendy Ann facial mold. She stands 14 tall, full composition, very light if any crazing, no crack, missing composition, her stringing is good, she displays Elegantly. She wears her complete bridal ensemble, gown which is tagged, long tulle lace trimmed veil with original flowers, back tie lace trimmed panties also her vintage cream rayon socks, cream leatherette side snap shoes with toe bows, one shoe missing the heel, and her original bouquet. Wendy Ann is circa 1930′s-40′s, Her gown is a beautiful soft satin with 2 small bouquets of lily of the valley and leaves, a few vintage 1930′s millinery lily of the valley were added, these are at the bottom front area of her gown, which is trimmed at the hem and wrists with a metallic rope trim. The gown is clean, no rips, holes, tears or stains, closing in the back with 2 square snaps. Her veil is as mentioned a long train style with lace edging, 2 ruffled shorter layers on top with the original lily of the valley flowers and leaves, again some 1930′s vintage ones added, veil has an attached elastic chin strap, not stretched out, the back lower veil train has an area with 3 tiny holes together, and 2 mended areas, see pictures. Wendy Ann has the pensive expression, clear glassene Rootbeer colored sleep eyes, nicely blushed cheeks, rose red pursed lips, lower painted lashes, upper horsehair lashes, smoke gray eye shadow, and thin stroked brows. She has her original Honey Blonde Mohair wig, in original set of soft curls that frame her face and around the nape of her neck, no missing or balding areas, Time has Stood Still for this Vintage Bride!! BEAUTIFUL Rare 14 1949-50 MADAME ALEXANDER LUCY BRIDE. Up for sale is a very nice Madame Alexander doll from around 1949-50. She has been stored in a glass cabinet. She has on an elaborate white satin gown that is trimmed in lace and rhinestones. Her slip, panties, hose and shoes are also original. The shoes do show some wear. Hose have a hole. The gown is a little wrinkled. Her blonde hair is in original do. Face is nice and eyes are working good with full eyelashes. Her veil is not in great shape with several holes. I tried to show it. Here’s a stunning outfit for the vintage Cissy doll and similar size 20-21 inch fashion dolls. The skirt is rather festive with red, green and gold colors. It’s made of a heavy brushed cotton. Closes in the back with 1 snap. The matching ivory sweater is very pretty with gold snap buttons. The lovely matching fascinator hat is made of a brown burlap material and decorated with pretty feathers and a beautiful pearl brooch. All of these dolls look different! I would like to meet a Madame Alexander doll Artist! Madame Alexander spared no fabric or lace for her dolls and she used only the best. This doll is clean and sanitized! I removed all her old stuffing and put in new Kapok and cotton stuffing. What a undertaken that was! It takes months sometimes years to restore one of these dolls! I also gave her a new crier. She sounds like a kitten crying! You will love it. Her vinyl is soft. She has one small birthmark on the back of her leg. It looks just like a small birthmark! Her dress , slip , diaper and booties are original to her. They have been restored. Her bonnet has been handmade to match her dress. Her sweater is cashmere and adorned with crochet work. It is so soft. She comes with her pearl handmade bracelet with kitten on it. You won’t be disappointed in this doll! If your not happy with her I will take her back!
