This is an amazing Elise from 1964. This is a transition Elise so she is hard plastic except for her head and arms. She wears a gorgeous peachy/pink ball gown that is full of gorgeous lace. I believe its very difficult to find this dress in this color. The bodice is Val lace too. Her original dress is beautiful and she has two slips, a pink with Val lace that does have a few stains on it and a white full slip however, the elastic has stretched and needs to be sewn. She has brunette hair that is glossy and beautiful – full of curl! Her color is really nice and she has beautiful coral lips. Shes wearing her original pink shoes. Overall a lovely doll! Madame Alexander created this exclusive/limited edition set for FAO Schwarz to commemorate the I Love Lucy TV show, featuring Lucille Ball, Desi Arnez, and others. The set is all in black and white, just like the show that entertained so many during that time. Comes complete with all accessories ie. Ricky’s bongo drum, Fred’s newspaper, and clothing accessories. Also comes with all MA papers and Certificates. There is also a note from Desi Arnez’s personal tailor explaining the making of the doll Ricky’s suit. Box is in excellent condition. She is from the late 1950′s and is in mint condition. She has shiny brunette hair in perfect condition, beautiful face paint with very high color cheeks. Her body is quite perfect and her joints and knees work very well. She has the slightest bit of pink blushing on her bum from her red panties but it’s very, very slight and I thought is was factory blushing at first glance. Her dress is perfect and tagged and she doesn’t have her hoop petticoat on at the moment and it needs a bit of steam but it’s in perfect shape. Her hose are great, one small hole in the toe and her black shoe elastic is still quite good. She has no odors and has been packed away in a heated closet in a no smoking environment. This is a beautiful 1960 Belle of the Ball Cissy doll by Madame Alexander. She needs the help of a good seamstress to restore the gown and the slip to its original glory. Once that is done she will make a stunning example of one of Madame Alexander’s most desirable Cissy dolls. The photos show the destroyed layers of tulle and netting on her skirt section as well as broken tulle on the sleeves and on the bodice. Cissy’s outfit will need a full restoration, but I know there are expert seamstresses out there who can and should tackle this project to bring her back to her full glory. The crinoline fabric on the slip is also fragile and is cracking in several places so replacing that will also be desirable. I also found the purple ribbon that will recreate her original hairbow which is included. Cissy has so much going for her. Her hair, although a bit mussed, is still in its original set. She wears her original earrings. She has no seam splits and is strung snugly. Her face coloring is nice and clear and her eyes are blue. She wears her original panties with only very slightly loose elastic at the waist, stockings that seem to have a yellowish tone to them so I don’t know if they are original but she came wearing them, and her original lilac strappy heels with elastic that is still pretty snug. The best part of this doll besides her beauty is the wonderful condition of the floral swag and shoulder bouquets of pink roses and white buttercups. The gown still has its original Cissy tag. She also wears her original lilac mitts/gauntlets. I seem to recall that she came to me wearing a clear rhinestone ring as there is a darkening on her ring finger but it is no longer there.
