Cissy blossoms as the world’s only haute’ couture doll. This is from Madame Alexander’s 1997 Collection called Calla Lily Evening Column & Bolero (Limited Edition) from the Platinum Collection. Cissy is 21 in height and in vinyl and hard plastic. Bouquets of jeweled iris and narcissus are lavishly hand-beaded onto Cissy’s Calla Lily Evening Column and Bolero, entwined with leaves and butterflies over a ruffled organza skirt. The organza calla lily petal bolero frames her face. She wears dragonfly jewel pins and calla lily jewels. The original page from the 1997 Madame Alexander catalog is included. She is stunning and is in excellent condition. She has her original box but, not the original pink tissue. She comes with a doll stand. From a smoke free home. For sale is Cissy’s HTF tagged taffeta dress and bolero from 1957, along with an adorable pillbox hat, Premier suede purse with rhinestone detail and hankie, black nylon gloves, and a vintage watch with band to match the dress. This dress and bolero is usually referred to as navy, but I see it as a sapphire blue. There is a beautiful sequin decoration on the bolero closure that really dazzles. All snaps are secure. I have had this outfit for some time, but never displayed it. There is some wrinkling from storage, so a light press would be beneficial. The outfit is in excellent condition. The rhinestones on the Premier purse are bright and sparkly. A lace-trimmed nylon hankie peeks out from one side. The gloves are not vintage. They have never been used. The pillbox hat is black straw with black velvet trim around the perimeter. It formerly had some little rhinestones on the front until my granddaughter managed to pop them off. I replaced them with a grosgrain bow that can be worn to the front, either side, or back–whatever pleases you. The hat is a Richard Original with the aforementioned change. The little watch is on its original card and was never intended to be removed before it went on the doll that would wear this outfit. The blue band matches the dress so well. A Cissy doll is modeling the outfit (minus the watch) in the last two pictures, but she, her shoes, and stand are not included in this listing. This is a very striking outfit for your Cissy. Here’s a truly gorgeous vintage Madame Alexander Cissy doll in very good condition. She comes wearing original tagged dark blue taffeta dress with matching straw hat, bolero cape with bow, original panties, replacement pink crinoline, replacement ivory high heel shoes and stockings, vintage rhinestone ring and rhinestone earrings which are glued on. (This outfit is not original to this particular Cissy doll). She has clear blue-gray eyes, red lips, blushed cheeks, and eyeshadow. Her wig which is original to the 1957 Cissy Queen doll is a pretty chestnut brown color with upswept sides….. Matches her complexion perfectly. She has blushed hands and knees. Her eyes open and close and she has no missing lashes. Sometimes her head needs a little nudge to help them open. I see no cracks, splits or tears. She is strung well and holds poses. This doll has no major flaws. There are a few minor ones which I will mention. There are a few age related rub marks at the tops of her legs. There are two tiny faint spots on the underside of her left wrist which are hard to notice. A spot of paint is missing on her left eyelid which of course can only be seen when her eyes are shut. If held under a bright light, there are a few places around her wig showing a very slight bit of glue residue. This is hard to see in normal lighting. One leg is a tiny bit shorter than the other as is sometimes common with these dolls. Please note that all of these flaws are very minor for a doll over sixty years old. She’s stunning and displays beautifully. Her clothes are in very good to excellent condition. The dress is lovely with no tears or stains. Still nice and crisp. The hat is missing a small amount of trim near the back. The chin strap is still attached and is in great shape. Her cape is slightly separated at the left seam in the front. Vintage 1954-55 Madame Alexander Cissy Doll In #2044 Navy with Bolero 1955 Dress and Bolero. This is a Madame Alexander Cissy that is in very good condition. She is just gorgeous! Her hair has been washed and restyled in its original curls which includes her original hairpins. Her hair has NOT been cut, it is styled in the bob curled style. Her hairpins can be removed but I will leave that up to the new owner so her curls stay in place. Both her head and arms have been restrung and she now does not have a floppy head. Her eyes open and close easily. She has all her original brush lashes. Her knees bend appropriately as shown in the photos. Both lock in place easily. Hands and knees have nice blush marks still present. She has no cracks or stress fractures or structural issues. She does have some paint missing on both legs at the upper inner thighs and around her neck area. Doll has no foul odors. Her dress is tagged appropriately and there are no holes. It snaps closed with five square snaps. Her bolero has the white snap ribbon and has no issues. I also do not have her original hat but have replaced it with a vintage straw hat that is similar to the one referenced in the stock photo provided. She is wearing full length nylons that are run free and stay up nicely. She also has appropriate black strap shoes that are not stretched. Her panties are original Cissy ivory taffeta lace lined. Doll has a replaced pearl necklace and she has a nice gold tone iridescent shiny stone ring. This doll would be a wonderful addition to add to your collection. She will come carefully packed, but NO doll stand will be provided. I have included a reference photo from the book Cissy Reference Rarities Restoration by Shaw on page 51. This is a MADAME ALEXANDER Cissy who is in amazing condition and all original. I have carefully inspected this doll including shining a flash light on her legs and there are no cracks or splits of any kind and she has a beautiful face with very good coloring and gorgeous blue eyes. Her blonde hair is in its original perfect set. The only flaw is the white dotted netting on the hat which is in fragile condition. I just leave the hat on the doll and don’t touch it. I don’t see this hat often and this one is very good. I don’t believe this hat was ever taken off the doll. The navy blue dress is nice and full with no stains or holes. Her matching bolero is also very nice. She does have two slips which I do think one was added but makes the dress stand out even better. The perfect pink and gold hatbox is empty and comes with her. This doll is exactly as I bought her years ago and I do not undress these original dolls. No international orders please and Thanks so much for looking. Here for your consideration is a lovely blonde vintage Madame Alexander 21 Cissy Doll dressed in her minty tagged navy blue Cissy outfit from 1955. This outfit is often referred to as “Navy with Bolero 1955″. Dress (Mint): The dark navy blue dress and matching bolero are in mint condition. The taffeta is crisp. There are no rips, tears, holes, stains, or odors. There are five snaps running down the back of the dress and they are all present and attached. The armhole tulle is there. The little white grosgrain bow is attached as is the snap. Hat (Mint): The hat is in mint condition. The elastic that secures the hat under Cissy’s chin is present and not stretched. The wire within the brim of the hat is flexible and allows the hat to be molded. I dipped the brim in a bit just because I liked the look but I flatten the brim out when I removed the hat. Slip (Excellent) : The slip is vintage and there are no rips, tears, holes, stains, or odors. I took the waist band in a little bit because the elastic had stretched. This slip is exactly the length of the dress so if it is not tight on the doll’s waist it can slip down and reveal itself. The rick rack is a little larger than I’m use to seeing on Cissy’s slips. I don’t know if larger rick rack was used back in 1955 or if the rick rack was added later. Regardless, the slip is beautifully full and works perfectly with the dress. Panties (Not Original): Cissy is missing her original panties. She is wearing a sweet vintage girdle instead. (Perhaps she thought she needed the support). Stockings (Excellent) : The stockings are in excellent condition. They are vintage but were not made by the Alexander doll Company. I say this because the top elastic is brown rather than pink. The nylons have retained most of their elasticity. Shoes (Not Original) : The navy blue shoes are not original but they go nicely with this outfit. Gloves (Very Good): The vintage white nylon gloves are in very good condition for their age. There is a little staining on the seams of the fingers from the thread. Hat Box (Excellent): Pink Madame Alexander hat box with the. Fashion Academy Awards medallion attached to the elastic. The box is in excellent condition and empty. Two strand pearl necklace and two pearl bracelets. Doll (Excellent) : Cissy has beautiful facial coloring, full lashes, and crystal clear blue sleep eyes. Her blonde hair is thick and almost in its original set. Both of her knees bend with ease as do her arms. There are no cracks or splits. She will come to you wearing a hairnet so that her hair stays in place. Her only drawback and it’s minor is that her head has a tendency to tilt back a little when you lift her up but it’s easily put back into place and it will stay where you place it. This gorgeous creature is Cissy, made by Madame Alexander in 1956. She comes from an estate collection that featured many Cissy dolls and their vast wardrobe. I do not believe this doll has ever even been undressed. In fact, I did not undress her because her factory wrist tag is still attached to her left wrist, and I was not able to pull the sleeve of her bolero off her arm for fear of hurting the paper tag. So, I just pulled her clothing up, down and to the side to show you as much of her body as I can. However, I have a lot more photos; if you wish to see a close up of a particular part of this doll, please let me know and I’ll show you. Cissy is wearing her aqua taffeta dress with cap sleeves and a drop waist, with a fitted bodice. It closes with four square original snaps in back. The dress has the Cissy tag sewn into the back neckline. She wears a black velvet bolero with pink rose corsage in front. Underneath she wears her original pink tulle and taffeta half slip. She has on nylon stockings with seams up the back, and her strappy black velvet high heel sandals / shoes. Cissy has her original black velvet headband type hat with attached flowers and black netting decorated with tiny pink flowers. The hat has a gold chin strap. She wears an aquamarine rhinestone ring on her right hand, and her original pearl earrings. There is a pearl elastic bracelet on her left hand but there are spaces without pears and it seems to me to not be original. The wrist tag is the charming “To all little girls” letter design from Madame Alexander. Cissy has aqua blue eyes that open and close as they should, and all her eyelashes. Her eyes match her dress pretty well! Her makeup is pretty and still quite vibrant. Her arms and head hold a pose. I don’t see any splits to the plastic or cracks. There is a little white scuff to her right way upper thigh. No chews or anything of that nature. Between the ring finger and little finger of her right hand is a little…. See close up photo; it looks like a factory thing, to the vinyl. Very small and I didn’t notice until I blew up the photos. The outfit is lovely but not perfect. I see some yellowing and spots on the dress; might soak out with Oxyclean or similar but I didn’t even think to try. No holes in the stockings, a modern miracle! Shoes fit nice and snug. The hat is darling but the net has several tears. The hat seems to be pinned down to her head so I did not try to remove it. Cissy is from a nonsmoking home.
