Beautiful Rare 21 Madame Alexander Bride doll. It is difficult to find this larger size. Bridal bouquet , and veil. Minimal wear- see photos. Shoes are a bit dry, dress is in unstained condition- no tears etc. Very minimal scratching/ soil on body. Jointed with moving eyelids. Elastic needs to be replaced as it is very loose. It belonged to and was a childhood gift to a friend who is now 80 years old. She can’t remember when she received it as a young child exactly… Around age 5 or 6 perhaps.. Here for your consideration is the Madame Alexander opera gown introduced in 1957. It is in beautiful condition with only very minor issues noted below. Also included is the powder blue taffeta slip. The gown is a lace print on heavy faille. It is sleeveless with a plunging “v” neckline and a very full skirt. Yards of fabric must have been used to construct these gowns. Hard to imagine that being repeated in today’s economy. Anyway, the gown has an attached blue velvet sash accented with pink and blue roses. In the back, the gown closes with four snaps. The “Cissy” tag is sewn into a seam on the inside. I have to be very picky here to find fault with this garment. The sash may be faded a bit but it’s hard to tell without seeing a “new” one to compare it to. One half of the lowest snap is coming loose. Also, there is a faint pink mark near the third snap. That’s pretty much it. It’s a lovely garment! The light blue taffeta slip has a gathered tulle ruffle around the bottom. It has not fared quite as well as the gown. The elastic has stretched out at the waist and there are places where the taffeta has pulled away from the elastic. There are a few faint spots on the slip but I could not get them to show up in the photo. Please ask any questions you may have in case I missed something important to you. Marked “ALEXANDER” on back of head. Complete with original Earrings. Here’s a great “CISSY” for your collection. Her mature figure, jointed limbs and high-heeled feet made her a fashion doll classic in the 1950′s. Her body is hard plastic, and her arms are vinyl. Her head turns, and the shoulders, elbows, hips, and knees are jointed. Her “sleep” eyes work well and the lashes are full – see the photos. Her “lipstick” is intact with no chips or scratches to the color. Cissy comes complete with her original rhinestone earrings. Her wig, which is detached, is a redhead. Some of the original style can be seen but the wig does need some TLC. She is wearing panties that are stretched out and certainly look her age, but I don’t know if they were original. This Cissy is in excellent condition. The only issue can be seen in the second photo – One little piece of vinyl pops out of the arm joint when the arm is lowered – it can just be pushed back in to the joint – It’s mentioned here for complete accuracy. G’day from Down Under I’ve been collecting Madame Alexander dolls, and in particular Alexanderkins, for quite a lot of years now. Started with Cissy, Lissy and Maggie, and then moved on to the smaller dolls when space became an issue. Having recently downsized our living arrangements yet again (which means even less room for displaying my dolls) I have struggled with the idea of letting some of them go (I have around 100, many of them pretty close to mint condition) but now I realise it’s time to do this. This one is a 1953 straight leg non walker, brunette triple stitched wig is lovely set, and wearing an outfit that includes pink floral jumper dress with white ric rac, and a one piece romper in pink, also with white ric rac. The bonnet matches the romper fabric, and as you can see, the outfit still has it’s Alexanderkin tag attached. Flutter eyes are blue and move freely. Shoes are top-stitched black with fuzzy soles, as it typical of the kins of this early era. Socks are the typical rayon in white, and the whole outfit comes together beautifully in my opinion. She has a little blush left on her cheeks, her brows are still there, and her under-eye lashes are very dark. She stands on her own without any difficulty; she is well strung and holds a pose well as the first pic shows. All original and Gorgeous 1953 Beaux Art Queen Elizabeth coronation doll in excellent condition. This beauty is 18 inches and absolutely complete. Her hair is exquisite, her dress is divine and she comes with her fur cape and hat box. Her face coloring is bright and beautiful. She has all her jewelry and white fingerless gloves, and even her sash has all its jewels hard to find this doll this complete! Her gorgeous brocade dress is clean and crisp with no stains, odors, fading or tearing. Her hair is still perfectly placed in its original set and her finger curls are crisp and beautiful, molded around her elegant crown. Her facial painting is bright and perfect. Her blush is gorgeous! The only tiny imperfection I can find is some very slight fading on one eyebrow. She is wearing white fingerless gloves with her original bracelets–all jewels intact. She also has her original drop pear earrings and her jeweled blue sash. Take a close look at her sash, it has all its original jewels on it!!!! It’s hard to find this doll in this exquisite condition and so complete. She has on her original slip and shoes and comes with her soft white cape and black hat box. Her head is just a bit wobbly but her arms are fine and her knees bend well. Her hair is an amazing copper penny color, shiny and perfect. Her face paint is very high color and quite flawless. Her outfit is crisp and looks like it came right from the store. She comes with an extra pair of shoes and is wearing a bracelet and ring. Under her outfit she is wearing a black lace teddy. She is in her original box which is not in good shape (as you can see) but still is her original box. I have taken 3 more close up photos outside in bright sunlight. I’m afraid they’re still not quite as sharp as I would like but a new camera is coming. There is a bit of wear on the paint on her neck mostly on her right side. I don’t notice it in regular light but in bright light there is a bit of very subtle mottling mostly on the outside of her left eye. Her cheek color is amazing as are her eyebrows and lips.
