The dress is paired with a “Richard Originals” platter hat and purse combo in white straw with aqua silk flowers rhinestone accents and a cute striped ribbon on the hat. This style of hat was very popular in the 1950′s. The tagged dress is aqua taffeta. I don’t see any holes tears rips stains or odors to the dress. It is in very nice condition for it’s age and displays very well. Also included is a pretty white bead necklace and bracelet. The sale is for the dress, hat and purse, necklace and bracelet only. Born in 1955, “Cissy Walks the Dog” is one of the early Cissy dolls from Madame Alexander. Dressed for a stroll down Park Avenue with her little pooch, she is in her complete and correct outfit, plus a few additions. The veiling on her hat is just awesome, and she is wearing a perfect wool jersey top with no moth damage. It is extremely difficult to find those tops without holes. This one does not have its Cissy tag, but is undeniably original. She will come to you with two skirts, and I’ll explain further down in the description. Her slip and panties are unwashed and still have crispness. Their original rayon-rubber elastic has been replaced by a prior owner, so no sagging waists in either. She has her excellent Cissy hose and the correct hot pink high heels with great elastic. Oh yes, and she has her pale blue tied-on pearls and “diamond” ring. And not to forget the pooch on a black velvet leash. Additions to her outfit are a black velveteen purse with gold chain handle and a vintage fur wrap that color matches with her top very well. The wrap has a clip on the underside for fastening purposes. I don’t know if it’s original or replicated, but it will be included with the doll. THE DOLL: Cissy had never been undressed in all the time I’ve had her, but I needed to do so to check everything out. She has no cracks in her hard plastic and no tears in her vinyl. She has original blush on her hands and knees, and her coloring is uniform. Her facial features all look to be original. She has lovely cheek blush, pretty blue eyes that open and close, good lip color, good brows and all of her brush and painted lashes. Her stringing is good and probably original, and her joints all work. I really don’t see any rubs on the inside of the legs at the top, which is rather remarkable. I don’t think she has been handled much during her lifetime. I have never done anything to alter it. I’m pretty sure this Cissy has the additional wig cap incorporated with her wig. I think the ones from 1955 were the only Cissy dolls that had this. She’s 20 inches tall and has joints at the head, shoulders, elbows, hips and knees. A pretty girl–even in the nude. THE SKIRTS: When this Cissy became part of my collection, I took her out of her original velveteen skirt and used instead a “Walks the Dog” skirt that I already had. This was done simply because I though the magenta waistband and jewel embellishments were prettier on my skirt. She was then put in her spot in the doll cabinet. When I began taking photos for the listing several weeks back, a small disaster occurred when removing the skirt from Cissy. I was trying to undo the snap that was in the placket of the skirt. Even using my fingernails, it was very contrary, and when I finally got it open, I somehow had caused a tear in the velveteen right alongside the seam binding of the placket. But a kind, sympathetic and very skilled seamstress came to my rescue (or Cissy’s) and did a great repair job. So Cissy is still in my preferred skirt, but her original skirt, which has no problems, will come along with her. And it doesn’t have a pesky snap in the placket to deal with. I have pictures of her original skirt if you request them. I have also been advised that the fabric Alexander used in these particular skirts tends to become fragile over time. THE HAT: As mentioned earlier, the hat has wonderful veiling. It also has the little black metal decoration on the back. The hat has its original thin black elastic chin strap which has lost some stretch. It can be put under her hair in the back for some stabilization or not used at all. Once the doll is in place, the hat will stay on her head with no problems. I feel like the little strap is fragile and shouldn’t be stressed. If you’re in the market for a “Cissy Walks the Dog, ” you would have to look a long time to find one this nice. She’s incredible at the age of 65. LOVELY MADAME ALEXANDER 19″ – 20″ VINTAGE CISSY DOLL – 2 TAGGED ITEMS & EXTRAS. Take a good look at the pictures and my written info. This is a Beautiful Cissy Doll with extra clothes for her… I believe she is around 1958 and she is wearing a chimese. She comes with her tagged yellow dress and her yellow homemade slip… She comes with a white long sleeve shirt with a pleated shirt and a belt which are homemade… There is also a blue blouse and a tagged orange/red type long pants and the blouse has a type of stain in back… She has type of blonde type hair, beautiful green/blue color eyes, has her eyelashes, her eyes are wonderful, has knees bend and bend elbows, she has no cracks in legs or arms, only when looking inside hip area there is some on legs at ends… But this has been there for a long time… She has the only white pair of shoes she is wearing and there is no others.. Oh, I forgot to meantion the clothes are for sale, but (my clothes stands are not included — last picture) & not included is the stand that my doll is on.. Everything is in good shape.. Listed here is a complete outfit, including tagged dress, for your vintage Cissy doll. I see some of these pieces come along fairly often, but this outfit is exceptionally nice, and I hope you’ll consider it if you’re looking for this particular one. The sheer green dress is nylon with pink flocked flowers. It is trimmed in green lace around the neckline and puffed sleeves, and it is lined in the bodice in chartreuse taffeta to match the companion slip and lace-trimmed panties. There are four square snaps down the back, all secure. A pink satin ribbon defines the waist and ties in a generous bow in the back. Its original corsage and greenery are in excellent shape. The straw hat is adorned with the same pink silky satin ribbon and has its original floral trim that looks great. The chartreuse taffeta slip and panties have had their elastic replaced with vintage pink rayon and rubber elastic, and it is nice and tight in both pieces. I have added to the mix a pair of vintage pink high heels with excellent elastic and a vintage gold-toned watch with pink elastic band. Never did like the look of the black high heels with this pretty dress. The dress, slip, and panties have not been washed. I started to press the ribbon streamers before taking the pictures, but I don’t think they have ever been pressed, and I wanted the purchaser (if there is one) to have the honor of doing that. The sleeves of the dress have had elastic woven through the stretched original elastic to give the right fit. I don’t see any spots, stains, tears, holes, frays, or other on the dress, slip, or panties. The slip could use a very light press. The lighting for the pictures is not doing the fabric justice. I have shown a close-up in two pictures of the fabric to show you that the little lines are present. They seem to appear and disappear according to the lighting. The Cissy doll that this outfit originally came on is modeling in the pictures, but she and her stand are not included. Here for your consideration is a vintage 1950′s Madame Alexander 20 Cissy Doll in very nice condition. Cissy is hard plastic with vinyl poseable arms. She is strung nicely and can even stand alone in her heels once positioned. She has sleep eyes that open & close on their own with full upper lashes that may be slightly irregular or missing a few partial hairs? Eyelids may be a bit “bumpy”. Beautiful painted lips with a hint of blushed cheeks. She also has blushed’ knees and top of hands. Her blonde shiny hair is in it’s original set with vintage flowers entwined. Wig has “lifted” just a tad bit on both sides of face(needs a bit of glue). I’ve dressed Cissy in a “new” handmade to fit custom tea length skirt with matching blouse(made by a talented Ebayer). Underneath she wears a beautiful custom made to fit full lace slip with matching panties and half slip crinoline. I’ve also added a beautiful “Richard’s Original’s” green straw hat with matching handbag. Also included is a vintage rhinestone ring and replaced pink heels on her feet. Madame Alexander 21 Cissy Bride Doll Stunning! This lovely gal is absolutely stunning! Her auburn hair is in its original hair set with the hair net and jewels. Her face is nearly perfect with high color original face paint, all original lashes and green/blue sleep eyes. She is wearing a gorgeous bridal gown with an attached slip and matching veil. The gown is not tagged and was informed by a fellow beater that her bridal set was beautifully handmade from a McCall’s Fashion doll pattern dated 1956-57. Her bouquet is adorned with dainty silk white and light blue flowers and satin ribbons. She is wearing satin underpants and light blue heals. She also has her original earrings. She comes with her hatbox with accessories inside. There are no holes, rips, or tears on her gown or veil. No major stains but, the gown could use a light cleaning as it shows some little spots from years of storage and display. Her body looks nearly perfect and her knee’s bend well. One hip and one leg near the knee have some minor seam separation. Very common in these dolls. Nothing to indicate that it’s growing or in need of repair. She is display ready and would make a beautiful addition to your doll collection. Great gift for the doll collector in your life. This is an extraordinary Madame Alexander Cissy from the 1950s. She is wearing a bright crisp Tagged & Rare Cissy Dress, crisp pink slip with full elastic and ric rac trim, straw hat with pink velvet florals, matching straw purse, gloves, sunglasses, cabbage rose shoes in handmade box, pink and green shoes she is wearing, nylons, and a matching tagged velvet coat, which includes a repair. Her jewelry consists of earrings, 2 bracelets, 2 rings. Cissy has full lashes, original blush, and a thick preferred dark brown wig. I could not find any flaws with her.
