Her tagged gown is unwashed with bright vivid coloring. Her original lace Bonnet is still a lovely white, with black velvet ribbon and trimmed with lovely pink roses. She wears her original white gloves and has her black and gold madame Alexander hat box, both in excellent condition. Her curls are shiny, tight and still in original set. Her coloring is very nice, her eyes are beautiful, with THICK and long “maggie” eyelashes. However, her eyes don’t seem to close easily when she lays down. It may be an easy fix, however, I will leave it to the next owner to decided what they want to do or not do about that. Her hoop-slip and attached panties are white, and appear to have been washed. Her original netting stockings and black shoes look very nice too. Look at the photos and aks questions. I may have missed something important to you. She is a pretty doll from the desirable glamour girl series. NO odors— from a smoke and pet-free home. She is really a lovely doll. Her full-skirted, tagged gown with Blue embossed flowers and vines is made of crisp polished cotton, and is trimmed with lovely white ball trim. Her dress does have a couple small spots/areas with light yellow aging. Her bonnet is a stiff black taffeta edged in black lace and adorned with a lovely white ostrich feather. She has on her blue gloves and carries her black madame Alexander Hat box. Her Coloring is outstanding; her eyebrows, blushing, soft eyeshadow, bright lips etc. Her Eyes are a vibrant sky blue that matches the blue in her dress nicely. She has long, thick eyelashes, and shiny perfect curls in original set. She wears a white hoopslip with attached lace-edged panties, which is unwashed and still bright, but shows a few little holes near the hem. Her original net stockings are in beautiful condition, and her black velvet shoes are still nice too (with one shoe sole showing a touch more wear than the other). No odors, and comes from a smoke and pet-free home. She isn’t 100% mint, but over all in very beautiful condition, and a great example of a VERY hard to finds blue variation of the Edwardian Glamour Girl. Up for sale is this 18, Near Mint in Box, Vintage, Madame Alexander Picnic Day doll from the Glamour Girl portrait series. She is wearing her flawlessly tagged, stiff, cotton-candy pink, polished cotton gown, with black lace trim, unbelievably full gathered skirt, and green taffeta sash. There is no fading of the black lace trim or coloring in the gown. Her facial coloring is perfect as well— vibrant blushing, eye shadow, lips, eyebrows, etc. Her hair is in it’s original set in nearly flawless shiny curls. Her bold brown eyes, and very thick, long eyelashes open and close as they should. Her hoop-slip and attached panties are perfect and still rather crisp and white, with still tight elastic. Her original net stockings are as perfect as her shoes with flawlessly fuzzy soles. She wears a straw picture hat with flowers and black netting that ties under her chin (also has an elastic that holds the hat in place) It is in great condition with the exception of one place where it was bent in the box for years and has cracked just a little. Her box is in ok condition, as well, but not minty like the doll. NO odors– from a smoke free and pet free home. This is an amazing doll! This perfect oval-eyed straight-leg walker from 1954 is beautiful in a Little Southern Girl outfit. She comes straight from her original owner. I added the outfit, from another doll. The slip is relatively new. The dress is untagged, and the woman I bought it (and the hat) from had no info about it– she had inherited the doll. I used to think that this outfit had been recently reproduced by the Alexander Company, but now I’m not sure about that– I can’t find any recent ones. This dress looks exactly like the ones from 1953, and if the dress has NOT been reproduced by the Alexander Company, then the only conclusion I can draw is that this one is an original, from 1953. A collector has pointed this out to me, and another has noted that the hat even has a small white feather as part of the decoration– and that is consistent with the photo of the outfit in Patricia Smith’s World of Alexander-kins. It’s the first outfit pictured, on page 13. Additionally: This is a gorgeous doll. Ip paint is perfect– not inside or outside the lips as is often the case, or chipped within the lines. Her cheek color is deep and rich, her eyebrows and lower lashes are perfectly painted and unfaded. Her hair is gorgeous. This doll does not appear to have been played with. I won’t be lowering the price on her–she is well worth what I’m asking. And the more I learn about the dress and hat, the more the value increases.
