Vintage 1957 Madame Alexander-Kins #348 Variation “Wendy Loves School Dresses” Straight leg walker. She is wearing a dress with pink flowers, matching panties, a pink pinafore, white socks, fuzzy bottom suede shoes, and a green straw hat with flowers. Hair is set in two braids. She is in overall good condition. She is from a longtime advanced Madame Alexander doll collector’s collection. A must have for your collection! Hair is in great condition. Dress and panties have slight age discoloration, but otherwise in great condition. Dress doesn’t have a tag, but it is definitely Madame Alexander. It also haves yellow mark pictured. Pinafore is beautiful, but does have a small unraveling piece on the corner pictured. Socks and shoes are in great condition. Hat is also in good condition. Hangtag has minor bending, but otherwise great! She has seam splits pictured. No other accessories unless shown or described. See my other auctions for more great historic items! Vintage 1955 Madame Alexander “Wendy In School Dress” #444 SLW Alexander-kins. Madame Alexander SLW 7 ½ Wendy-kins 1955 School Dress All Original. This Alexander-kins straight leg walker doll was probably never played with. Here is an example of our favorite type of Wend-kins outfits. She is so adorable in her 1955 School Dress (tag missing), #444 pictured in Patricia Smiths World of Alexander-kins published 1985, on page 44. Not only at the waist, but also much amplified at the hem. The Kelly green dress with ric rac at the neck & matching panties are of sturdy cotton, with square snaps of course. Her rich auburn triple-stitched wig in a curly flip-style with bangs is shiny & perfect, as are the painted features & color of her face. The eyes appear very dark deep Navy blue until turned sideways in a bright lightthen you can see a pale blue iris. Her green straw hat has a pink ribbon & bow to match the dress. The rayon sox & white velveteen snap-over shoes complete the original ensemble. There are no scratches, stains, splits, nor cracks on the well-strung mint body that is marked “ALEX” on back, which includes a working walker mechanism. Her head turns freely when the legs move. The clothes are all original & excellent, with one minor addition of newer elastic thread hand stitched around the panties original stretched waist band. It can easily be removed if desired, but is actually invisible from outside. She is a lovely example of a well preserved & beloved Wendy doll. Wendy Looks Pretty For School. Very nice Madame Alexander-kins Wendy. Her outfit is Tagged and she is wearing a cotton pink dress with an eyelet pinafore that is removable and ties in the back. She has on a matching pink straw hat with flowers and her original anklets and black side snap fuzzy shoes. She has her very visible brows and eyelashes and pretty blushed cheeks. No nicks or missing coloring, her face is very pretty. She is 8 hard plastic, with bent knees. She has snaps back closure on her dress. Her stand is included so you can display her right away. Wendy has a triple stitch red wig pulled into pigtails. There is a loose gold string in each side. Her blue sleep eyes work well. Her face coloring is very nice. Her walking mechanism is just OK. Her legs are a bit loose and when you hold them towards her leg sockets and move them her head does move. Her dress is tagged Alexander-kins. The tag does have some fraying. The dress is red and white stripped organdy with black velvet sash. The bow of the sash has been retied. She has on white satin lace trimmed panties. Her side snap velvet shoes look like newer with textured bottoms. Her red woven hat has lillies of the valley trim. Some of the flowers are missing on the back of the hat. It has damage and no lid. This gorgeous Madame Alexander 8 doll is Wendy wearing a School Outfit. She is a hard-plastic straight leg non-walker doll from 1953, the first year these little dolls were made. Her dress is the brightest pink and has matching panties. Her black shoes are top-stitched and have fuzzy bottoms. What a beautiful, beautiful doll!
