This doll has some items all original, and some have been added by me. First off, the doll itself is clean and has no odors, stains, chews or splits. She had a small 1/4 split at the back of her head, and this has been filled and bonded. She also had a low neck (head opening was a bit to big for her neck and sat down to far). She had the head opening filled in with clear bonding and her head now sits up appropriately. She has her original clear blue eyes and full original lashes. There are some rubs on both of her eye lids. Of course, not seen unless she is laid down. She has had her wig cleaned and restyled back into her original low bun in the back. New spanner bar and side ties. It is full and has no cut or missing hair. She is a transitional doll, and is strung. She has had new stringing. She has earring holes. Her outfit has a new dress. It is a pretty pink taffeta , newer, not vintage and I was able to find the exact trim for around the hem. It is lovely crisp taffeta and made exactly to the original design. Her original dress is dirty, dingy, major faded around the bottom, and has stains. It is tagged and I have shown the tag of that dress. I will include the dress if you desire it, please let me know when you pay. Her purple velvet jacket has been cleaned and it came out quite well. No holes, rips or major stains. Her hat is original and has new tulle and flowers added. She also has new flowers added to her corsage at the waist. She has her original ring and her gorgeous earrings. She also has her original, large crinoline slip. The slip has had some repairs to it and new elastic added at the waist. She wears a vintage pair of satin panties (not Cissy panties), vintage nylons, and a new pair of lavender elastic shoes. The stand is not included. Because there are so many people doing repairs on these lovely dolls and I have been asked many questions, I would like to clarify a bit of the work I do. I have had training in repairs and have been doing them for many years. My spa treatments are done with solvent based paints that are air brushed on, the same that are used on plastic bumpers on cars. The paint is UV protected and is permanent and will not rub off. The paint is also sealed with a UV protectant sealer. It also is permanent and will not yellow or wash off. I remove the eyes through the neck opening and replace them back the same way once eyelash and eye repair is finished. I do NOT split the head open, nor would I recommend it. I try to always think of the long term effects of my repairs and fixes. As for the clothing I make, I try to make them as close to an original design as possible. I also try to use vintage 50′s fabrics as often as I can. If I do not, I will always state so. I do not photoshop or alter my pictures in any way. Pictures are part of the description. This is a lovely 1960 Madame Alexander Godey Elise doll. She wears her original tagged one-piece dress of apricot velvet and pleated taffeta that shows a little shelf dust and overall age but is still quite nice looking, original slip, panties, and shoes. Original hat has beautifully replaced vintage flowers. Watch fob pinned at the waist. Freshly blushed cheeks, no seam splits. A lovely beautiful example of a hard-to-find doll. Vintage 1957 Madame Alexander Elise doll. Vinyl over sleeve arms, jointed at elbow. Original stitched part wig. Beautiful vintage Godey Lady gown & hat. Stockings, original shoes, petticoat & panties. Presented here is a gorgeous vintage 1957 Madame Alexander Elise doll. She is 16 tall, made of hard plastic with vinyl over sleeve arms, that are jointed at the elbow. Beautiful bright blue eyes with thick lashes, painted under lashes, lovely coloring, red mouth, single stroke brows. Her wig is original in great condition, stitched part, much of the original curl remains. The gown is fabulous, it is not tagged, I don’t know what she came in but the gown is the sames vintage. Made of turquoise-aqua cotton velveteen with a taffeta bodice and over skirt. The velvet is full with a bustle and train in the back. It is trimmed with silver metallic braid. The matching hat is adorable with vintage flowers and veil. Underneath she wears a cotton petticoat with lace and pink silk bow, matching cotton panties, original stockings and pink high heel shoes. The doll is marked on the back of the body and head. She is in excellent vintage condition, no notable damage. The clothing is also excellent, clean, sturdy, no stains, no tears; the elastic in the cuffs, panties and shoes has lost some of the stretch with time only. Comes with the stand. Vintage 1960 Madame Alexander Godey Girl Doll #2181 Original Box Excellent Condition- Tagged. Doll is wearing an apricot taffeta dress or skirt and matching velvet jacket that hooks in the front. Her blouse has faux diamond buttons down the front. I can see that the skirt snaps in the back. The tag is shown in the photo and looks untouched. This doll is from the daughter of the original owner and is in EXCELLENT condition. I’ve not undressed her. She’s been kept in a plastic bag in her original box. She’s not dusty or dirty. I will list the few defects as I see them but encourage questions and I’m happy to send additional photos. Looking at her face I see nothing wrong. She has gorgeous blue eyes and white pigment around the iris. All of her lashes are there. She is wearing lovely faux diamond drop earrings that are original. Her hat is pinned to her head but I’ve lifted it up and her hair is in the original setting. There are a few fly aways but nothing major. The hat is gorgeous, however, I see that the netting is a little frayed. I don’t think frayed is the term but it’s not perfect and I’ve not untied it. All the flowers look beautiful and not dingy at all. I dropped two droplets of water on her skirt and you might be able to see the faint outline in the photo. It’s near her right hand. I found one tiny pin size white spot on the side of the doll but it’s not anything. She’s been in the box but isn’t messy. Her clothing is crisp and I can tell they’ve never been washed. Her underclothing is in the same condition. She has a big crinoline and slip. She has her panties, stockings, and black shoes. I see a pick or two in her hose but no holes and the shoes shoes look fine. The elastic might be the slightest bit stretched but not by much. Her hang tag was on the back of her dressed so I moved it to the front. I see no dirt or damage on her body as far as I can tell. Her ring is missing the stone. She comes with her original box that has some damage but is still in decent condition. I can send photos of the box if asked. Her Light cream taffeta Hoop-slip and attached, lace trimmed panties still have tight elastic are still stiff and beautiful. She wears her original netting stockings and black flawlessly fuzzy soled shoes, both in beautiful condition. Her hair is in original set of curls that circle her head like a wreath. She has very long and thick black eyelashes, pouty Maggie lips and soft blushing, and beautiful eyebrows. She has an original wrist tag and black Madame Alexander hat box. Beautiful doll from in an estate. She is the 21 Godey doll from 1938. These earlier portrait dolls are very hard to find! I have never seen another one of these in 40 years of doll collecting. Her amber eyes and fancy costume are really spectacular. She has a beautiful caramel-colored mohair wig. Her composition has some crazing and cracks as shown. Her dress and hat are faded some. There is a brown spot on one of her hat ribbons. I have not undressed her to check the quality of the composition under the dress. Her body seems to be in good condition under her clothing.
