Madame Alexander Dolls

Beautiful 1957 Cissy doll wearing the Bon Voyage outfit blouse, skirt and pin watch. She’s 20 tall with red-blond hair and pretty sleep eyes. Cissy’s rubbery feeling arms have detached and they’re dirty but seem fine otherwise. Her head is wobbly on neck — not sure if this is normal. Her lovely face has a few small, light marks as shown — I only used a damp cloth on her, so they might be easy to clean up if you know how. Legs look a little dirty. I see no cracks along her joints or other damage except what I’ve already mentioned. Her hair seems nice and thick but is a little messy and I can see what looks like a seam just behind her bangs. Clothes need cleaning and her blouse is missing the flower at top. The pin watch looks like it’s in great shape with just minor expected wear. She’s wearing white underwear that are not tagged, and has no shoes or other clothes or accessories. I don’t know much about dolls, just what I can find online, so please let me know if you have any questions. Margaret faced “Margot Ballerina” by Madame Alexander. Believe this dates to 1954. #1850 of the 1954 Madame Alexander catalog. Her hair is waved away from her face and secured at the back in her original hair net. Spanner bar on top of head. Dark blonde hair is accented with pink and white flowers. Pink Satin and tulle costume is accented with sparkly rhinestones on the bodice. Pink satin slippers with satin ties. Head turns from side to side when arms are moved. Eyes close when laid down. They do open and close fine. Faint stray mark on upper right arm and one on her left shoulder. Super faint stray marks on upper chest and on upper back. Stunning Mint Madame Alexander Jacqueline Kennedy #2140 – 20 Inches – NO RESERVE. Circa 1962, Madame Alexander lady doll with hard plastic torso and jointed legs, vinyl socket head and vinyl one piece arms, side parted brunette wig with shoulder length flip and single front curl, brown sleep eyes, molded eyelashes, blue eye shadow with painted side eyelashes, rosy lips and pink blushed cheeks, pearl necklace and purse, diamond earrings, diamond ring on left hand, wearing her original tagged ivory full length brocade gown, with red satin full length coat, original slip, panties, stockings and black high heeled shoes. Size: 20 inches tall. Condition: Excellent overall condition and appears to be unplayed with. The dress and coat are crisp and there are no stains or odors. Beautiful doll from 1953. She has her original shoes, stockings, slip with attached undies, original gown with purple velvet banner and pearl necklace and matching bracelet. The guide books I have looked at have the necklace and bracelet as original pieces. She is missing her original crown, so I have substituted an authentic contemporary Cissy crown. She has replaced gloves. I’ve also made her a rhinestone bracelet in exactly the same design as she would have been wearing out of old store stock rhinestones, silver braid and snaps.. The earrings she came with were replaced, so I found vintage store stock and remade earrings similar to what she would have had. There are two very small tears in her ballgown as shown. Her dress and slip have been gently cleaned with Perk and have been pressed. The hoopskirt is out of round, and this can be fixed, but I didn’t want to mess with it. Her dress has the original tag. Princess Margaret Rose is harder to find than Queen Elizabeth, and this doll has cleaned up and presents very nicely. From our family’s lifelong collection of lovely dolls, we have for your consideration a beautiful 1955 Cissy doll by Madame Alexander. Standing 20 inches in height this doll has a hard plastic body with vinyl arms. The pliable vinyl arms have a very firm “base” from the shoulder to the wrist. The hands are hollow. Cissy is jointed at the neck, shoulders, elbows, hips, and knees. Her medium blonde vinyl hair is in the original set, and her pretty blue sleep eyes work perfectly. All brush lashes are intact. She has a beautiful clear facial complexion and lovely facial coloring. Her hands and knees have the same rosy glow as her cheeks, and her hands and fingers are quite detailed. On the nape of her neck… The clothes on this Cissy doll have never been removed. She is wearing a navy blue taffeta dropped-waist dress with matching bolero jacket. The dress has a sweetheart neckline and short puff sleeves of navy blue tulle. The jacket has three-quarter length sleeves. A black boucle trim accents the jacket edge and the neckline and waist of the dress. A white grosgrain ribbon bow snaps to close the neckline of the jacket. The dress closes in the back with five small snaps. Under her dress Cissy is wearing a white taffeta half slip with elastic waist. Two rows of crinoline are sewn to the bottom of the slip… One to the top side and one to the under side. The crinoline is trimmed with white ric rac. Cissy is wearing nude-colored seamed stockings and white taffeta panties trimmed with a narrow white lace. In the photos you will see what appears to be a faint small brown mark on the back of her left leg. This is just a thread inside her stocking. A price tag is stapled to the crinoline. D91 U5 508 2081 16.95. The tag on the dress reads… “Cissy” by MADAME ALEXANDER. Cissy’s wrist tag is attached to her left wrist with a white string. On the inside of the wrist tag our sweet “collector” wrote the date 12-25-55 in blue fountain pen ink. Completing Cissy’s ensemble… Black strappy high heels, and a lovely wide-brimmed straw hat trimmed in blue with blue netting and white flowers and red berries. Doll stand is not included.
