Rare Vintage Jane Withers 13 Composition Doll By Madame Alexander. This little 13 composition doll was made by Madame Alexander in 1937. She features a brown mohair wig, sleepy eyes with light shadow, painted lower lashes, single stroke brows and a closed mouth. She has a full set of lashes. Her eyes open and close as they should. Her stringing is excellent and she can stand independently and hold a pose. Her composition is in excellent condition with no visible cracking, chipping or crazing to her body. There is early light crazing to her face upon very close inspection. There is also a small crack on the edge of her right eye. She is wearing a white cotton dress with a light blue floral pinafore. Clothing is not tagged and the origin of the clothing is unknown. There are some stains on the sleeves that would probably wash out with careful laundering. The dress is accented with a “Richard Original” hat and purse. The pretty hat is adorned with cherries that compliments the cherry pattern in the dress fabric. What a sweet summer outfit for Cissy. To complete the ensemble the doll will arrive wearing vintage white Cissy heels accented with red rhinestones, vintage Madame Alexander taffeta Cissy panties in excellent condition no holes, replaced stockings no holes, also her red bead necklace and earrings, and a faux ruby gold tone ring. The doll herself is also in excellent condition. She is well strung and holds a pose. Her beautiful blue eyes have all of their original thick lashes. Her face is lovely with original blush and rosy lips. The only flaw the doll has is a small hip split high up on the inside of her right leg. The picture makes it look much larger than it is, and it doesn’t show when the doll is posed normally, as shown in the last photo. Thank you for looking at this beautiful doll.
