THIS SET IS VERY RARE AND HTF AS A MINT SET. 1963 LISSY CLASSIC GROUP. THE DEMAND FOR COSTUME DOLLS INSPIRED MADAME ALEXANDER TO CREATE THIS LITTLLE GROUP TO AUGMENT THE PORTRAIT DOLLS AND LITTLE WOMEN. THESE DOLLS, USING THE LISSY BODDY AND FACE AND HAVING NON JOINTED ARMS AND LEGS ARE 3 OF THE MOST DESIRABLE DOLLS MADE BY ALEXANDER DOLL CO. DOLLS AS SHOWN IN “MADAME ALEXANDER DOLLS ON REVIEW”, BY UHL, PAGE 79 (SEE PICTURE). I HAVE HAD THESE DOLLS FOR MANY YEARS. THEY HAVE BEEN DISPLAYED BEHIND GLASS, IN A SUN FREE, SMOKE FREE, PET FREE ENVIRONMENT. THEY ARE IN MINT CONDITION, ORIGINAL, CRISP, CLEAN CLOTHING FROM HEAD TO TOE. I BOUGHT THESE DOLLS INDIVIDUALLY OVER A PERIOD OF TIME, SO THAT IS WHY I HAVE 2 BOXES, AND 2 TAGS FOR SOUTHERN BELLE AND SCARLETT. I WAS NEVER ABLE TO FIND MCGUFFEYS. SOUTHERN BELLE #1255 WITH CHARM AND BEAUTY OF THE SOUTH BEFORE THE CIVIL WAR. I HAVE HER CORRECT LABLED BOX IN GOOD CONDITION, AND A LITTLE TAG THAT SAYS “SOUTHERN BELLE”, BUT MAY BE FOR NEWER VERSION. HER DRESS IS TAGGED. SCARLETT OHARA #1256 RIGHT FROM” GONE WITH THE WIND”. A DETERMINED SCARLETT MADE HER DRESS FROM PARLOR DRAPES. INTERESTING, SCARLETT HAS BLUE EYES WHICH ARE CORRECT FOR THIS DOLL. I DO NOT SEE A TAG ON CLOTHING, HOWEVER, BECAUSE OF THE DIFFICULTY OF UNDRESSING HER IN THE OUTFIT, IT MAY BE HIDDEN ON BLOUSE OR UNDERNEATH. EVERY DETAIL OF OUTFIT IS WONDERFUL FROM THE LITTLE WHITE BLOUSE TO THE HAT WITH GREEN FEATHER AND FLOWERS. I HAVE THE CORRECT LABLED BOX AND HER WRIST TAG IN VERY GOOD CONDITION. This pretty Madame Alexander LISSY is from 1957. She is wearing the outfit #1161 It includes the beautiful full pink dress, slip, bloomers, an incredible hat and beautiful pink shoes. It is all in very good condition with no stains, holes, or other damage. The dress is a beautiful pink color without any fade or darkening to the fabric. The arms are nice and tight and the pink ribbon tie is beautiful. Her slip and bloomers have great stretch with no issues to report. Her stockings look to be free of holes or runs and her pink shoes are nice and tight. The beautiful hat is just perfect with nice full tulle with no holes and beautiful crisp flowers on top. She comes wearing the correct jewelry of pearl earrings and a diamond bracelet. Is just stunning and completes this outfit perfectly. The Lissy doll is in very good condition with a beautiful brunette wig in original set tied in the back with a gold cord. She has beautiful pupiless eyes and original blush on the cheeks. There are no cracks or stains on the doll body. All together this is a lovely version of this dress that will not dissappoint! A very pretty Lissy! There were a total of 6 Portrait dolls that were made in 1966 only and this one is Lissy. She is in excellent condition and all original from head to toe. She still has her original crown which is often missing. Her hair is in its original set. Her gown is tagged and crisp. She has beautiful facial coloring. Her original wrist tag has some brown spots on it. I also accept other forms of payments. On the custom form, I will only list this item as “Merchandise” and I will declare its full value.
