Madame Alexander Dolls

G’day from Down Under I’ve been collecting Madame Alexander dolls, and in particular Alexanderkins, for quite a lot of years now. Started with Cissy, Lissy and Maggie, and then moved on to the smaller dolls when space became an issue. Having recently downsized our living arrangements yet again (which means even less room for displaying my dolls) I have struggled with the idea of letting some of them go (I have around 100, many of them pretty close to mint condition) but now I realise it’s time to do this. This one is a 1953 straight leg non walker, brunette triple stitched wig is lovely set, and wearing an outfit that includes pink floral jumper dress with white ric rac, and a one piece romper in pink, also with white ric rac. The bonnet matches the romper fabric, and as you can see, the outfit still has it’s Alexanderkin tag attached. Flutter eyes are blue and move freely. Shoes are top-stitched black with fuzzy soles, as it typical of the kins of this early era. Socks are the typical rayon in white, and the whole outfit comes together beautifully in my opinion. She has a little blush left on her cheeks, her brows are still there, and her under-eye lashes are very dark. She stands on her own without any difficulty; she is well strung and holds a pose well as the first pic shows. This Cissy has been one of my favorites over the years; she has hair that is a lighter blonde and is in its original style, except for the back, which I flipped up. With beautiful blue-green eyes, she has lovely original face coloring, a sturdy posable body which is uniform in color and free of any splits, cracks, tares in the upper arm vinyl, odors, spots or other types of blemishes. She has been in an animal free and smoke free home for years. Please study the pictures to see that her left eyelash needs a little attention if new owner wishes. Also, look at picture #7 at her right knee. When bent, it has a little bit of space at the joint, but is not loose. Please ask me questions; I will gladly answer. The hat is in great shape with no issues to the lace. It is still a beautiful white color and has no stains or holes. The pink ties are in good condition but are a little shorter than they once were. However they still tie nicely into a bow. This hat is the perfect thing to complete any of your early Alexander Kins outfits. Here for your consideration is a 14 Margaret face doll produced by the Madame Alexander doll company in the late 1940′s or early 1950′s. Margaret, dressed as a bridesmaid, is wearing a vintage, factory made gown. It is taffeta, in a pretty shade of peach, and is decorated with gold sequins on the bodice, shoulders, and on a ruffle at the hips. The gown is in very good condition. There are no stains or holes. There was one seam opening in the back which I repaired. It closes with three secure snaps in the back. Margaret is also wearing gold shoes (some of the gold foil has worn off here and there). And vintage taffeta panties. The doll is in excellent condition. Her face paint is lovely and vibrant. Her brows and under lashes are well defined and her brush lashes are full. Her sleep eyes open and close as they should. She has full red lips and softly blushed cheeks. No issues to note with her body. There are no odors. She is tightly strung and will hold a pose. She has a blonde mohair wig fashioned into soft elegant curls, and accented with a pink rose. She carries a bouquet of silk roses. Margaret is beautiful and ready for display.
