This Margaret Rose Madame Alexander Doll is completely dressed and in great condition. The dress has been faded and has a few small stains.. She has flowers in her wonderful blond hair. The hard plastic has been well kept out of harsh weather in a sealed plastic bin. Complexion clean and unblemished. Official Madame Alexander Tags still in tact and attached. Beautiful doll from 1953. She has her original shoes, stockings, slip with attached undies, original gown with purple velvet banner and pearl necklace and matching bracelet. The guide books I have looked at have the necklace and bracelet as original pieces. She is missing her original crown, so I have substituted an authentic contemporary Cissy crown. She has replaced gloves. I’ve also made her a rhinestone bracelet in exactly the same design as she would have been wearing out of old store stock rhinestones, silver braid and snaps.. The earrings she came with were replaced, so I found vintage store stock and remade earrings similar to what she would have had. There are two very small tears in her ballgown as shown. Her dress and slip have been gently cleaned with Perk and have been pressed. The hoopskirt is out of round, and this can be fixed, but I didn’t want to mess with it. Her dress has the original tag. Princess Margaret Rose is harder to find than Queen Elizabeth, and this doll has cleaned up and presents very nicely. Alexander made her in composition in 1946-7. It appears that the clothing is faded but original. It is clear that she was played with, and while I didn’t take off her clothes, they appear to be faded but otherwise in good condition. She has a marking across her back that reads. The paper tag attached to her clothing reads. 1946 – Sears catalog – displayed OBrien Doll on one side and Directory of U. Trademarks – by – Luella Hart – Pg 29 – Margaret OBrien. Here for your consideration is a 14 Margaret face doll produced by the Madame Alexander doll company in the late 1940′s or early 1950′s. Margaret, dressed as a bridesmaid, is wearing a vintage, factory made gown. It is taffeta, in a pretty shade of peach, and is decorated with gold sequins on the bodice, shoulders, and on a ruffle at the hips. The gown is in very good condition. There are no stains or holes. There was one seam opening in the back which I repaired. It closes with three secure snaps in the back. Margaret is also wearing gold shoes (some of the gold foil has worn off here and there). And vintage taffeta panties. The doll is in excellent condition. Her face paint is lovely and vibrant. Her brows and under lashes are well defined and her brush lashes are full. Her sleep eyes open and close as they should. She has full red lips and softly blushed cheeks. No issues to note with her body. There are no odors. She is tightly strung and will hold a pose. She has a blonde mohair wig fashioned into soft elegant curls, and accented with a pink rose. She carries a bouquet of silk roses. Margaret is beautiful and ready for display. 1949 Madame Alexander 20 In Fairy Queen. Doll: 20 in Margaret face doll. Doll is solid with no cracks at mold seams. Arms hold a pose. Beautiful face with working blue/green sleep eyes. Perfect strawberry blonde wig. Clothing: Pink tulle dress trimmed in gold and pink rose flowers, (few tears in tulle on chest), gold wings, gold star wand, fairy queen wrist tag, pink undies, cream tights, and gold foil tie shoes(foil is just starting to come apart).
