THIS SET IS VERY RARE AND HTF AS A MINT SET. 1963 LISSY CLASSIC GROUP. THE DEMAND FOR COSTUME DOLLS INSPIRED MADAME ALEXANDER TO CREATE THIS LITTLLE GROUP TO AUGMENT THE PORTRAIT DOLLS AND LITTLE WOMEN. THESE DOLLS, USING THE LISSY BODDY AND FACE AND HAVING NON JOINTED ARMS AND LEGS ARE 3 OF THE MOST DESIRABLE DOLLS MADE BY ALEXANDER DOLL CO. DOLLS AS SHOWN IN “MADAME ALEXANDER DOLLS ON REVIEW”, BY UHL, PAGE 79 (SEE PICTURE). I HAVE HAD THESE DOLLS FOR MANY YEARS. THEY HAVE BEEN DISPLAYED BEHIND GLASS, IN A SUN FREE, SMOKE FREE, PET FREE ENVIRONMENT. THEY ARE IN MINT CONDITION, ORIGINAL, CRISP, CLEAN CLOTHING FROM HEAD TO TOE. I BOUGHT THESE DOLLS INDIVIDUALLY OVER A PERIOD OF TIME, SO THAT IS WHY I HAVE 2 BOXES, AND 2 TAGS FOR SOUTHERN BELLE AND SCARLETT. I WAS NEVER ABLE TO FIND MCGUFFEYS. SOUTHERN BELLE #1255 WITH CHARM AND BEAUTY OF THE SOUTH BEFORE THE CIVIL WAR. I HAVE HER CORRECT LABLED BOX IN GOOD CONDITION, AND A LITTLE TAG THAT SAYS “SOUTHERN BELLE”, BUT MAY BE FOR NEWER VERSION. HER DRESS IS TAGGED. SCARLETT OHARA #1256 RIGHT FROM” GONE WITH THE WIND”. A DETERMINED SCARLETT MADE HER DRESS FROM PARLOR DRAPES. INTERESTING, SCARLETT HAS BLUE EYES WHICH ARE CORRECT FOR THIS DOLL. I DO NOT SEE A TAG ON CLOTHING, HOWEVER, BECAUSE OF THE DIFFICULTY OF UNDRESSING HER IN THE OUTFIT, IT MAY BE HIDDEN ON BLOUSE OR UNDERNEATH. EVERY DETAIL OF OUTFIT IS WONDERFUL FROM THE LITTLE WHITE BLOUSE TO THE HAT WITH GREEN FEATHER AND FLOWERS. I HAVE THE CORRECT LABLED BOX AND HER WRIST TAG IN VERY GOOD CONDITION. She is from the late 1950′s and is in mint condition. She has shiny brunette hair in perfect condition, beautiful face paint with very high color cheeks. Her body is quite perfect and her joints and knees work very well. She has the slightest bit of pink blushing on her bum from her red panties but it’s very, very slight and I thought is was factory blushing at first glance. Her dress is perfect and tagged and she doesn’t have her hoop petticoat on at the moment and it needs a bit of steam but it’s in perfect shape. Her hose are great, one small hole in the toe and her black shoe elastic is still quite good. She has no odors and has been packed away in a heated closet in a no smoking environment. This is a tagged yellow wreath dress fo polished cotton with a pattern of white flowers and floral wreaths with a square neckline, puffed sleeves and yellow satin sash that ties into a large bow at back.. In the book, ” The Cissy Files”. By Kiley Shaw, this dress is listed as Hard to Find and from 1957, however this gown came with the FAO Schwarz Royal Tour Trousseau Trunk Set from 1960 which was a One Owner Set. This dress is also pictured in this month’s UFDC Doll News magazine. It is in Pristine Mint Condition, Vivid Color, Clean, Crisp with a crisp tag, even retains the original sizing. It does have one small age spot near the end of the satin tie which is pictured for you.. I doubt it was ever played with. All of the extra clothes with this set are in Mint Pristine Condition. Absolutely beautiful 14 inch tagged Polly Pigtails roller skater in original store box(not marked but she came that way) She is mint and unplayed with. Her outfit is tagged Polly Pigtails. Her box is not mint as the corners need repair, but it is unusual and original to doll. One of her roller skates bottom came off and glue will fix it but I did not want to touch it.
