This Vintage Margaret OBrien Composition Doll, standing at 18 inches tall, is a lovely collectible piece that comes with a stand. The brown-haired girl doll, with straight hair and blue eyes that open and close, was manufactured in 1940′s by Madame Alexander. This original celebrity doll is made of composition material and features articulated limbs, removable clothes, and a light complexion. Very faint crazing noticed. Alexander imprinted on back of neck. Lovely pink and white outfit and pink bows and rayon socks with white shoes. Perfect for all occasions, this timeless treasure is a must-have for collectors of vintage dolls from the 1940s.

Wonderful doll in a excellent condition tagged dress, all original. All jointed composition, her face has the best condition composition with a few very light lines that one needs to get very close to see. Clear blue acrylic sleep eyes with all their lashes. Original auburn mohair wig still factory styled in long braids. As pictured, the arms and legs have crazing and some cracking. Torso composition is very good, just doll stand smudges at the waist, marked “Alexander” on back. Tagged dress is in excellent condition, attached slip and underpants with the same trim as the slip. Excellent condition original straw hat that still has the chin strap. Original rayon socks and black oilcloth tie shoes.

This doll has obviously been so well loved. She has been hanging out by my perfume bottles for too long, and needs a new home where someone else will cherish her. Unfortunately, she is missing part of her left foot as seen in photos. However, the heel remains, and sock and shoe would hide it. When I bought her she was missing her foot, sock and shoe. All of her clothes and hat are original. The string on her hat is broken. The clothing has staining and holes. Her wig is super fragile and the hairs will come out easily and break. So I have been careful not to mess with her hair. The rubber bands holding her body together are very loose. You can see this in the pics without her clothes. Please look closely at pictures. I have tried my best to show all of her flaws. Thanks so much for stopping by to take a look.

This is a beautiful doll , I don’t know a lot about the madame alexander dolls but, I was told this is Margaret O’Brien she stands 18 tall and is composition, I see some crazing but nothing to bad. Vintage 1940s Margaret OBrien 18 HP Doll By Madame Alexander, Orig. This hard plastic doll is in excellent condition. She has soft brown hair in bundled braids with bangs. She has green glass sleepy eyes, painted lower lashes, single stroke brows, rosy cheeks and a closed rosebud mouth. She has a full set of real lashes and her eyes open and close as they should. She is dressed in her original untagged dress. It is a blue cotton short sleeved dress with a sheer white organza pinafore. Underneath she is wearing a netted tutu type petticoat, white eyelet trimmed panties, white socks and black shoes. Origin of the hat and shoes is uncertain if original. She is marked ALEXANDER on her head. She has all of her fingers on both hands. She has no visible marks, cracks or blemishes. Her finish is super. She can stand and balance independently. I don’t know much about dolls, but this was my mother’s and she was born in 1943. She obviously wasn’t allowed to play with her much because she is in really good shape. I believe all of her clothing is original, though I do not know that for sure. She has a petticoat and pantaloons under her dress. Her clothes could use a good ironing, but I didn’t want to attempt it. I would really love for her to have a better life than that! Her joints work well. She has some uniform light crazing on her face and legs, but I don’t think that detracts from her at all. There is also some pink staining on her socks and some wear on the bottom of her shoes (see pics). Overall a really nice looking doll that I would probably pass down to my one of my children had I not had two boys. They think she is creepy!
