Margaret was a child actress popular in the 1940s. It was said that she could cry on demand. She’s got a sweet little face… A more matted paint than some. I place this doll from 1946-47. She displays well, but has some imperfections. Tiny missing loss of lip paint, easily touched up; faint white mark or loss of blush on cheeks; chipped right index finger; some crazing and color mottling to arms and legs; faint soil marks here and there to the dress (but it’s crisp and un-laundered); holes throughout the lace on bottom edge of dress (they are uniformly positioned, but I don’t think they’re supposed to be there). I can fix some of these issues if you want. Just let me know. I matched the shoe laces since I took the photo here. Ask me any questions you’d like. I have displayed her away from direct sunlight and she comes from a smoke-free home. This poor girl has had so many non payers… She’s starting to get an insecurity complex! Here is a very pretty vintage 20 Madame. She has a mohair. All hair is present. She may be missing. An eyelash or two on her left eye but its hard. To tell for sure. Her eyes will open and close. Her composition is pretty. Clean but it is very faded. Back are closer to her original color. Her stringing is very good. She has light crazing all over. There are no cracks around her head. Tiny crack left shoulder, one on left breast. One in crotch, one on her butt, and. Inside both of her thighs all the way at the top. The very tip of her right big toe is chipped. Believe that her dress is original but the. Rest of her clothes are not. It doesnt match the dress so I dont know. Pinafore has a few tiny holes in front. When restoring these 75 year old + dolls, great care is taken in having them look like they did when they were mint & new. Color is vibrant, Finish is satiny, features are complete and great effort has been taken to replicate the originality from the factory. MARGARET O’BRIEN Madame Alexander doll Child actress contemporary of Judy Garland and Others. She has Clear sleep eyes, Her Mohair wig is in loop braids and is in great shape. Her Pink jumper with ric rac is original. The lace blouse and panty combo are vintage replacement. The Coat set was obviously made for her and is of her day. This set has the muff, hat & bag with forget-me-nots adorned on the pieces. All pieces are Vintage and while having a old look are in pretty nice shape. Good vintage shoes and socks. These girls have the prettiest faces. More beauties listed, so please take a look. Please look at all the pictures. There are good & clear close-ups. The item has been photographed well. Sometimes these 50-80 year old dolls just dont survive the test of time very well. Finding a skilled restorationist is as hard to find as the rare doll itself. This is a ART. A labor of love & mostly a lot of sanding. With these collectible pieces, I have done my best to keep the doll looking as original as possible when the doll was factory made (not what a 80 year old faded doll looks like). With that being said, These are still Vintage & Antique dolls. Composition especially has a lot of factory nuances that other materials do not have. Their imperfections are part of the charm of composition. This doll has been repaired if needed, and eyes will be clear and a appropriate color. There will be no missing fingers or toes. I use paints which are very similar to the ones used by the factory. The overhaul process includes stripping, filling, sanding, priming, airbrush painting, hand painted features & sealing. I pay special attention to the faces and they are completely smooth. I line the head socket with suede. I have been a skilled Artist all my life.
