Vintage Madame Alexander Kins 1953 With Lovely Tagged Outfit! . Lovely 1953 SLNW heavy body doll! Arms are a little loose and one arm looks like it may have been replaced, it is paler in color. A beautiful infused Cissy doll in her original black A-line velvet gown from 1957. Her gown is in lovely condition with no stains, rips, holes or odors. The gown is lined in pellon. No damage to the sequin trim at the neckline. All snaps are present. Original nylon crinoline slip with new elastic waistband. Light pink original Cissy panties, vintage nylons and new silver shoes. She is also wearing her original black gauntlet gloves. They have a few holes in them, have a little fading, but they show very well. She is wearing a vintage diamond bracelet, new pearl earrings and necklace, and a new faux fur stole that is lined with a soft pink satin and has a rose corsage attached. Cissy herself is gorgeous. She is an infused Cissy doll. She had her wig removed for cleaning and it is newly reglued. All original curl was retained and the hair falls into lovely soft curls at the neck. Her wig is auburn, but it has changed colors a bit and has a very pretty coppery shine to it. It is beautiful and very attractive. Cissy has her original bright blue eyes with just a few flecks of amber. Her face has been newly airbrushed with blush and she has a UV protectant sealer applied. Cissy has no cracks or splits, nor repairs to such. She is newly strung to her head and arms. Her arms have no rips or tears in the vinyl. She has no odors, and she has been cleaned inside and out. She is marked Alexander on the back of her head. Stand is not included. I do not photoshop or alter my pictures in any way. No smoke and mirrors, what you see is exactly what she is. This is a Madame Alexander doll that measures 18″ tall and is tagged “Fairy Queen. She is in her original outfit. This dolls has a gorgeous face with no issues. She does have crazing on both arms and the left leg (see pics). There also is some paint wear around her neck where her head rubs on the neck. Her dress has tanned from age and it is tattered (holes in the netting). She is still fabulous! Her hair looks wonderful and her eyes open and shut with no issues. Below is what I researched and found out about this doll. 14 or 18 tall, all composition jointed body, brown sleep eyes, closed mouth, blonde wig, used the. Face mold and markings, dressed in elaborate tulle gown, have found it in pink, turquoise & white, with gold braid trim on bodice, gold crown, wings on back & scepter. If it gets lost, damaged or stolen then I will do all I can to get the claim filed, etc…. Welcome to my auctions! She is 20 tall with hard plastic body and soft vinyl jointed arms and knees for posing. She is dressed in a white dimity cotton dress with a floral print of lavender flower bouquets and white net sleeves and val lace trim. The dress has a lavender velvet ribbon around her waist and ties into a bow in the front. Four square snaps close the dress in back. The bodice is sprinkled with a few rhinestones for sparkle. Under the dress is white taffeta nylon half slip with white undies. Her nylons are new and nice and tight. Her shoes are also new and are lavender with tiny flowers. She has a beautiful face with one stroke brows, full lashes, clear eyes, light blush and pink mouth. Her face has a very soft look to it. Her hair is a strawberry blond color in nice curls. Tiny little curls for bangs. Her face may have had some spa work at one time, but nothing major. She wears a hat with lavender netting, ribbons, and flowers. Last she carries a lavender straw handbag with various purple and lavender flowers. The dress is a copy of one of Cissy’s day dresses and shoes and nylons were made other talented people. This Madame Alexander Cissy doll has such a sweet face, but she does have some imperfections. The outfit she is wearing, however, makes up for some of her flaws. We’ll take the outfit first. The darling dress, created by an expert seamstress, is made of the same 1950s fabric that M. Alexander used for the pink and blue dresses for 14-inch and 17-inch Maggies except that the pattern is a silvery-grey. There is a picture included of my Maggie dress next to Cissy’s dress. This fabric had survived for all these years without being used. It is crisp, the pattern is still raised due to not having been washed, and the sheen is just beautiful. The dress features a sweetheart neckline with Val lace trim, tiny pearls to mimic buttons down the front, banded puff sleeves and full skirt. A rich red grosgrain ribbon is looped through two tiny MOP buckles on each side of the waist and ties into a pretty bow in the back. Four small square snaps for closure. Under the dress, Cissy wears a vintage factory slip of white taffeta with netting ruffle trimmed with red rickrack. Elastic is good in waist. Don’t know what doll this slip was original to, but it is not a Cissy slip. She wears white taffeta Cissy panties that have a light stain on front and have not been washed. Elastic is a little relaxed, but no problem staying up. She is wearing vintage seamed stockings that may be original Cissy, but not quite sure. They are in good condition–very slightly loose at the tops. Her high heels are the original red bases with red felt insole. They previously had red elastic, but I was not paying attention to see that the doll had slid slightly down in her stand and stretched the elastic out. It was replaced with white ankle-strap elastic and a vintage elastic with red trim over the toes. What a job that was! The hat is a Cissy hat and is original to the white organdy summer gown. The white horsehair trim around the edges had damage so was removed to make the hat useful for daytime dresses with red trim. The lilies are in very good condition, and I added a sprig of vintage flowers to cover the stems of the lilies. The sprig is just nestled to cover the stems and has no permanent attachment. They stay in place just fine unless the hat is moved around. The hatband is unstretched and is up in the crown. Cissy’s accessories include a vintage watch with red elastic band, a tiny pearl ring that is not vintage, a pearl necklace (not sure of vintage) and a cute red and white plastic cannister with a lid that opens to hold her necessities. I think this is a vintage item. The doll has no issues with her vinyl arms. She does have splits at the top of both legs and rubs at the inside of her legs at the top. There are no splits in the sheaths above her knees, and there is no crotch split. Her knees bend to sit. I did notice a small line proceeding from the knee “slit” on the right knee when in the sitting position. I can’t really feel a crack, but it is something I haven’t seen on a Cissy before. I don’t have room to add pictures of these things on the listing, but I do have pictures available and would be happy to supply them if you want to see. Stringing seems fine on the doll except that her head bobs when moved. Her head poses easily, but she probably has her original head band, and I know those can give way at any time. I see a little bit of blush remaining on her knees and her right hand, but her cheek color is gone. Her eyes are a green-blue, and they open and close like they should. She has all of her brush lashes and painted ones. Her eyebrows are light, but all there, and her lip color looks good to me. Her medium blonde wig is in its original set, but it does have some weakness. When she first came to me, I was going to do some work on her hair, but right away, a lock of her hair came loose (which I immediately put back with a hairpin and vowed to not touch her hair again, which I haven’t). I have included a picture of that. Even with her flaws, she is a pretty display Cissy–and with such a great outfit. She is from a non-smoking home and is being offered to USA BUYERS ONLY. I don’t believe it has ever been on a doll. Consisting of a long sleeve white lace blouse lined in pale pink organdy. The blouse has a Peter Pan collar, and closes down the front with three rhinestone buttons. The slacks are black velvet with a gold elastic waistband which is in excellent stretchy condition. They close on the side with 2 snaps. The pink silky waist sash with pearl bead decoration wraps around the waist and snaps with a hidden snap. There are a couple of very light yellow spots on the sash, probably due to age & storage. I’m sure this would come out with a little soak and drip drip dry. The pieces in this outfit are not tagged (I have this outfit as well and they’re not tagged either) I do guarantee this set, without question, to be original Madame Alexander Cissy. This was a very popular style back in the 50′s. The set is complete and in its original box which is in great condition as well with the original tissue. A beautiful set in its original box!
