Madame Alexander Makeda The Queen of Sheba Doll Ethidolls NRFB 2006. Doll is New and has never been taken out of the box. Box has a couple of creases. Makeda uses Alexander Dolls’ Alexandra (Alex) Fairchild Ford head sculpt. Two Ethiopian women co-founders, created the EthiDolls concept to introduce young girls and collectors to new role models and icons based on African women leaders from antiquity. EthiDolls’ aim is to help children and adults embrace African heritage, culture and tradition as well as offer a new vision of the African experience through dolls and accessories. The Queen of Sheba Doll, represents the first female ruler of Ethiopia and is the first in EthiDolls’ series of African signature dolls and accessories. Handcrafted for EthiDolls by Madame Alexander, she wears an authentic costume made of rich cotton with a vibrant silk border known as Dereb, one of the oldest fabric designs from Ethiopian antiquity. The fabric is hand-woven by artisans in Ethiopia in support of fair trade principles. The Queen’s classic neck tattoo pattern and gold jewelry are traditional adornments of Ethiopian women still worn today. She is 16 tall, fully poseable and has combable hair. Hair, Eyes, Mouth: Black rooted hair has multiple braids on the top and hangs loose in the back, dark brown painted eyes, closed mouth. Clothes : The hand-woven ivory cotton dress is layered with satin and tulle attached skirts. A rich-colored silk Ethiopian design trims the dress and the matching shawl. Off-white panties, gold hoop earrings, gold bracelets, gold lamé sandals, and a gold pendant on black cord complete the authenticity of the costume. Accessories include a doll stand. THIS IS THE RARE 1949 MADAME ALEXANDER FAIRY QUEEN’ ALL ORIGINAL’ 14 inches tall hard plastic with mohair wig, has her original hair pins’ just missing her crown, I could make a duplicate but so behind’ Yes she has her original wand but has wear, her rayon stockings and oil cloth shoes are very DOLL’ CONDITION IS VERY GOOD, BUT HER GOWN HAS NETTING TORN IN FRONT’ In the back there is a small tear where tag was rip off, a easy repair’ the gown is missing flowers but original hooks intact and they can be replace’ one of the wings have torn netting’ THIS ITEM COMES FROM SOMEONES CURIO CABINET STORED FOR DECADES’ FYI I have added a gold head band.

This is a 14 tall Madame Alexander composition Fairy Queen doll, made during the 1940′s. She has a blond mohair wig and brown eyes, and is wearing her original, tagged outfit. She has been played with. She has crazing on her face, legs, and arms, and smudged paint on the back of her right ankle. There is a small crack in the left side of her face. (which is hidden by her hair) Her net skirt has darkened, is ragged around the hem, and has several holes, there are holes in her wings, and the attached slip has a stain with several holes, as shown in the close-ups. Her socks are soiled, there is a mark on the back of her right shoe, and the heel is missing from the left. The Madame Alexander tag has a tear.
