1950 Madame Alexander Margaret Face 18 CINDERELLA #8800 Doll w/ Box. Hair still in net. However, Her head and right arm are no longer attached as the band inside broke. So, she will need to be repaired as far as that goes. Has her beaded necklace and bracelet. Seems only thing missing is wrist tag. Stress lines on her glass slippers. Box is in poor shape but will be included. Original tissue under the new white tissue. Lid is in really poor shape. All 4 flaps are gone, has brown tape, a chunk missing at the corner and discolored like the bottom of the box. Label on box is faded but can make out the word “Cinderella” and style “8800″. This Cissy dress from 1955, has not been washed, and the fabric has nice body and vibrant color. Its only issue is “flea bits” in the organdy of the left sleeve and some scattered “flea bits” on the skirt, mainly on the right front up toward the waist. Have no idea what caused this, but this was the condition when I bought it. As with most of my Cissy dresses, this one was stored and never used by me for display. Its snaps are secure (3), and the little black velvet bows on the shoulders are in very nice condition. The tag is in excellent condition. The dress has black belt loops and probably had a belt at one time. It now has a silky satin ribbon to tie in a bow at the waist. The skirt is ultra full. The sleeve elastic has relaxed slightly, but they still have nice puff. I have photo’d the flaws. In one pic, there is a mark showing near the hem on the skirt that is actually a little crease that needs to be pressed out. The “flea bites” on the organdy sleeve are really enhanced by the camera, but do not stand out on the doll. Even with these imperfections, it is still a lovely dress to have in your Cissy’s wardrobe. Vintage 1950s Madame Alexander 20 Cissy Doll Blond in Tagged Queen Costume. Pretty Nineteen-fifties Madame Alexander 20 Teenage Cissy doll in an original costume. Cissy is made of hard plastic with vinyl arms. She is jointed at the neck, shoulders, hips and knees. She is strung tight so she can hold a pose. Her knees and hips bend easily. She has pierced ears. Her elbows are not jointed. She has working clear yellow and blue sleep eyes with thick lashes, light painted lower lashes, single stroke eyebrows, tiny amounts of upper eye shadow, pouty lips, lightly blushed cheeks and no body blush. Her queen costume is in good condition and includes the gold brocade gown with medals and blue satin sash, one glove, a bracelet, very full, layered petticoat, hosiery, white elastic heels. Missing her other glove and panties. On the back of her head, Cissy tag inside the gown. I have been told – doll has a “musty” smell. I have a very poor sense of smell – so I don’t smell it. Cissy is in fair, played with condition. This doll has some flaws: eyes are turning yellow from blue, some lashes missing in the center and skin tone is blotchy. Her good points are that she appears to be substantially original because I found other dolls on line, dressed in the Queen costume who also had pierced ears and arms without bending elbows. Her other good point is that her legs pose and bend easily – rare – legs are usually stiff. However, one knee is swingy and does not lock in place – the other knee does lock. Er eyebrows look like they might possibly be re-painted – just not sure. Wig is thick, in original set with a lot of fly-aways, ends are frizzy and wig fabric is showing under the pony tail. Perfect fingers and toes. But no blush on the backs of the hands or knees. Skin tone is clean but blotchy and not even toned. Her arms and head are darker and her torso is lighter than the rest of her. Arms are firmly attached and pose well. Head is firmly attached, sits upright and poses well. Hard plastic body is clean and free of chips, chews or deep scratches. No crotch split, one repaired knee crack and one small 1/4 hip crack. Knee and hip joints bend nicely. Costume is in fair to good condition. Gown closes with working square snaps and has a “wear tear” at the base of the V of the neckline. It also has a seam rip on one side of the bodice that does not go through to the lining – so it is hard to see. One glove is missing. Elastics on bracelet and shoes are stretched out. Come Have Tea with Cissy! Cissy is dressed in a rose-hued tea formal for a delightful afternoon with You! Its a bit big on her and has some minor flaws, but Cissy is clever and pinned it so it fits! Shes not going to pass up the perfect dress just because it might be a bit big. Her vintage undies are authentic to the time-period. The satin bra is very nicely and cleverly mommy-made, while her garter belt is machine made, although rather stretched in the elastic area and has aged in color over the years. Her silky thigh-high nylons are perfect with her vintage and period-authentic Cissy-styled high-heeled sandals. The elastic is relaxed over the toe area but they perfectly compliment her undies and dress. A vintage faux pearl necklace completes her beautiful ensemble. She is as ready as roses for tea! Cissys golden blond Saran wig is authentic to this time period and looks darling on her. It may be an MA original Cissy wig, but Ive had it for so long, I honestly cant authenticate it. I have woven a vintage pink satin ribbon through it and attached vintage flowers. The wig retains its original pins and is in a beautiful factory-original set. Cissys head is a Binnie that was placed upon a more modern Cissy body. Her arms are straight plastic, not vinyl, and do not bend, but her legs are jointed and do. Her clear blue eyes open and shut, she has all of her black brush lashes, although the eyelids do have rubs in the paint, and there is a nick above one eye. There is also a nick above her cute little nose. Her face paint looks good, but the cheek blush is faint and her face is pale. Please look at the photos carefully to assist you in your purchasing decision. If you need more photos, please ask. Like most of us, Cissy isnt perfect and comes with the aforementioned imperfections. She IS 70, but she looks fabulous! Would you expect her to look any less?
