Scarlett O’Hara “Southern Belle”. 14 inch Madame Alexander composition Wendy Ann face. With lovely blue open close eyes which work beautifully. Her wig is original soft mohair like. She is made of composition which is crazing and chipping. Mostly at the shoulders and neck. She will need repair. Neck is marked ALEXANDER – Her body is not loose. My Aunt has her tagged. (Not sure which book I can’t locate it in any that I have) The dress is tagged. “Madame Alexander New York USA” it is in vintage condition. All of the lace is in tact. Snaps are all still sewn on. The blue plaid has faded in the front. There are a few marks on the back but no tears or holes. The plaid ribbons are crisp and bright. The metal hoop in the skirt is bent in a few placed. She wears her original pantaloons. The socks and shoes may have been replaced, not sure. Look at the pics and decide for yourself. The hat is straw with the famous Alexander fabric flowers. She also wears flower corsages on her wrists. READ and LOOK at the pictures. I welcome any questions, do not make any assumptions. For your consideration a RARE and HARD TO FIND (especially in yellow) 1955 SLW Wendy Ann Hard Plastic 8 doll known as Scarlett O’Hara #485. She is wearing a two layer polished muslin gown: white/ yellow flower/green trim with braid and tiny green bows. Has never been washed, you can see the new fabric sheen. Sleeves are tulle and wears large hat with yellow flowers. Dark brown hair and green eyes. The tag on her dress reads Alexander Kins. She wears black fuzzy shoes with side snaps and white socks. Here is a very pretty 18 Scarlett O’hara. She is all original. The only thing I’m not sure about is her socks. She has all hair (human hair). All eyelashes appear to be there but some look a little shorter than others (mainly on the outside and inside corners). Her stringing is good. Both eyes are crystallized. She has extremely light crazing on her face only. She is marked MME ALEXANDER on back of head. Eyes open and close as they should. There is a small crack on the bottom of her right buttock and a little paint chip on her left shoulder. Her right shoe is missing its sole. Her dress is tagged. I dont see any holes. 21 Madame Alexander 1946 Composition Portrait Scarlett O’Hara Original MA tag. 21 Madame Alexander 1946 composition Portrait series Scarlett O’Hara in wonderful vintage condition. Her hand painted facial features show arched brows, blue sleep eyes with blue green eye lids and mohair lashes, eye shadow and three long painted lashes at the outer corner of each eye. Her closed mouth has full red lips. Face paint is all original, no touch ups. The brunette mohair wig is in original set. She is wearing her original very full gown of rust bronze rayon fabric with zipper back and padded bosom. The gown features decorative bands of ribbon and fringe, an open weave black net bodice and lower sleeves tied with black velvet ribbon. At her throat is a pearl encircled red stone “brooch”. A very full petticoat with tiered ruffles and a feather boned hoop with eyelet edge holds out the fullness of the dress skirt. The petticoat has a cloth Madame Alexander tag. This is the only identification that these dolls had. The elegant bonnet shows Madame’s quality creative styling. The bonnet base is a white braid covered by a black netting veil and embellished with rose buds and ribbons. A elegant bow with long streamers ties under the chin. The white cotton stockings, eyelet trimmed pantalettes and the shoes are replaced with copies of the originals. Condition: the face shows one small split at the corner of one eye, and faint crazing. There is crazing on the torso, arms and especially the legs. Some areas have been filled and stabilized. Luckily a lady of the 1860s is clothed from head to toe so any condition issues are covered. There is some spotting on the skirt front which disappears in the folds, and a larger area on the side back(it looks worse in the pictures than it actually is). Her beautiful bluish green eyes have just slightly clouded over the years, but still relatively in good condition compared to others we have seen, and they are framed by all of her original dark eyelashes with subtly smoked eye shadow! You will love this fabulous and amazing doll; we almost kept her for ourselves! Scarlett comes with her FACTORY ORIGINAL BOX, albeit with some wear especially to the lid, retaining its original and correct paper label and remnants of old paper tissue! But what we found especially charming is that the doll was originally given as a Christmas present as the ORIGINAL PROVENANCE is evidenced on the side of the box by hand scripting “FROM SANTA, CHRISTMAS 1941″——–can you imagine getting this doll under YOUR tree this holiday? This is Scarlett O’Hara by Madame Alexander, circa 1940′s. She is all composition and stands approx. This doll is in very nice and original condition with original tagged clothing. Her wig is very nice with original barrettes. Her face is shiny and clean. There is light crazing on her face. Her eyes open and close and are cloudy. The eyelashes are uneven on both eyes and the right eye is missing some lashes (see photo). Her body and limbs are nice with no cracks, breaks or scuffs. There is very light crazing. Her upper right thigh has a deeper craze mark (see photo). She is well strung with no odors. Her original hat is faded and the lace on the back is torn. Her coat is lightly faded and missing two snaps on the front and there is a small stain on the front, otherwise very nice. On the inside, are a few scattered light stains. Her tagged dress is in good condition. There is a repair around the waist (see photo). There are a couple of small pinholes. Her slip is clean and in nice condition. Her pantaloons are nice and a little stretched out at the waist. I do not believe that her shoes are original. Really a nice Scarlett OHara. Unbelievably rare and impossible to find Vintage Scarlett OHara Composition, Madame Alexander Doll, circa 1937. This unique doll is sure to delight every Gone With The Wind fan and Madame Alexander collector! Based on the Wendy Ann doll, she stands 20 tall with her tight, human hair curls in great shape on her beautiful head. The bonnet atop her head is in perfect shape, with a beautiful green, satin ribbon. Her face is suntan with rosy cheeks, her eyes a gorgeous hazel/green, and her lips a rosy red. Her dress is the softest cotton with green polka dots and green satin ribbon detail. Her pantaloons even have green ribbon detail. Her little leatherette shoes are in perfect condition. This Scarlett is special as she is TAGGED in the back on her dress AND she still has her ORIGINAL TAG on her wrist AND her ORIGINAL BOX!! She is a treasure and a wonderful addition to any collectors shelf. Time has gotten to her face, as her eyes show some wear, and she has a few cracks on her face. Her head is slightly loose, but is easily positioned. She is, after all, over 80 years old. I, personally, have an extensive Madame Alexander collection and every time I see this box my heart leaps because I know just how special she is. You will love owning this truly incredible piece of Madame Alexander history.
