Vintage 1939 Madame Alexander 14in “Scarlett O’Hara”. Scarlett is a 14 inch, composition, fully jointed straight leg walker, with a vibrantly colored face. She has black hair in the original set and working blue sleep eyes. She is wearing a green silk full length double button coat and matching bonnet with light green ties. She wears a pink flowered/ green leaf print dress and a ruffle-trimmed half slip. Double ruffled trimmed pantelets, nylon socks and black snap shoes adorned with black bows complete her outfit. Please look over pixs to observe the following described flaws from aging that Scarlet has. Miss O’Hara does have a few small hairline cracks in the face that are not very visible except when looking up close, the tie on the right side of her silk bonnet is worn away some, the 2nd button down on her overcoat is faded and she is missing a bow on her left shoe. Her bonnet also has some wear in the material in areas that can seen in the pictures provided. She can be found on page 54 of Patricia R. Smith’s “Madame Alexander Collector’s Dolls” and is pictured on page 19 of Majorie Victoria Sturges UHL “Madame Alexander’s Made With Love”. She comes with a doll stand and is from a smoke-free home. Scarlett O’Hara “Southern Belle”. 14 inch Madame Alexander composition Wendy Ann face. With lovely blue open close eyes which work beautifully. Her wig is original soft mohair like. She is made of composition which is crazing and chipping. Mostly at the shoulders and neck. She will need repair. Neck is marked ALEXANDER – Her body is not loose. My Aunt has her tagged. (Not sure which book I can’t locate it in any that I have) The dress is tagged. “Madame Alexander New York USA” it is in vintage condition. All of the lace is in tact. Snaps are all still sewn on. The blue plaid has faded in the front. There are a few marks on the back but no tears or holes. The plaid ribbons are crisp and bright. The metal hoop in the skirt is bent in a few placed. She wears her original pantaloons. The socks and shoes may have been replaced, not sure. Look at the pics and decide for yourself. The hat is straw with the famous Alexander fabric flowers. She also wears flower corsages on her wrists. READ and LOOK at the pictures. I welcome any questions, do not make any assumptions. Vintage Madame Alexander 14in Sonja Henie Doll Olympic Skater Composition Original Dress. Original antique Sonja Henie Olympic ice skater doll, made by Madame Alexander, circa 1935. Stands approximately 14 tall with a composition head & jointed body. Will need to be restrung as the stringing loose. Her face and body overall has crazing from age. Full lashes, eyes are a little blurry. Dress is marked and doll has her original hand tag. I cannot tell if her head is marked due to the way the wig is glued low by the edge of her head. Outfit appears clean but feathers seem to easily fall off easily as they are very soft from age. Overall the doll is very delicate and needs to be handled with care.
