Most of the original items were in the trunk, including this signature “Cissy Takes a Trip” outfit. The outfit includes the houndstooth skirt, white shirt, tagged black jacket, red cotton slip and hat. Note that the material on the edges of the sleeve opening of the shirt are a variation as they are NOT edged in lace. CONDITION: The outfit appears to have been well taken care of by the original owner and is in nice condition overall. Some wrinkling from storage. The hat may need a bit of re-shaping and the chin strap has lost much of it’s original stretchiness. There is maybe just a touch of general soil on the top and jacket and, if you look closely, there’s just a tiny bit of faint color transfer on the right side of the collar of the top (most likely from the original red bow tie which is no longer present). There is a small mend to a side seam of the jacket. The skirt and slip both look very nice. Waistbands still have stretchiness. I’ve been questioned about the flowers on the hat. All I can say is they’re the flowers that were on the hat when I acquired it and I have no reason to think they are not original. If they vary from what is commonly recognized for this outfit, please remember that, as mentioned above, the edges of the sleeves of the shirt are also a variation. Madame Alexander DID have variations in her clothing and accessories. In my opinion, if the flowers are different from what is commonly found, then they’re a variation, not a replacement. Most of the original items were in the trunk, including this harder to find “Bittersweet” sun dress. The dress is tagged and closes with 3 buttons in back. Note that the 3 buttons are a variation of the more commonly found 5 buttons. CONDITION: The dress appears to have been well taken care of by the original owner. The bottom button has been replaced. The dress is in nice condition overall, though does have some wrinkling from storage and maybe just a bit of light soil around the arm openings. Cleaning may be necessary or desired. This is a wonderful Pamela play doll by Madame Alexander using the Lissy face from 1968. She comes with 3 dresses, 2 of the three wigs (the brunette one is missing), tagged ballet outfit with floral head piece and ballet slippers and 1 floral night gown. After research I came to the conclusion that these are pieces of different trunk sets from 1968 and 1970. I did take photos from the books Madame Alexander Collector’s dolls by Patricia Smith on page 153 and Madame Alexander Dolls on Review by Marjorie Sturges Uhl on page 214 (Doll in photo is in the same dress only in yellow). All dresses including the night gown have Madame Alexander square snaps and are lined with organdy fabric as Madame Alexander is known for along with them being identified in the books but are not tagged. The pale pink dress does have a few brown stains as does the trunk. This is not a Pamela trunk as it is to big. I don’t know if it is even a Madame Alexander trunk. There is a name on the trunk in black, please see photo. As for the lovely doll she is in great condition. Her bald head does have the original Velcro strip as do both wigs. Her stringing is good and tight. Slight staining to her right arm. Face coloring is excellent. No international orders and Thank you so much for looking. This set is so cute. Cissy has several outfits with all the things she needs to go on vacation. I checked and all the items that are listed in the catalog are here. The clothes in the trunk look like they were folded from the factory. Shoes still in plastic etc. This doll has no box, but her COA is in the trunk. The catalog states she has 2 wigs. It shows her wearing a blonde wig, and with her other outfit wearing a brunette wig. She actually has 3 wigs. She seems to be wearing a honey blonde wig and the other 2 wigs are in the trunk. Not sure how you switch wigs, I dont want to mess with the hair. She said she believes the doll I have is actually morning ritual Cissy. She does look like the Yardley morning ritual Cissy without the robe, slippers etc. Which makes sense, morning ritual Wig is permanent. Cant change out wigs.
