Original Vintage Madame Alexander Elise. Dressed For Quiet Evenings… Of television at home, (1958). Doll & 3 piece outfit only…….. This is my last vintage Elise for sale. She’s in wonderful condition with no flaws. She has green eyes, all of her face paint is perfect which includes lashes, brows, eyelashes & lip color. Her blush is FANTASTIC. I’ll try to take a better photo showing this. Her hair is perfect, still in the original curls. Elise wears aqua velvet pants with tight gold elastic, lace blouse buttons up the back with dramatic sash of pink starched chiffon. This morning her outfit was PRISTINE PRISTINE but I managed to put 3 little holes in the sash. Yep, I’m not happy about that however they are easily hidden in the folds of the sash. I have to take more body photos tomorrow & will add them for you to see. Here for your consideration is a gorgeous ball gown and matching wrap for your Cissy doll, as well as the taffeta hoop slip and net hairpiece that accompany the outfit. It has been in my collection for awhile, tucked away, not displayed. This outfit has been classified as “rare” in the “Cissy Files” book by Shaw. This gown is known as the Camelia gown. Unlike the print of the more common Camelia gown, which has monochromatic flowers closely spaced together, the flowers on this fabric are widely spaced and are in various shades of pink with green stems and leaves on a cream background. The fabric used for the gown and cape is really sumptuous. The gown is silk and is fully lined with taffeta. It has a sweetheart neckline and the bodice is decorated with a bow at the waist. The skirt portion falls in loose box pleats from the bodice and has a slight train in the back. The cape is pink velvet lined with the matching floral silk. As to the condition of this outfit it is excellent/near mint. The colors on the gown are beautiful and vibrant. There are no rips, tears, stains or repairs. There is one spot of soiling on the gown which I have photographed. It is not a stain, more like a smudge, and could probably be easily removed. Other than that, there is some fading to the velvet on the front of the pink cape. My camera won’t pick it up but it is not dramatic and doesn’t detract. The five snaps on the gown are all secure. The elastic waist on the taffeta slip is stretched out. A thread has been woven through the elastic to assist in tightening it up. The original floral hairpiece is also included. It is very fragile. The netting has some holes and a pink flower may be missing. These garments are an excellent display of the incredible workmanship and quality that the Madame Alexander company was famous for. Here is a vintage 8 Madame Alexander Doll. She is marked ALEX on her back. She is in old condition. She is hard plastic, and all movable, her knees do not bend.
