Madame Alexander Dolls

Here for your consideration is 13 inch Wendy Ann produced circa 1935 by Madame Alexander. She is a beautiful doll in excellent condition. Also included is her box. This doll has not been played with, and if she was ever displayed, it was done with great care. Wendy Ann is an all composition doll with a socket head and is jointed at the shoulders and hips. She has blue sleep eyes, human hair lashes, dark eyeshadow, a bow shaped mouth and a blonde human hair wig with original curls. Her face paint is vivid. She is marked on her back “Wendy-Ann, Mme-Alexander”. The clothing Wendy Ann is wearing is mint and all original. It consists of a pink organdy dress with white lace trim and accented with an attached black velvet sash, a matching bonnet, cotton slip and panties. She also has white socks and black leather side snap shoes with bows. All the clothing is crisp and bright. The dress is tagged. Er composition is in outstanding condition. I see one small, very shallow crack, about a half inch in length, above her left eye and a smaller line above her right eye. I found these using a magnifying glass. She has very little if any crazing on the areas of exposed composition. I prefer not to remove her clothing. There are a few “flea bites” of missing paint on her left hand. This, the little crack above her eye, and the eyes starting to craze are the only issues that keep her from being truly mint in my opinion. Kind of amazing for a composition doll over eighty years old. He box is in very good condition – nice and sturdy. There is some damage to the corners, a few bits of missing paper and a piece of tape on the label. All in all this is an exquisite little doll for your collection. Wendy Dressed for Summer Morning with special hairdo. “Wendy Dressed for Summer Morning” Wendy is a SLW (that works, legs move when you turn head) very cute blonde hair in a special hairdo that is rolled with a side part and green ribbon. Eyes open and shut freely, pink cheeks, light brown eyebrows and she is marked:Alex on her back. Wendy is dressed in a green cotton dress with matching panties, white pinafore with pink rose floral design, white rayon socks and green velvet side snap shoes with fuzzy bottoms. Dress is tag: Alexander kins and has been stitch down. Pictures were taken inside with a flash and as you can see there is variation in the color at the shoulders and around the hem where pinafore didn’t cover. The pinafore could used some freshening(but that will be up to the new owner) Really nice green velvet shoes. All of my Items have been bought at auctions or estate sales. Scarce Madame Alexander 7.5 Doll Wendy+Plastic Mount in Original Box 1957 #1885. From a large Madame Alexander dolls & Accessories collection. Once again an opportunity to own a good doll. Condition is excellent except that the short leg warmers are mothed, as shown. The box is not in great condition, large side is undone on one seam, the lid is broken on all 4 corners, box will not be flat packed. Her eye mechanism is tight, but you can open and close her eyes with the assistance of your finger. I have added some extra images, face close up and back of the head. This is one small error in the description above, no stand with this doll. This beauitful all original 1954 vintage Madame Alexander Queen Elizabeth doll is very rare and hard to find. She stands a nice large size of 18 inches tall. Her hair is in its original set. She has open and close sleep eyes in perfect working condition with full lashes. Her eyes are nice and bright as is her facial coloring. Two Madame Alexander dolls that were my mother’s. She believes she would have gotten them in the 1960s. The one in the purple dress is having head issues (head is not properly attached), however, it looks like an easy fix and everything else about her is in excellent condition. Her outfit is in amazing condition considering the age. Her eyes open and shut properly too. All parts are in excellent condition just not holding together (it appears the elastic-rubber band type connectors) have fallen apart. Eyes open and shut properly. This is a vintage Cissy, Madame Alexander’s gorgeous fashion doll of the 1950s. She comes from the estate of her original owner, who obviously treated her very kindly. This doll is a beauty and very nice, with minor flaws. My favorite thing about this doll is her hair. It is in the original factory set, with a large barrette across the top of her head, and the sides pulled back smoothly. In back, her curls are neatly contained in a hair net near her neck. There are a few strays poking out of the hairdo, but still amazing hair! She has hazel-blue eyes with all their lashes. Her eyes are clear. They sometimes need help closing. Her face paint is original and very nice. She has strong blush on the cheeks and coral lips. There is a bit of blush on her earlobes. I see a few faint and tiny marks here and there but I did not try to wash her face. Her body is structurally sound, no cracked or broken parts, no chews or anything like that. She has blush on her knees. Her arms are paler than the rest of her. She has a blueish mark on the back of her right forearm; see shot of her nude with arms raised to show this. Again, I did not try to clean. They look good though. Her arms stay raised, but her head nods down slightly so I think the stringing holding her head should be tightened. Cissy is wearing what I think are her original earrings, pearl drops with pretty metal detail. She has on her original nylon stockings which amazingly are in nice condition with no runs! Her black high heel sandals are intact but the elastic on them is all stretched out; could be repaired by someone who knows how not me! Her vintage outfit is vintage and likely made from a pattern specifically for these stately fashion girls. It’s a chic summer suit, with a dark brown pencil skirt, cream colored blouse with round collar, and matching brown cape — perfect for a warm day in the city. The blouse is yellowed with age — I did not try to clean. She also has a stylish hat, light straw color trimmed with a dark brown and cream ribbon and a brown button. There is an old blue toy watch on her wrist; the string is very stretched out. Thank you for looking. A vintage Doll by Madame Alexander from the 1950′s. Tag reads, Alexander-Kins, and card tag attached to wrist introduces her as’Wendy Ann’. Height is 7.5 ins, moving sleep eyes. All original condition, which is perfect, since she has spent all her life in the box. Two bouquets of Silk flowers have a label’ made in japan’. The card box is very good and bears a label stating model # 506, Blonde, Blue. Also comes with an original 20 page, (including covers), catalog that features other dolls in the same range. This catalog is in slightly distressed condition with some tears and writing.
