Alexander-kins tagged pink organdy shadow print dress and matching bloomers in beautiful condition. This dress is a lovely pink color with no fading or discoloring. There are no stains, tears holes or odors. The fabric has nice body and sits out beautifully. The matching bloomers with tight original stretch are in excellent condition. Madame Alexander 8 doll still in original box. Box has scribble marks and a couple of minor tears on the lid. The doll is in excellent condition doesn’t appear to be played with very much. She is complete bonnet dress under garments and shoes all in excellent condition. This lovely lady is Cousin Grace who was a guest at Scarlett and Rhett’s wedding. She is a very RARE Madame Alexander 8 Kins doll. Madame Alexander made her for one year only, 1956, and she is hardly ever seen. She is #632, a Bend Knee Walker. Our Cousin Grace has a beautiful long blond, triple-stitched wig. Her deep blue eyes that open and close freely set off her flawless face. Her eyebrows are well defined and the lashes under her eyes have not faded. She has delicate cheek blush to go with her delicate coloring. She wears a cream colored, silk full length gown with a scattered coral rose design. The bodice has a scoop neck and puffy long sleeves closing with elastic at the cuffs. There is a magenta ribbon at her waist decorated with two circles of pearls. The skirt is two teared and very full. It is tagged at the back of the neck with a tag saying, Alexander-kins, by Madame Alexander. The tag has turquoise writing on the white (slightly age darkened) fabric tag. She wears an incredible HAT trimmed with the same magenta ribbon, two magenta silk roses and a tiny sprig of white flowers. The ensemble is finished off with a full length white slip bordered in white vintage lace and matching bloomers. The elastic is unstretched in both. She wears pink side-snap shoes with white (aged slightly) nylon socks. The slip, bloomers, and shoes are replacements. As shown in the photos, there is a bit of red on this doll’s stomach as a result of fabric transfer. The back of her hair has glue residue. And, there is a very minor discoloration about mid-back. It is so subtle I could not capture it in a photo. The waist ribbon may have been shortened as it is not long enough to make an appropriate bow in the back. I just discovered a snag of approximately 1/4 in the right rear of the dress. It is shown in the last photo. Until September 7 before returning to my home in Panama. Please study the photos. 13 inch Wendy Ann produced circa 1935 by Madame Alexander. She is a beautiful doll in excellent condition. Also included is her box. This doll has not been played with, and if she was ever displayed, it was done with great care. Wendy Ann is an all composition doll with a socket head, jointed at the shoulders and hips. She has brown sleep eyes, human hair lashes.. (all are there)dark eyeshadow, a bow shaped mouth and an ash blonde human hair wig with original curls. She is marked on her back “Wendy-Ann, Mme-Alexander”. The clothing Wendy Ann is wearing is mint and all original. It consists of blue and white organdy dress with white lace/eylet trim and accented with 2 bottoms, a blue straw hat, her original cotton slip and panties. She also has white socks and cream colored leather side snap shoes with bows. All the clothing is crisp and bright. Only small amount of crazing.. I LIKE HAPPY COLLECTORS! This is a grouping of items that range from very good to just fair in condition. I will do my best to give a brief description of each of the items. “Wendy Does the Highland Fling” – Dress is beautiful but is missing gem at waist. “Shopping with Auntie” – Top Jacket hole is week and dress and jacket have some fading. “Wendy in Dude Ranch Outfit” – Pants Excellent (great tight waist), Shirt & Correct Belt Great Condition, Hat is missing the gold ribbon around the top of hat. “Wendy Loves School Dresses”- Very Good Condition No Issues. “Riding Outfit” – Pants and Top Great Condition, Hat is in Good Condition with one small hole to felt. “Wendy in Suspender Dress” – Rare outfit but…. Skirt looks played with and there was a repair to the arm seam in the back which I have shown a picture of. Great for display but has issues. “Wendy Looking Very Well Dressed” – Played with Condition and arms need to be re-elasticized. Red Dress- Very Good Played with Condition. Night Gown- Good Condition. Red Skirt- Excellent Condition and nice tight waist. Ballerina tutu- In good condition but needs flowers replaced at waist. White Rain Coat- Good Condition. Vintage Adorable “Wendy Ann, Southern Bell” 1954. SLW (straight leg walker) 8 Hard Plastic Doll. Arrow all the way down to see More close-up pictures of her. We are offering this adorable fancy Alexander-kins Wendy from our long time collection. She is a SLW straight leg walker, sleepy eye, She is marked Alex on her back. Original factory, Auburn hair color, with bangs and flip hair style. Her wig is original, T RIPLE. STITCHED, never restyled, clean andThick. Wendy has visible eyebrows and her pretty eyes flicker open and close with ease pretty and clear. No scrapes or scuffs, No redoing, she is all original. Her walking mechanism works when you move her head her legs move back and forth and her arms are strung well and hold a pose. Her dress is white organdy with lots of lace, nice and stiff. The arms of the dress are a tule fabric. She has on her original slip, the elastic in not as tight as it once was at the waist. Under her dress and slip she is wearing long pantaloons, waist is snug. The dress closes in the back with the original snaps, So cute and so fancy. On her head is her original bonnet with stiff straw lace, tiny pink fuzzy flowers are attached to the inside and outside of the hat. Her bonnet closes with the original pink satin ribbons. Wendy Ann’s outfit has never been removed from her, no shelf dust detected, as she has been packed away and still in nice condition for being 61 years old. (See all photos below). She is wearing fuzzy black side snap shoes (No repairs) and white anklets. Wendy Ann Alexander-kins is fancy, Clean, never displayed or played with. She has no box so she is ready to display. They were given to her as a gift, when she was 13 years old, in the 1930′s. She felt she was much too old to play with dolls, and they were put away in the attic; so, they are completely original, and have only been removed for cleaning. They have been stored all this time and have suffered a little age related wear, to the clothing and basket; but, still in pretty good condition. Everything is as follows. 8 Composition Dolls- Have been lightly cleaned. The composition is in amazing condition, for the age, and having been stored for so long. Dolls still have their original face paint and blushed cheeks, elbows, and knees. There is very minimal paint loss, to the painted hair, from storage. The dolls have very little crazing. The original stringing is stretched and they will need to be re-strung. Original Wicker Basket-The basket does show storage wear, the wicker is very dry. I have put the handles back on with cotton string and never recommend picking it by those handles. Brass & Leather closures still work. Basket Interior-The pink satin pillows, w/ lace trim, are still intact, on the bottom and inside top. Clothing-I carefully hand-washed all pieces. A couple of the Romper sets will need repair to the organza collars and satin ribbon ties replaced, on the bonnets. The Party Dresses are in good condition, with just a little staining; but, I was afraid to get too aggressive, in my washing. Also, the matching Bonnets will need the satin ribbon ties replaced also, if desired. Their oil cloth shoes are largely in good condition and only 3 need repair, where the snap pulled away from the straps. All nylon socks are in good condition. Dolls & Clothing are marked “Alexander” and the original hang-tag, is still present. They are a lovely find and a bonus to any collection. Be sure to add me to your favorites list. Dress for a Party “The Prettiest Girl You Know is Wendy”. Eyes open and shut freely, and she is marked:Alex on her back. Wendy has a very pretty face with great color, with pink cheeks, light brown eyebrows and rosebud mouth. She must have wore red at sometime since she has a very light pink on the inside crease of her legs. This Wendy dress took a lot of looking before I found it, can be seen on the Internet. Alexander kins/Wendy is dressed for a party in a pink nylon dress with flocked dots and pink & blue clover blossoms flowers. Pink satin bow ties in back. Has lace around bottom, neck and sleeves. (lace has yellow some from age, I sure if washed it would be white again). Has a darker pink lining on bodice of dress. White panties and slip that the waist has been tighten, not so white socks and white side snap shoes with fuzzy bottoms. Her hat is vintage and might not be the right one, but she was wearing it when I got her. It is a light tan with pink flowers, since it lost the chin strap not sure how it fits. Rare 18 Vintage All Original Madame Alexander Glamour Girl Doll Godey Lady. She is one of 7 gorgeous dolls from the Madame Alexander Glamour Girls series – produced only in 1953. Please reference page 57-58 of book “Treasury of Madame Alexander Dolls” by Jan Foulke, C 1983, Second Edition, Hobby House Press, where the seven dolls in the series are pictured and described: A breath-taking series of seven ladies created by madame Alexander in 1953. All are 18 hard plastic dolls with walking mechanism…. All the costumes are of the Civil War Period Gone-With-theWind type…. Full skirts, tiny waists and hoop skirts. This beautiful 18 Glamour Girl Godey Doll is all original and very hard to find. These were high end dolls when made, and since they were made one year only, all seven are rarely found. She has the Maggie face, clear brown sleep eyes with all lashes intact, and is dressed in full length gown having apricot red taffeta skirt with white bodice and sleeves, over this she wears a gray faux fur stole lined with matching taffeta, ribbon ties. Matching bonnet has wide brim and gathered crown. She has wired crinoline petticoat with deep ruffled hem, ruffled bloomers, white thigh high seamed stockings and black shoes. Dress retains “Madame Alexander” cloth label – retains crisp lettering. She is a walker, head is a little loose, but turns smoothly when legs move. She has nice coloring – bangs are feathered and a little uneven but I believe that’s how she was made. There is no box or wrist tag, and no hat box. Shoes and stockings are in near mint condition. She will be a star addition to any collection of early Madame Alexander fashion ladies……… Or specialized collection of the 7 dolls that made up the Glamour Girl Series. Thank you for looking!
