Pretty 1953 “Wendy” 7 1/2 SLNW Heavy hard plastic. Green Eyes open and shut freely, and she is marked:Alex on her back. Her dark brunette wig is triple stitched with nice original curl. Skin tones slightly tan color, light pink on cheeks and red rosebud mouth. Wendy is wearing a pretty checked (white & blue) tagged dress, crochet lace around the neck and arms, pink appliques flowers on front. Buttons down the back with a belt that ties. Wendy has a few problems as I discovered after I got her home and started looking at her. Her left leg has the plastic hook replaced with a metal hook, she is still tightly strung, and you don’t see on less you pull her leg out. She has a spot of glue in the back, I didn’t see it till the camera light pointed it out, a small dent on the inside of left arm. Some of the pictures were taken outside trying to give true color. Madame Alexander BELLA 8 NRFB 2004 MDCC Modern Doll Convention Chicago 36560. BELLA is the souvenir from the 2004 Modern Doll Convention in Chicago. She is a limited edition of 50. The doll is 8 inches tall. She is made of vinyl. She has blue sleep eyes, and blonde hair that is pulled back into corkscrew curls. The doll is wearing a blue satin and brocade drop waist dress. The bodice has long sleeves. It is trimmed with navy blue braid and white lace. The skirt is in two layers – the top layer is solid blue, the bottom layer is brocade. The skirt is trimmed with lace around the hem. She is wearing brown lace up boots. Her slip and bloomers are white and trimmed with lace. She comes with a hoop and stick. The doll is in her original box. The certificate is included. The doll is in excellent condition – she has never been removed from the box – she has been stored in a climate-controlled environment. G’day from Down Under I’ve been collecting Madame Alexander dolls, and in particular Alexanderkins, for quite a lot of years now. Started with Cissy, Lissy and Maggie, and then moved on to the smaller dolls when space became an issue. Having recently downsized our living arrangements yet again (which means even less room for displaying my dolls) I have struggled with the idea of letting some of them go (I have around 100, many of them pretty close to mint condition) but now I realise it’s time to do this. This one is a 1955 straight leg walker, blonde triple stitched wig is lovely set, and wearing “Wendy Goes to Rodeo”; suede cloth outfit trimmed with fringe and felt. Hair is in braids with green ribbons and she has green boots with gold painted design. The sombrero-style hat is trimmed with same braid as on her outfit. The elastic chin strap on the hat is very relaxed, and I haven’t attempted to tighten it. I prefer my dolls to be as original as possible, and this girl is all original. Of course one doesn’t usually expect to achieve book price these days, but it is a guide as to the rarity and value of this doll. Of course the market always determines the price of anything offered for sale. Flutter eyes are a deep blue and move freely. Being a 1955 alexkin, she has no under-eye lashes, and as you can see her face colour is still lovely. The only minor flaw I can detect is a slight brown mark on her left inner knee, which again I haven’t tried to change. She has (I believe) her original stringing, and her legs are a tad relaxed, meaning that she finds it difficult to stand on her own, so a future owner may choose to restring her legs, an easy enough task, but one which I’ll leave to the new owner. Vintage 1950s Madame Alexander Cissy doll jointed 20 with original dress bonus. From original owner, here is a 1950s vintage Madame Alexander 20 inch Cissy doll with original dress and several additional handmade outfits. She is in excellent condition except for scratches and discoloration on her right forearm. She is a little dusty and smudged from gentle play, display and storage, but should clean up nicely. There is no discoloration or fading of the face. Her sleep eyes work. Her knees and elbows are jointed and the string is tight. The back of the neck is marked Alexander. She comes dressed in the original yellow gown with bonnet, teddy chemise, pantaloons and stockings. The detail on the dress is extraordinary with extra attention on the back of the gown. All three layers of the skirt of the dress are in great condition. All clothing pieces are intact wit no holes or town seams. The teddy is all lace and in great condition and although it is discolored with age and the elastic in the straps of the body suit is loose, it is a rare piece! The bonnet has a few pin sized spots that may be rust. The stockings are also in great condition with no tears. This doll ships with three bonus professionally handmade outfits including two gowns and a very cute pajama set. The peach gown comes with matching shoes. Madame Alexander Elise dolls, quantity of 2, are all original, tagged and both dolls have their red spike heels (elastic on both pairs of shoes has been stretched, cut). The doll in the red skirt is beautiful, cream color jacket, striped top underneath jacket, flocked slip, taffeta panties. The doll in the white slacks has beautiful original hair, no underwear, no stockings… The white slacks may have been washed, there is a light stain on the front of the slacks. The white halter top is great and the navy jacket has some signs of fading when examined. From a smoke free home. This listing is for a BEAUTIFUL STRUNG Alexander-kins from the first year Madame Alexander produced her 8 dolls. She is a STRAIGT LEG NON-WALKER and is unique in that, only in 1953, did Madame Alexander make these dolls with solid legs. She is significantly heavier than later kins. Also, since she is strung, she can be posed in a great variety of poses, including tilting her head which the later walkers are unable to do. This sweet doll is blessed with a honey blond triple-stitched wig in it original set. Her clear blue eyes open and close nicely. She has flawless red lips and lightly blushed cheeks. Her painted bottom lashes are perfect. She is tightly strung, stands on her own and holds a pose nicely. If she was played with at all, it was very lightly. She wears t agged, pink panties and perfect black suede shoes with fuzzy bottoms accompanied by pink rayon socks. I found a slight indentation at the inside of her right eyebrow which I believe was made during her manufacture. Until September 8 before returning to my home in Panama. Please study the photos. 21 VINTAGE COMPOSITION MADAME ALEXANDER MADELEINE DE BAINE W/ CLOTHING. She is wearing her original tagged dress. It does show age wear. There are some holes, stains and the lace trim needs to be refastened to the neckline in the back. That all being said, it does still present well for display, I think. The doll is quite loose and should be restrung. She has full lashes and working sleep eyes, but the eyes themselves are “splattered”. She does have all over crazing as shown. There is damage to one of her fingers. The blue taffeta coat has a Madame Alexander tag, but nothing else is tagged. Please super size and view all of the photos for condition. Tough doll to find!
