Here she is, the rare and beautiful Cissy. She is from a non smoking home and has no cracks or cuts and no odors. She stands on her own holds a pose well. Madame Alexander 1950s Cissy doll, 21 with pink and white striped dress, white coat, white sandals, hat with flower, necklace and earrings. There is a small gray smudge at the top of the dress from the hook and eye on the coat, very faint small, yellow smudge on back of legs below knee–couldn’t get it show up in the pics, jointed legs. Marietta is an 18 jointed vinyl doll with blue eyes and long blonde hair that was designed by Sonja Hartmann as one of the dolls in the Kidz’n’ Cats series of dolls that was distributed circa 2010-on by the Alexander Doll Company. She is doll face #3 and belongs to the “Heart & Soul” collection. She appears MINT in her original box as she still remains tied to her liner and both upper and lower flaps to her box remain factory scotch-taped. Marietta wears her “Marietta” hang tag on her right wrist, while her booklet is loose inside of its packaging. Her box sustains wear and tear from age and storage, while its plastic window sustains dings and light scuffing. The contents are MINT! No blemishes on her face as the photos may suggest. That is camera flash against the plastic window. Marietta and her Cat are harder to find, I believe, as they are earlier and now retired. I do not want you to be disappointed. She has never been played with or undressed, see her perfect shoe ribbons, hairstyle and flowers, and bright white coloring of her tagged tutu and underslips. She has her original wrist string that held her wrist tag as well. Jointed hard plastic body with perfect blue sleep eyes and high facial coloring with red lips and cheeks, clothing is like new, with original Nina Ballerina Madame Alexander tag. She wears the winter white tutu with silver rickrack trim with flowers at the waist and shoulder and in her hair, pink satin ballet shoes with ribbons that have never been disturbed, and her original bloomers with snap back and attached second net slip. She has her original curls in her bangs and her hairstyle has not been disturbed. Sleep eyes open and close freely, she holds a pose well with her neck and arms. The only flaw I can see is a tiny paint rub on her upper left lip (see pictures), and the shoe ribbons have a tiny bit of fraying on the edge but still retain their factory placement. Her larger underslip also has silver rickrack trim, and her long tutu is factory-pleated and like new. She wears a little string of beads as well. I did not undress her as I don’t want to disturb her perfect outfit. Her original box still retains its Madame Alexander face label and is numbered Style 4015, checked white for color and blonde for hair and blue for eyes. Box has some light discoloration overall and some creasing along a couple of the bottom edges but is quite sturdy and has its original pink tissues inside. This rare near-mint example of this sweet doll would make a wonderful gift for the advanced collector. When restoring these 75 year old + dolls, great care is taken in having them look like they did when they were mint & new. Color is vibrant, Finish is satiny, features are complete and great effort has been taken to replicate the originality from the factory. MARGARET O’BRIEN Madame Alexander doll Child actress contemporary of Judy Garland and Others. She has Clear sleep eyes, Her original Mohair wig in loop braids which is in great shape. She is marked Alexander faintly on the back of her head. Her outfit is Factory made and of her day and style, but not original. Dress is dimity floral with a Organdy pinafore. Hat is vintage straw with old millinery. Good vintage shoes and socks. These girls have the prettiest faces. More beauties listed, so please take a look. Please look at all the pictures. There are good & clear close-ups. The item has been photographed well. The pictures are part of the description & support both the description and condition of the item. You have the option to use the magnification feature as well. Sometimes these 50-80 year old dolls just dont survive the test of time very well. Finding a skilled restorationist is as hard to find as the rare doll itself. This is a ART. A labor of love & mostly a lot of sanding. With these collectible pieces, I have done my best to keep the doll looking as original as possible when the doll was factory made (not what a 80 year old faded doll looks like). With that being said, These are still Vintage & Antique dolls. Composition especially has a lot of factory nuances that other materials do not have. Their imperfections are part of the charm of composition. This doll has been repaired if needed, and eyes will be clear and a appropriate color. There will be no missing fingers or toes. I use paints which are very similar to the ones used by the factory. The overhaul process includes stripping, filling, sanding, priming, airbrush painting, hand painted features & sealing. I pay special attention to the faces and they are completely smooth. I line the head socket with suede. I have been a skilled Artist all my life. Here, for your consideration is one absolutely gorgeous Madame Alexander 1957 Cissy doll, in her original outfit. This Cissy is beautiful! Her face paint is vivid, her eyes are blue and have all their lashes. Her rosy cheeks are lovely. I see no cracks anywhere. Her body coloring is even. I picked the ones I thought would give you a good view of her. Cissy is dressed in her original Bridal outfit named “Satin Train” from 1957. This wedding gown shows off a full gathered tulle skirt. The satin bodice is decorated with a thick trim accented with silver threads. A pleated Satin train cascades in the back of the dress. She also wears a chapel length veil with a coronet of flowers. She wears an under slip, which the elastic has stretched out and is pinned to hold it up. Her high heel shoes are in a plastic bag and will come with her. They look to be in good condition. Cissy is wearing her original pearl earrings, but on one side, the little teardrop is missing. She is wearing a pearl necklace and I believe it to be original to her. Her beautiful little head seems to be a little loose, but is attached. I just noticed, in the first nude picture, her hair seems to be parted a little and you can see that in the pictures. For your consideration, a beautiful 1959 Madame Alexander #1810, Elise is jointed at ankles, knees and elbows. Elise Ballerina 15 Gold cloth top with gold net tutu. She wears gold net skirt gold lame bodice that is sequin trimmed, a sequin tiara and gold ballet slippers with gold ties. Her outfit is in excellent condition as well as her slippers.
