This is one of the loveliest walker dolls I’ve seen. The only marking I have found on her is a raised “200″ on the base of her head on the back near the neckline. She appears to be hard plastic with a matte toning which mimics composition (though she has mold lines at her fingers). Her clothing is all original. The cross at her waist is marked “Czechoslav” on the backside. Her arms and legs are not jointed. Her arms are swing arms with attachment at the shoulder but do not have much range of motion due to the habit that she is wearing. The legs swing and move her head back and forth in the typical walker doll movement. She has blue sleep eyes and the upper lashes on both eyes are present. Lower lashes are painted features as shown. She has a delicate open mouth with teeth and red felt backing. She does not have any hair as her veiling is attached to the head and not removable. She stands nearly 18 1/2 tall. Her cheeks and coloration have been delicately added. In person, she is simply lovely – no other word for it. No cracking, crazing, or chipping of her body, limbs, face, etc. Her clothing is in excellent condition. Which is the weight of the item and packing materials used to get it safely to your door. Listing another Cissy from my personal collection. This is a 21 beautiful Madame Alexander Cissy doll. She is from the 1950s I think 1956. She has on her rare viole clover tagged dress. The dress has pink clover flowers with green rick rack trim, rhinestones and lace on the bodice and a green satin ribbon sash. This dress is very hard to find and usually fragile but this one in crisp and minty. She has on her pink lace slip, (I think the undies are replaced) nylons and white with red heel strap shoes. She has a beautiful pink straw picture hat with flowers and netting. Long ago I felt she needed some jewelry to wear with her outfit so I made her the necklace and bracelet, the necklace is fine but the bracelet has melted onto her wrist(see picture) I think it will pull off but I thought I would let the new owner decide. I guess that wasnt a smart decision on my end. She does have her ring. She has the most gorgeous face with beautiful blue eyes, all her top and bottom painted lashes, brows, pink lips and rosy cheek color. She has shiny blonde hair in original set. I have had her for a very long time and have never undressed her but every thing looks good, no cracks splits, stains, tears or repairs. A truly wonderful Cissy doll. She is over 60 years old so she cant be expected to be brand new but is a really nice doll. Yaa Asantewaa was the queen mother of the Edweso tribe of the Asante (Ashanti) in what is modern Ghana. At the time, the Gold Coast (west-central Africa) was under the British protectorate. In addition, they took over the state-owned gold mines thus removing considerable income from the Asante government. Missionary schools were also established and the missionaries began interfering in local affairs. When the Asante began rebelling against the British rule, the British attempted to put down the unrests. Furthermore, the British governor, Lord Hodgson, demanded that the Asante turn over to them the Golden Stool, i. The throne and a symbol of Asante independence. Armitage was sent out to force the people to tell him where the Golden Stool was hidden and to bring it back. After going from village to village with no success, Armitage found at the village of Bare only the children who said their parents had gone hunting. In response, Armitage ordered the children to be beaten. When their parents came out of hiding to defend the children, he had them bound and beaten, too. This brutality was the instigation for the Yaa Asantewaa War for Independence which began on March 28, 1900. Yaa Asantewaa mobilized the Asante troops and for three months laid siege to the British mission at the fort of Kumasi. The British had to bring in several thousand troops and artillery to break the siege. Also, in retaliation, the British troops plundered the villages, killed much of the population, confiscated their lands and left the remaining population dependent upon the British for survival. They also captured Queen Yaa Asantewaa whom they exiled along with her close companions to the Seychelle Islands off Africa’s east coast, while most of the captured chiefs became prisoners-of-war. Super hard to find Elise in amazing lace wedding gown and veil. This is such a beautiful doll she has thick blonde hair, gorgeous blue green eyes with all her lashes. She was made in 1962 – for one year only – she comes in a lovely vintage wedding gown and veil -tagged. It is in beautiful shape however the elastic is stretched in the panties. I have also added some wedding slippers that I made. The veil does have a tear in it and it is quite dusty. I will leave the cleaning to the new owner as the veil is attached quite firmly to the head. The hose have a small flaw and I have pictured it. She comes from my private collection and is so beautiful. As you can see shes easy to pose and loves to sit in very expensive doll furniture. When restoring these 75 year old + dolls, great care is taken in having them look like they did when they were mint & new. Color is vibrant, Finish is satiny, features are complete and great effort has been taken to replicate the originality from the factory. Adorable JEANNIE She has her Clear brown sleep eyes. She wears a nice strawberry MOHAIR wig. Her outfit is a factory made Blue Swiss Dot sheer fabric. It has a matching tam, and is in great shape. There are a cotton underslip and panties, Good vintage leather shoes. More beauties listed, so please take a look. Please look at all the pictures. There are good & clear close-ups. The item has been photographed well. The pictures are part of the description & support both the description and condition of the item. You have the option to use the magnification feature as well. Sometimes these 50-80 year old dolls just dont survive the test of time very well. Finding a skilled restorationist is as hard to find as the rare doll itself. This is a ART. A labor of love & mostly a lot of sanding. With these collectible pieces, I have done my best to keep the doll looking as original as possible when the doll was factory made (not what a 80 year old faded doll looks like). With that being said, These are still Vintage & Antique dolls. Composition especially has a lot of factory nuances that other materials do not have. Their imperfections are part of the charm of composition. This doll has been repaired if needed, and eyes will be clear and a appropriate color. There will be no missing fingers or toes. I use paints which are very similar to the ones used by the factory. The overhaul process includes stripping, filling, sanding, priming, airbrush painting, hand painted features & sealing. I pay special attention to the faces and they are completely smooth. I line the head socket with suede. I have been a skilled Artist all my life. HTF camellia print Cissy dress from 1958. This dress is prone to dye runs and this example has several, mostly on the shoulder and back bodice area. There is one lesser dye run on the skirt. Bow and flowers at waist are original and in good condition. There are two small rust colored spots on bodice. This is a beautiful dress even with its issues!
