This is a vintage Cissy doll by Madame Alexander dressed in a tagged red velveteen dress and fully accessorized. She was manufactured in the late 1950s and is from my personal collection. Cissy is 20 inches tall and has joints at the head, shoulders, hips and knees. Her vinyl arms are also jointed. The remainder of her body is hard plastic. All joints work well, and her stringing is good. No tears or damage to her vinyl arms. Cissy has had professional repairs done to seam splits at the tops of both legs. Her blushing was refreshed and a matte finish applied to her face. Can’t recall if her lashes were replaced or not, but they are all there. Her eyes have the typical color change and are a combination of blue-green-amber. They open and close well. Cissy has the shorter brunette wig with some fly-aways or hairs that don’t want to lay smooth. The wig is intact, but stray hairs will readily pull out of the wig. That said, I haven’t messed with it much since it looks fine for display. As with every Cissy I have, the left leg seems slightly longer than the other, so on a stand, she is displayed in a slight walking position. Her sleeveless A-line dress has four snaps down the back for closure, and the pretty chevron applique on the bodice has all of its bright stones. The velveteen is a rich, deep red and not quite as bright as some of the pictures might suggest. Under her dress, she wears a pair of Cissy taffeta panties with good elastic, vintage seamed stockings in good condition (not original Cissy ones) and a darling full slip belonging to the more modern 21-inch Jackie doll. She wears a pair of gold Premier high heels that had never been on a doll and a wonderful vintage woven gold metallic cap on her head (a very pretty and unusual piece). Her other accessories include a gold-and-rhinestone replica bracelet, a knock-out diamond ring, and a pretty gold cloth evening bag with rhinestone handle. The bag has a snap closure. At one time, she would hold the bag between her thumb and fingers, but it doesn’t want to stay put that way any longer, so the handle can be used to go around her hand. It is shown both ways in the pictures. The ring is non-adjustable, but has a taller basket with a saw-tooth edge rather than the typical Cissy ring. The stone is brilliant. HTF camellia print Cissy dress from 1958. This dress is prone to dye runs and this example has several, mostly on the shoulder and back bodice area. There is one lesser dye run on the skirt. Bow and flowers at waist are original and in good condition. There are two small rust colored spots on bodice. This is a beautiful dress even with its issues! Vintage 1950s Madame Alexander Cissy Doll in Pristine and rare FAO Schwartz dress. This is a 21 Beautiful Madame Alexander Cissy doll from the 1950′s. She is wearing an tagged FAO Schwartz street dress that is rarely seen today. The dress is in pristine condition. She comes with her original slip and panties both of which are in excellent condition. In addition to the original slip I have also included a Cissy can can slip labeled “Doll Dreams by Natalie”. This is the slip she is wearing in the pictures. I chose this slip because it is much fuller than the original tulle and taffeta slip. I promise you will love her slip. Cissy is wearing her original nylons with the pink elastic tops. Her pink strappy shoes are replacements. Cissy is an infused doll with a beautiful face and clear green eyes. She has all her. Lashes, good brows, pink lips and rosy cheeks. She has shiny reddish-brunette hair in its original set however I did replaced her broken ties with small rubber bands several years ago. Cissy wears a pearl necklace with matching bracelet and pearl earrings. These are extras and were not included with the original FAO Schwartz outfit. Cissy also comes with a white Madame Alexander hat box; a miniature copy of the gold medal awarded to Madame Alexander by the Fashion Academy; her original white gloves; the original Madame Alexander instruction booklet for caring for your doll; a one of a kind open brimmed hat by Richards Originals and her doll stand. The top of the hatbox is a little dirty. I have never attempted to clean it. I have had this Cissy in my collection for many years. She has an even skin tone and no leg or hip splits. Her head is just the teensiest bit wobbly. The wobble is so minor that I hesitate to even mention it. Her head still holds any pose you place it in. Cissy is 60 years old so some flaws would be expected even if they are minor. This is a 14-15 Madame Alexander Scarlett O’Hara doll wearing one of the rarer and hardest to find dresses. There is light age fading on her pink and light blue striped dress but it is a rare Alexander tagged dress (see pic). She has her o riginal black leather shoes with silk bows, stiff petticoat, stockings, and matching pantaloons. Her straw bonnet is perfect with no damage. She is incredibly beautiful with a lovely presence. Her composition body is clean with light crazing. Her limbs are tight. Her expressive blue eyes are clear, sleep nicely and still retain her original lashes. Her original black wig is in the original set with small pins and curls. Her sweet face has delicate face paint with smoky eyeshadow, red lips, painted underlashes, and multistroke brown eyebrows. Please view all photos, as they are an important part of the description.
