Vintage 1950s Madame Alexander Cissy Clothing/Accessories. Rare Blue Gingham Dress – Tagged. This is a 1958 rare and hard-to-find blue checkered cotton gingham apron-front dress for the 20 Cissy that was produced as a boxed extra. A wide Val lace forms the apron-front design, and the sash comes from the darts, creating an illusion of an apron. The same trim is used on armholes. A similar design is seen on the 1957 aqua shirtwaist. The dress ties in back and has front center bust darts. This is in excellent mint condition, with no spots, rips, or stains. Cissy doll is not included. IMPORTANT: Besides the noteworthy issues mentioned above, EXPECT any vintage dolls and clothes/accessories to have normal signs of age. Doll bodies may have minor scuffs or fading/spots to the body, minor loss of hair (wig, lashes), etc. And clothing/accessories may need a touch-up or needle and thread here and there. Vintage 1957 Madame Alexander Cissette as Queen Elizabeth Doll. She is wearing a tagged gold brocade gown and a blue ribbon across her upper body with few decorative elements and couple of rhinestones. Yellow half slip with lace trim underneath. No shoes, tiara, or any other accessories that this doll might have had. The dress has some brown spots caused by deteriation of the metal clasps, but they are not on the visible surface, hidden underneath. Some age-related browning to the brocade on the back, and a little hole to the lining. There is also a browning spotting on the blue ribbon, seems like it is caused by metal decor touching the fabric. The doll itself in in good vintage condition with no damage, and sleepy eyes work well. Signed Mme Alexander on her upper back. Please see all the photos for details. “Princess Elizabeth”, 1937 British Coronation. This is one of the most beautiful and adorable, Madame Alexander, jointed composition, (Betty face) “Princess Elizabeth” (1937 deluxe model) dolls we have had the pleasure to offer. Glenn Mandeville’s Madame Alexander Dolls 3rd Collector’s Price Guide full organdy slip/petticoat with attached organdy panties, nylon socks and adorable, silver leatherette shoes with side snap closures. She has adorable dimples, excellent coloring and blush to her cheeks, elbows, hands, and knees, pretty sleep eyes (faded, cloudy) with perfect sable hair eyelashes, painted eyelashes, brows and closed mouth. Her original, long blond human hair is in the original curly set with no trim and crowned with the original silver tiara. Madame Alexander Cissy 1950′s with Honeymoon accessories. I remember when this one of a kind fashion was designed. We wore wide flared skirts and dresses with stiff underskirts to make it stand out. This particular outfit was designed a “Going Away” off to the “Honeymoon” fashion. And the only one with the throw away bouquet attached to the sheer organza wrap or stole. For the cool June evening Honeymoon. Alexander used sheer organza in keeping with the other wedding materials.. This stole has yellowed with age. The hat is the only one designed for this event and has the same flowers, all original. There are two pearl rusted hatpins attaching the hat. The Navy dress has the square black snaps and one seam has loosened at the tight sleeve. The dress is untagged, but some were not or lost. The slip is exquisite heavy grossgrain taffeta and was probably not cost productive, so you have cheaper slips used in mass production. Cissy has original Tosca Marcel wave and curl with original rusting hairpins. She does not have the Yardley coiffure, which is beautiful but not natural. We never wore that coiffure in the fifties. Cissy’s beautiful face still has high color, as well her knees. Brows were faded and no trace of double stroke. Eyes still gleam, but could be cleaned. The lashes appear human hair and are the color of hair and not the common black lashes used in mass production on all dolls. May have been experimental or lost. Its unusual all lashes were lost. Body is in very good condition, no splits, tight joints, slight loose head. She comes with dress, hat. Stole wrap with all original flowers, older red heels. You must sign for this Cissy. Sweet and pretty Elise doll from the 1950′s good condition but could use some help with her hair (I think it was in a pony tail), please see pictures. The doll has original coloring as far as I know , all her eyelashes and has pretty crystal earrings that would date the doll to the late 1950′s. This pink outfit is not original for this doll although it is a beautiful very good condition Elise outfit. Also included is an outfit a little more suited for her # 2564 tagged Jumper dressing blouse from 1958, which includes a red slip, white shoes (new), and a hat. Not sure that the slip or hat are original but vintage. The jumper dress and blouse could stand to be cleaned but I have not done that. An Elise box is included, probably from the same time period of the pink 1960′s outfit. Please check all the pictures and ask questions if needed.
