Madame Alexander Dolls

I have lots to say on this listing, these were a labor of love for the past few years. It includes a Laurie Lawrence doll who was originally and Amy or Meg doll redressed in boys clothing. Stringing is good on all dolls. They all have been cleaned and hair treated to make shiny again. I went for clothing in same pastel color palette so they display well together. Stands are not included. I have added a bonus handbag shown in last photo. Laurie was not made by Madame Alexander for the 14″ dolls, only the 12 and 8″ Little Women Laurie dolls. They made other boy dolls in 14 size in the early 1950′s, which are always girl doll faces with shorter hair. Being an obsessive collector, I could not possibly cut doll hair, so I put it all up in the hat. The hat has velvet band and small black buttons as trim. Shoes and oil cloth socks are original Madame Alexander, with bows removed. Laurie’s clothing is partially handmade except for the blue jacket. I looked for over 2 years to find good Laurie clothing! Please note on all girl dolls that undergarments are Madame Alexander, but not period correct, they are mostly from 1960′s dolls, which gives some better elastic. They came with homemade clothing when I bought them originally. Second photographed is 1950 Meg with bangs and a blonde braid across top of her head. She is wearing a tagged Meg dress. It has a little fading at the bottom. She wears late 1960′s cream suede booties and white pantaloons. Third photographed is Jo in beautiful homemade 1950′s lavender ballerina costume. Madame Alexander rarely used purple clothing and I wanted to keep everyone in pastel colors. I love the vintage ballerina dolls so I made Jo one as there are not many pastel colored dresses available for her dolls. She has a homemade necklace, not factory. Her tights originally came on a 1948 Jo who was one of the earliest models, I do not know if they were a predecessor to pantaloons. Her shoes are pink satin slippers, you could add laces if you want them to look more like ballet slippers. Her petticoats are later Mdme Alexander, one is pinned since elastic was loose. She has an eye that is a little off center. She is a walker base that doesn’t walk anymore. Beth is dark haired in her proper tagged pink, white and blue dress with pantaloons and a slip. She wears new homemade socks and pink satin shoes to match her dress. She has a bit of yellow in back of her dress that lines up where a stand sits in back where a stand lines up to it. Next is Amy, she is in an original pink striped, tagged Amy gown. She wears Mdme A pantaloons, slip and cream suede booties. Her arms could use a little scrub, they have a little residue of caked on dust on the arms that I missed. Finally Marme wears a tagged Marme aqua dress with black accents. Her hair came out nice and shiny. She wears black and cream Mdme A booties, pantaloons and a black apron. Color on gown is a little faded in front on top, tag writing is faded too in back. One arm and hand is faded and one eye occasionally wants to not fully open, but is easily adjusted. Thanks for looking and reading!
