G’day from Down Under I’ve been collecting Madame Alexander dolls, and in particular Alexanderkins, for quite a lot of years now. Started with Cissy, Lissy and Maggie, and then moved on to the smaller dolls when space became an issue. Having recently downsized our living arrangements yet again (which means even less room for displaying my dolls) I have struggled with the idea of letting some of them go (I have around 100, many of them pretty close to mint condition) but now I realise it’s time to do this. This one is a 1953 straight leg non walker, brunette triple stitched wig is lovely set, and wearing an outfit that includes pink floral jumper dress with white ric rac, and a one piece romper in pink, also with white ric rac. The bonnet matches the romper fabric, and as you can see, the outfit still has it’s Alexanderkin tag attached. Flutter eyes are blue and move freely. Shoes are top-stitched black with fuzzy soles, as it typical of the kins of this early era. Socks are the typical rayon in white, and the whole outfit comes together beautifully in my opinion. She has a little blush left on her cheeks, her brows are still there, and her under-eye lashes are very dark. She stands on her own without any difficulty; she is well strung and holds a pose well as the first pic shows. The pictures speak for themselves, but please – if you have any questions at all, let me know and I’ll do my best to respond quickly.
